"Very convenient location, near the main road, close to town, supermarket and bakery nearby."

"absolutely recommended. From friendly, flexible greeting (reception) to room care staff to information about the attractions of the region was all the best. Damage has no water cooker (tea, coffee) in the room"

"Excellent price quality ratio, careful staff, very good breakfast buffet, impeccable cleanliness, room and sanitary OK. Only small bemol: need a refreshment of moquettes and pittures corridor would be a plus. Also to note : Pool and free parking "

"Just a perfect place to be if you are searching for a calm, comfortable time with family or in a couple. Great restaurant with amazing views! It is situated on the heart of Rocamadour, just in front of the elevator going up to the castle. Very much recommended! Thank you for all personnel!"

"Great hotel. Exceptional cleanliness. Very good and quiet location. Stunning view from the balcony. The stuff is very nice and polite."

"This was our 6th stay at the Chateau de Mercues, the last being in 2022. This time was much improved from the previous which was still recovering from the pandemic. We have had Room 7 five times and this time Room 6 which was even more luxurious - both overlooking the weir. The chateau itself is beautiful but we noticed that the grounds are not kept as well as our first stay in 2016. The herb garden has gone and it is 'kept' without being beautifully kept. The Chateau itself is immaculate and the Bar and Restaurant areas lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for four nights this time. The first night we had a meal in Le Dueze. We think it is overpriced and the portions are minute - also very expensive for the petit option - Euros 150 each. It is not to our taste but it is the only option available when Le Bistro is closed. We had one night with a platter on the terrace which was lovely but only because Le Dueze was full and I asked in advance of our stay to have that. On previous occasions, platters were available in the rooms but I felt I had to push for it. The Bistro was excellent on both nights - much more to our taste and on the second night the chef offered to do us something different which was kind so we didn't have to have the same food two nights running. We felt this time the staff were more helpful and trying harder. The only gripe we had with our room - which we also had with our previous room is that the plumbing is very bad in the sinks which drain very, very slowly. Only the sinks, the rest of the plumbing is fine so I wonder if they need some attention. Overall, a beautiful place and a most relaxing stay."

"A group of 15 of us (8 adults and 7 children) were booked for a group family holiday in the first week of August 2026. Domaine de Janis was suitable for our needs in terms of facilities, bedrooms, and the location. Priced at £5k for the week, it was also on a par with other similar properties in the region. We made a booking request through Vrbo, which the property owners would have had to review before accepting. They then accepted the booking, received our deposit of over £2,000 and all was confirmed. Around a fortnight later, they cancelled our booking and advised that the property could be made available to us again at "2026 pricing," which would be £6.5k, being £1.5k more than what was originally agreed. This breaking of the agreement has left us with considerable expense and inconvenience. Members of our group had already planned their journies through France and booked other accommodation for to and from Domaine de Janis, and now have to revisit their plplans. The owners have used this pricing change merely to try and take another one and a half pounds from us, knowing the logistics involved in arranging a family holiday for a group of our size. They had ample time to review the booking request before confirming it and then taking our deposit. As the title suggests, buyer beware. "

"I strongly recommend this hotel for the reception of Mamadou and Sebastien for their professionalism, gentleness, kindness to welcome us in this beautiful place. We have been left to guide by the invention of the delicious cocktails of Sebastien worthy of a great Parisian barman whom I strongly recommend to make his knowledge by his experience. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. I would like to thank Mamadou and Sebastien for the welcome to receive the passing customers."

"I recommend a very pleasant, a real cocon in nature."
