"Housekeeping is a 4 because the Maldives are famous for their "invisible service" morning and evening. At 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, we get doorbell calls offering housekeeping. While we can usually leave for breakfast by then, dinners on the island start at 7:00 PM. We had to ask to come later every day. The flight to the island is 50 minutes. The main beach with sun loungers and a pool is fenced off from the waves, and the water seems stagnant. Meanwhile, on the other side of the island, there's open ocean and super clear water, but sun loungers for beach villas and no towels are readily available. You can't book a table for dinner yourself – only through a personal butler. Sometimes they simply refuse your reservation because all the tables in the restaurant are booked for that day, and you're offered the buffet. The food is very good! The breakfasts are excellent and varied. There's a lot of Russian cuisine, a menu in Russian, and generally a lot of Russian-speaking staff."

"Komandoo is a peaceful, beautiful, adults only island. I was warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home at this barefoot paradise island. I loved how carefree and instantly relaxed I felt here. My overwater villa had the most beautiful views over the ocean and waking up to the sound of the water around me was just heavenly. Komandoo might be a smaller island, but this is part of its magic - no rush, no stess - just easy island living at its best. One of the best highlights, for me, was the stunning house reef, accessible straight from the beach - I really enjoyed the easy snorkeling amongst the beautiful marine life.. a big part of what makes the Maldives escape so very special. Komandoo won a piece of my heart and I look forward to returning back to this special little island."
