I stay here regularly when in town because the location is great and the Accor group has a commitment to Covid-safe cleaning practices.
On this stay, there were very high winds and I discovered this trip that the building has a unique wind-tunnelling issue.
The hallways ”sing” with a high-pitched squeal through the vents.
No worries, the rooms have fire doors and the minute the door to the room is shut, the sound is blocked out.
In my case, the little mechanism at the bottom of the door didn't seal off, which meant the sound continued.
The concierge changed my room immediately - brilliant!
Only issue was that there are many fingermarks on door handle backplates, so I cleaned them all myself.
Also, I was verbally harassed by a guest for choosing to wear a mask in the lift.
Not at all the Sebel's fault; just a disappointing end to a lovely stay.

If you don't mind taking the tram to the beach, you can consider making the tram a few stops. You can experience unique traffic. Walk in a quiet residential area for 3 minutes. There is No. 16 car to the beach. The beach is empress station. There is a swimming pool and fitness facilities in the city. The laundry room can wash all the dirty clothes during the trip. It ’s so cool. The garden-style hotel is better than those on the beach. I like this peaceful beach a lot of mental illness because St Kilda has a lot Weirdos and marijuana beggars are not as good as living in this area. What are the bad things to say? I think some people may think the room is a bit old-fashioned? My room is a SPA room. The door opened is a small yard. It is very comfortable. My son likes it. It is better than the seaside ridges. The space is larger and more casual. The best is two nights. Enjoy the facilities.

It is close to a friend's house, and it is close to the Coles supermarket, and there is a big park nearby. The front desk is also very friendly, that is, the entrance and entrance of the garage is one. I also found the wrong entrance when I checked in, but I got used to it a few times. There is no charge for parking. The facilities in the house are a bit old but clean.

Hotel was clean and the rooms were large, giving enough room for two backpackers. The hotel staff were amazing at dealing with an issue with some guests next door and even came and found us again the next day to explain what had happened. The gym was fine to use for us too!

My sister and I had the best time at Base St Kilda! It’s an extremely sociable hostel and we met some of our best friends here that we have continued to meet up the east coast! (The bingo is a must do!) While we had some a minor issue with our booking for an excursion with Happy Travels, it was resolved and we are super grateful for the both teams for accomodating and helping us sort it all out! Highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re solo and want to find some friends for life! Thank you Base!

Location is excellent. A short walk to both ends of Acland St and late evening food available at several spots. Room was very clean but bedside tables needed an extra wipe down. Great selection of quality tea and coffee on offer. Tram noise is definitely audible from early a.m. but if you’re looking for a city experience, it just sits in the general hum of urban Melbourne sounds.
Front Desk shuts 8pm sharp, so be aware of this as Trip will not pass out your contact details for reception to call you and confirm this info. Needed to contact reception after we got into our room: no answer. After ringing 3 times, gave up.
Be aware, when the Cosmo takes your $150 room deposit, they charge you 2.5% which they don’t refund ($3.75). This is very dodgy business practice (illegal, we believe) and we told them we would contact Consumer Affairs, as they also refused a cash payment alternative to avoid this fee (due to Covid). The senior receptionist was very understanding and kindly overrode the fee, but it is something to be very aware of. Tarnished what was, essentially, a great stay in a good value hotel.

A really nice hostel, with a lot of sympathicly supporting program. But: in the little things unfortunately more appearance than reality. The rooms lack ventilation/air conditioning. The protective curtains are mostly torn out. Cleaning in the corners is sporadic. The kitchen is cleaned too irregularly, so that food remains dry in all places. The shower does not provide a constant water temperature and brown mold forms. The staff is generally quite nice, but room for improvement is nevertheless also. The Selina Hostel brand can improve it, and better.

Enjoy the bohemian history of this iconic St Kilda hotel. It's quirky and you might find the odd stubborn spot on the carpet but the Artwork is fabulous. I especially love Mirka Mora's Angelic faces on the walls downstairs. Bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. Tee at the front desk was incredibly helpful and accomodating. This is not a venue for the faint-hearted, stay if you like things shabby chic and have an aerobic curiosity.

Pluses: - Loved our experience - both hotel and location. - Staff are fantastic and super friendly. Nothing is an issue - we felt very welcome. - Room was great, quiet and comfortable. JJINGThere are breakfast baskets such as bread and cereals. Fruits and wine from your own winery are welcome. The car is parked next to the child. Look carefully at the letter when you check in. It is a little far from the train. Hours, if you want to take the train at 10:30 am, it is recommended to go out before 8:30, because they will run into their morning peak. There are walking directions, and it is wonderful to make a circle at sunset.

GGuest UserWould I recommend Holiday Inn little Collins...yes I would...but there were a few negatives to our stay Location is excellent close to Sth Cross Station and the free tram network. Breakfast included is a bonus and the selection was great. Hot sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, toast, cereals, pastries and mini muffins as well as the milk, orange juice, tea and coffee (with barista made at a cost by the reception/bar located in the same area. Staff were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. On the negative side I must add that during our 4 night stay housekeeping came the first morning. After that nothing so our wet towels sat waiting for collection. When calling for clean towels I was directed to collect them from reception. The next day we encountered the same issue...after leaving the room most of the day we returned again to find housekeeping hadn't been. This time when I called reception they organized to send a crew up pretty quickly. I expect the main reason behind this was they were fully booked with Manchester united fans in for the weekends game but as a mum the occasional opportunity to actually have someone tidy and replace towels is a novelty that I take full advantage of so was disappointed in this part of our stay. Beds and linen were clean but again housekeeping let us down with the floors...carpet had definitely not been cleaned in a while ...our socks picked up various dark long hair and bark/dirt..gross. One last issue was the invoice received for our stay..all good and as expected however $50.75 more was actually taken out of my visa. Having to make another phone call to have this explained was ridiculous. It's a bond...totally understand and it's refundable after the room is checked BUT why not add a small note to the invoice explaining this and save the guest and your team time explaining the extra charge?? Overall it was a decent stay and I would recommend but the issues above need to be ironed out quickly.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, and the room was set up in a modern and pleasant way. The room has most of what you need but it is very small, with very little space to even set down a suitcase.
I would have preferred access to a full size ironing board rather than a desktop one.

GGuest UserHyatt Place Essendon Field is located a 10 minute drive from the airport, MEL. Alternatively, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle from the airport. Depending on traffic downtown or CBD, is only a 20-minute drive away. The hotel is a few minutes drive both restaurants and shopping if you want something else then the hotel kitchen or the attached gastro pub. There is a garden around the hotel, and plenty of parking spaces. The lobby area offers plenty of seating and both for eating and meetings. On the first floor is the is a good size gym with plenty of machines and weights. The rooms are a good size and well planned, working both for short and long stays. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a good location.

An impressive property and more luxurious than expected for an airport hotel. Beautifully designed and a tranquil lobby setting with Japanese style gardens featured. We had expected a stock standard experience but were pleasantly surprised by well appointed rooms. The room facilities were stylish and high-end, including a coffee machine, Chromecast t.v., high quality linens and fittings. The shower soap and hand wash were lovely. The room was quite spacious and all our needs were accommodated. We would have forgotten we were at the airport except for the view of the planes from our window. We enjoyed the Bocatta restaurant immensly with fresh seafood and pasta including woodfire pizza. Breakfast was delicious with ample selections available. The highlight was the caring and genuine service provided by the staff. Karen at Reception was a standout with her sincere and welcoming service. We can't wait to stay again. A fabulous addition to Melbourne and worth a visit!

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Melbourne near the Spanish Quarter, Bourke Street Mall, and other shopping precincts. The staff are friendly and efficient at check-in. The rooms are good in size with modern amenities and comfortable beds. There is a kettle and small fridge. The bathroom has a bath with a shower, so if you have mobility issues, it's not for you. There is no rail to hold onto when getting in or out, which makes it dangerous, especially as it gets slippery. There is a pool and gyn which were modern and accessible. The room we had faced into the mezzanine of the hotel so you dont get any light from outside, which was strange. The room was very quiet and had a good air conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again, although the lack of being able to see outside wasn't ideal, and if you stayed for more than one night, it could be an issue.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Sheraton because it was surprisingly cheap for the location and star rating. I soon found out why. The sleep quality was not the best - I woke up with a head and neck ache one night and painful for dry eyes the next. The check out experience took the cake though. I was told that “for security reasons” they can only take chip-and-pin payments with a physical card. I was also told this was “standard for all Marriott hotels”. These are blatant lies: I have used tap payments at Marriott hotels on five continents, most recently at a Marriott in Australia just last year. Tap and pay hadn’t gotten less secure since 2022! I’m so used to paying on the phone I’d forgotten the PIN on the physical card. After some arguing I was allowed to swipe-and-sign. So secure! What offends me isn’t so much the backwardness, but the lies to dress up the backwardness as a benefit rather than just cheapness. Never again. Oh and I’m here posting this review again because it turns out negative reviews don’t get passed through to Tripadvisor.

Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections.
Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment.
None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests.
FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building.
The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful.
In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross.
I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind.
The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.

GGuest UserOur stay was OK in as much as the bed and bathroom were acceptable for the price. - when the price is $125 or so. The trick is while they advertise $125 a night, Friday and Saturday night the prices goes off the scale. So read your proposal, even if you're in a rush. There are lot better rooms around at around $200 or more. We stayed 4 nights and extended another - a Saturday. (Family matters nearby). The gentleman said $120 for the extra night but when I got my statement it was $189! It was then I realised I was charged that for Friday too. Re-educated in touch and go and not bothering with the receipt. Sure these prices are not exorbitant in this day an age - for a reasonable establishment. While in the room the basics were reasonable, the room had a toaster and microwave but no bread plates or cutlery, only small bowls. Asked at reception and was give some disposable cutlery and pasta bowls . Great for toast! Apparently people keep stealing them or breaking them. So charge them and have something reasonable for reasonable people! The door didn't latch either without a heft with your shoulder and then caught only by millimetres. The chain was on and the chairs in place, don't worry. The room was only serviced once during our stay after we asked. The garbage truck came at 4.00Am or so and emptied multiple skips just nearby (on the premises) with all the beeping and backing, hydraulic whining, and diesel roaring you'd probably accept at $120 odd dollars a night, but really?
