"The good news first: The staff could be more professional, but they are all very friendly and courteous. The in-house restaurant deserves special praise: the service and food are absolutely up to the standards of the hotel (4 stars). The condition of the rooms is not up to par: the furniture, although relatively new, looks cheap. The double sliding door to the bathroom does not close properly. It is not possible to close the bathroom off from the room so that it is not visible or soundproof. We had the problem in both rooms. It is completely incomprehensible why such a problem is not remedied. Very unpleasant!"

"I thought long and hard about whether I should write this review. Yes, the employee apologized a million times and yes, there was a discount, but in the end all she could say was that my hands are tied, the owners decide that. And so that the owners understand, I am writing this review. As we know the Drei Könige as a restaurant and bar in Lörrach and have eaten very well there (I wrote a positive review here years ago), we went to the Drei Könige on our visit to Lörrach because we wanted to treat ourselves. Check-in only works with a PIN code, which reminds you of a budget hotel, but okay, everything worked out. The rooms are fine and clean, the bathroom is big enough, shower gel, shampoo etc. are provided by Loccitane, and there is a hairdryer etc. The breakfast on the first day was disappointing. It really is basic. Rolls, jam - strangely enough, there aren't little bowls or those little waffle containers here, but you have to somehow put the jam on your plate. Beyond that, there's not much choice. Eggs are only available upon request, but don't ask too many people, because the egg cooker apparently only cooks two eggs at a time. Variations, such as soft-boiled, aren't possible either; they only cook hard-boiled eggs, and that's that. The second morning was even worse. No butter, even less choice, no rolls. A woman at the next table scoffed, saying you're overwhelmed by the selection. When three tables asked for eggs and rolls at the same time, the waitress was hopelessly overwhelmed. After 20 minutes, by which time they'd run out of yogurt, but I was tired of asking, we were served reheated rolls from the day before, so hard they were like thick crispbread. As I said, we didn't pay for breakfast, and the waitress insisted it wasn't her fault - which I believe. I suggest they rename themselves Three Little Kings Budget and charge €35 a night, then it'll be fine again."

"Terrible client service, if you have a problem with your booking, don't expect them to help. I called the hotel to modify my booking, in order to add 1 person to my reservation. For some unknown reason, the Queen size bed room I have booked, could not accommodate 2 people. Also they were unable to cancel my existing booking to book another room which could accommodate 2 people. Their solution was to book 2 different rooms. Seriously ?"

"We slept in hotel Maien during our trip to Italy. We arrived very late because of all the stops with our toddler but everything was arranged and we could settle down right away. Administration would come tomorrow... It was a beautiful big clean room, and the view was really great. Holiday feeling was complete. The breakfast was perfect, our daughter got her own cup of 'coffee' (hot milk) and it was super cozy. Our dog was with us and we didn't even charge for that, we often don't feel very welcome with a dog but here we definitely do. In addition, the parking spaces were full upon arrival and this was also resolved immediately. For our next trip to Italy we don't have to look for a place to stay and we make sure we are a bit earlier so that we can enjoy it longer!!!"
