"We had an amazing, beautiful stay. From the moment we got there, all staff were very welcoming ( Bertha at the reception was such a joy), everyone was polite, always smiling, made sure everything was okay from the room, food etc. You can tell and see that every department works very hard and together they just give the best service overall. Beautiful room with a beautiful view of lake malawi. Giving one of the best views of the sunrise too. The cleanliness was 10/10 everywhere. The food was very nice and freshly made. Will be visiting again in the future without a doubt."

"29th October was more like taking too long to come for my family. When it came, the whole family was excited and we kicked off and crossed the boarder Mwami at about mid day...from Zambia Chipata after driving from South Luangwa . We drove up to Lilongwe where we had lunch before proceeding to the cape. We arrived late evening at Mgoza Lodge. We were welcomed and the family was shocked to hear the noise made by the waves from the lake ...they all dashed to have the look at the lake but there was little to watch as it was dark only a few lights could determine how far the water cover. We had our evening meal and the staff were so friendly and later went to bed When morning came, i was surprised that, everyone was up by 05 am all were running on the nice sand of the lake shore ... Mgoza was so nice to stay and mostly when we took the boat ride to watch the fish eagle catch fish which we fed them and also saw,the fish eat bread..it was such a memorable event. The trip was a success only that when my family demanded to visit Mangochi town , I forgot to carry Malawi Kwacha instead i carried USD. No one within town accepted my US dollars including all the shop dealers as well as shopping mails in Mangochi town...they all refused If you are planing a trip to cape Maclear, remember to have your money changed to Malawi Kwacha to lessen the pressure in case you want to use cash. Thanks to Mr Moses Phiri, the owner of MOZE TOURS travel AGENT, for organising and recommending Mgoza Lodge. It was so nice that even on our trip He could call us and check with us if all was well as we enjoyed our 4 days holiday. Looking forward to making another trip to Malawi in 2024."

"This is so beautiful lake front resort for family’s and friends .very large beach front with massive spaces and so much of nature and huge lands spaces-we enjoyed big and massive agriculture project and massive resort never seen in Malawi , the biggest Swming pool ever come a cross in lake Malawi truly massive and you never regret.. Excellent food varieties/ very good Indian food and Malawian food massive large landscaping to work around and foot-cycles available to ride around the resort and free of charge. Very attentive staff specially in Swming pool, The swimming pool attendants are very attentive and keep Swming pool very clean and tidy at all times, our kids love the place. Rooms are very clean and tidy never expected the quality and well kept, swimming pool bar surrounded by three different size of pools and we salute for thus concept.. Supervisors and management always around, thanks for front office peter zunduwe for his specials attention for our needs and thanks for all team members for continued care and service rendered to us. "Fantastic lodge to spend a relaxing couple of days. Beautiful surroundings and comfortable and very clean rooms. Great view over the lake where you see the boats from the nearby fisher’s village. What also makes this place unique is the welcoming atmosphere, created by the staff!"

"I would not hesitate to recommend Sunbird Livingstonia to anyone as the best tourist destination in Malawi. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The place is clean. Boat ride was enjoyable. In general, very tranquil atmosphere."

Lakeside Hotel

"I have never written a review like this, but people need to be warned. We booked this hotel largely because of the pool and lakeside location. When we arrived, not only was the pool unusable, but there was no wifi, our room had no air conditioning, there was little to no protection from the insane amount of bugs invading our room, and the shower didn't drain. The rooms are not even close to being worth the price they charge and were clearly neglected after many years of little maintenance. We reported everything immediately. The next morning, the manager responded with excuses and even tried to shift the blame onto us. After a heated argument, they reluctantly agreed to refund our second night so we could leave. However, they claimed to not have any cash and the only option was to wait until Monday morning. We didn't have enough cash to pay for an alternative on Saturday evening, so we had to head back to Lilongwe. The weekend was ruined. The owners live in Lilongwe and clearly don't care enough to invest ANY money back into the hotel. Absolutely zero maintenance or customer service training. The best thing about this hotel is the incredible photographer who took the pictures you can see on Google Maps! By the way, those pictures are like 10 years old. Very misleading. Avoid this place. There are far better options."
