As for the downsides, as others have already mentioned, it's unclear why it's impossible to send entry codes in advance on the day of arrival if a foreign guest requests one, as not everyone has roaming or Wi-Fi access upon check-in. Email and text requests were ignored. You must call the doorbell—standing at the door."

"As the title says, here we feel at home... far from home! The Hotel Karol is just a few minutes' walk from the train station and is strategically located for reaching many areas of the city on foot. It's situated in a very quiet area, and nearby there are bars, pizzerias, and shops of various types... Piazza Trento e Trieste, one of the liveliest areas of this Lombardy city, is a 5-minute walk away. Having described the location, it's now time to begin describing the hotel in all its features... Due to my personality (perhaps wrong, I don't know...), my first impression of a new place is almost always the right one. Arriving at the Hotel Karol, my first impression was absolutely positive: I was greeted by the almost sisterly smile of Alessandra, a kind and courteous young woman who exudes a great empathy and seems to have known you for years! Now let's look at the room, a single in this case... The aspects I personally consider when staying in a hotel are essentially two: the cleanliness of the bathroom and the cleanliness of the bed... in both cases, the rating is decidedly positive! The bathroom, like the bedroom, is clean and tidy... everything is in its place and nothing seems left to chance. The room is spacious, and in addition to a generously sized closet, there's also a desk with a TV and a roomy bedside table. The bathroom is stocked with a generous set of towels of all sizes, both terrycloth and linen. The shower is spacious, and upon entering, its cleanliness is immediately apparent: no limescale stains on the shower tray or the glass doors. The bathroom also provides soap and a small bottle of bubble bath. Each morning, the room's minibar stocks two 0.5-liter bottles of water, one sparkling and one still, to meet the needs of every guest. The spacious reception area features two comfortable armchairs, and tourists are provided with numerous brochures illustrating the city's attractions, available in Italian, English, French, and German. In addition to Alessandra's excellent courtesy and friendliness, as described above, a special mention must also be made of Mr. Mauro, the owner of the property: a few minutes' conversation is all it takes to appreciate his great courtesy and respect for each and every guest. The excellent value for money is also noteworthy: €72/night, breakfast included! In conclusion, four simple words: BOOK! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!"
