"Our third stay at this hotel. The hotel is in a great location in the village of Mijas, short walk to everything and right beside the bus stop. It is a traditional spanish hotel, very clean and the staff are extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. The pool area is very peaceful, plenty of sun loungers and choice to lay by the pool or on the large terrace where you can take in the beautiful views. The buffet breakfast was well organised and there was a good choice of hot and cold food and a manned station where fried eggs, bacon and omlettes were made to order while you waited. We had a basic room but it was more than adequate wirh comfortable beds, tv, air con, fridge, hairdryer etc and was cleaned every day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again."

"The room we booked was not marked as -1st floor. It was obviously a basement with a window. The front desk had a bad attitude and said there were no other rooms. We arrived in the middle of the night and almost early in the morning. We had no choice but to stay. The smell of sewerage was very strong. Seriously, how clean can a basement be? The external environment of the hotel is quite good"

"Our stay went very well! The hotel staff was welcoming and very professional. We received an upgrade to our room, which was very satisfying 🙂. The Resort's location is excellent if you have a car, as it's located between Marbella, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, and Malaga. But without a car, you risk spending a lot on Ubers, even if the prices aren't too expensive."

"After coming here every year for 10 years, we thought that it couldn't get any better. Only it was better. 3 quality golf courses, excellent food and drink. Swim up bar after a hot day on the course is always a highlight of the day. The staff are amazing, so polite, and so friendly. We would never go anywhere else for our golf trip. We can't wait to come back next year. Highly recommend anyone to stay here. Its fantastic"

"The room is large, with a living room and a bedroom. It is a very good choice as a halfway point during a trip to Spain, where you can do laundry and cook. It is suitable for a family. The swimming pool is very good, but the hotel has a band playing until 10 o'clock in the evening. If you are an older family and want to go to bed early, it may be a bit noisy, but for us, listening to light music is very comfortable. Recommended for self-driving tours, you can park for free. Check-out is required at 10 a.m., and extra time will cost you 10 euros. So remember to check out on time. "

"This wasn’t the greatest experience ever. We went away towards the end of may, Me, my partner and my daughter. To find the main pool wasn’t even open until the final day of the holiday. The reception was extremely rude about it and lied to all visitors at the hotel about the pool situation. They told me that it wasn’t open since October. Which as you can imagine came a big shock to me, as the main reason of booking this place was because of the pool for the children. Unfortunately, we had to take other trips outside of the hotel, to visit other places with pools and activities. This then became expensive and unfortunately didn’t allow us to do what we wanted to actually do on the trip. I will be requesting a refund of some sorts from love holidays, who never advertised the pool being closed."

"Just back from La Cala. Stayed at Hotel Carmen for a week and couldn’t speak highly enough about it . It was spotlessly clean staff were excellent in particular Daniel who was always pleasant and willing to help. The coffee shop was excellent for breakfast everything was freshly cooked and the staff were also very pleasant"
