Great stay overall. The hotel has a very convenient location with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and public transport. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout the stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the check-in and check-out process smooth.

My third time staying at the abstract and I’m such a fan, it was nice that when I checked in they recognised me with a friendly welcome. The room was perfect for my stay, everything I need is within reach and I slept great both nights. In the past when I’ve stayed it’s been warmer weather but as it’s cooling down now I enjoyed the Dyson purifier which heats the room quickly when needed. The room was refreshed with clean bedding, towels and bins changed on the second day which I appreciated coming back to after being out. I would happily stay again next time I need to be in the city

No air conditioning and no warning there is none. Sweltering hot room. The parking signage is contradictory as staff can have family members park in front to visit city. Sign clearly states under no exception is cars to be left parking in front. That is quite rude. A guest checking out is stopping just to give key card over and check out. A staff members family parks behind and walks down road. Making guest stuck to move out and leave. The sign is law yet staff are allowed to circumvent this and guest was made to wait for over an hour for car user to return from city before travelling to next hotel down country. I witnessed it all and the guest was visiting from overseas with a hired van! When a sign is put up then that is policy! Bending the policy like the staff here is showing disregard for taking care of client unless they are family? Must inform people of no air conditioning before they book as it is very misleading!!! Mysteriously the air conditioning works in the entrance where staff are. Just not in almost all the rooms. Hardly any sleep when room way too hot. Outside on one of their pillars has the sign stating about parking out front. Yet staff are allowed to let their families park however long they want out the front. Stayed here 3 year before and the spa bath dirty. Key card not work so was treated like I was stupid and staff member find out the key card not work and had to go back down stairs to cut me new one. I had my aunty with me when booking and it included breakfast and parking with which I was denied at hotel and told that was not inclusive in the booking. At least that first time the room had air conditioning...

The decor is beautiful and stylish. The first floor (not the ground floor) has a kitchen, seating areas, and a cinema room where you can relax, sit or lie down – the atmosphere is really great. There's also luggage storage on the first floor for 6 NZD for four hours, with an extra 1 NZD charged for each additional hour. They also offer different rates for a day, a few days, or a week. The only minor inconvenience is that there's no place in the bathroom to put your clothes or toiletries; you have to put them on the floor. Sometimes I'd forget my room card when going for a shower, which made getting back into my room a bit awkward. It would be better if they used keypads or didn't require a card to enter the bathroom.

Lylo is absolutely one of the better hostels I have stayed in. The location is great and I found the kiosk downstairs super helpful for booking activities and day trips. The bathroom facilities are good and I never found myself having to wait to use anything or wander far from my room to find an available shower like in some other hostels! The beds are comfy, but as others have said, the pods are hot, the fan doesn’t work great and I had to sleep with mine open on one night. It is annoying that the light doesnt turn off in the room but wearing eye mask it's fine. Overall though, good hostel, would recommend!

It has the best location, near a bus stop, walking distance to skye tower, Britomart station, albert park, Auckland fish market, viaduct and a lot more. I ended up not using my train card. They have a very friendly staff at reception. As for the housekeeping, was not happy because they just fixed my bedsheets, throw trash but did not vacuum the floor and clean the toilet room.

Facilities: The room was spacious and well-equipped, but the phone was out of order. Cleanliness: The room was spotless and generally felt bright and airy. Service: The service attitude was excellent. Environment: Located on Queen Street, it's relatively convenient for getting around. However, taking public transport to the airport requires a bit of a walk.

After meticulously comparing hotels through reviews, choosing this one was definitely the right decision. The location is superb, right beneath the Sky Tower, and conveniently next to the SkyBus stop from the airport and the Intercity bus station, making transportation incredibly easy. Downstairs is the famous Depot restaurant. Check-in is self-service via a machine, and the entrance feels very safe, unlike other hotels where you might encounter homeless people. A short walk takes you to a New World supermarket and Chemist Warehouse, making everything easily accessible. They provide a kettle and daily housekeeping, which is quite suitable for Chinese travelers. There's also a gym upstairs. All in all, it's a very worthwhile stay, and the price is reasonable too.

This is the best hostel we’ve stayed in! Beds were super comfy, rooms and facilities were clean and well managed, communal bathrooms and kitchens were well equipped and enough for the amount of people so you never had to wait for a shower or for a space to cook!  We enjoyed it so much we booked another Haka House for later in the trip.  Photo of our room which was a private twin (with shared bathroom).

After getting off the airport shuttle, it's about a 7-8 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel's location is very central, close to Queen Street, Britomart, and the harbor. There's a supermarket right across the street and a Chemist Warehouse nearby, which is convenient for buying fish oil and souvenirs. However, nights in the CBD can be quite dangerous; even close to midnight, I heard drunk people and homeless individuals arguing. The complimentary breakfast at the hotel is decent, nothing to complain about. The staff were also good; check-out in New Zealand is usually at 10 AM, but the front desk granted a late check-out until 12 PM, so I got to enjoy a nice lie-in after breakfast. As for hygiene, the only thing to mention is that some small details could be improved. When I checked in, there were dirty water stains on the sink, hair on the bath towel, and the air conditioning filter indicated it needed changing.
