A hotel full of history as it has been the chosen venue for important events in Nara. Many celebrities had stayed in this hotel including Albert Einstein. Tried the rice lager at the tea house which is very good tgough some may find it not strong enough. The vicinity is nice. It is within waljing distance of the famous Nara Park. The room is spacious. Shuttle bus service to Nara station is excellent. Very helpful staff. An enjoyable stay indeed!

Fantastic Hotel with a perfectly convenient location. The only thing is the bad attitude of a female manager at the front desk. We asked for more bottled water, but she refused. Refusing is OK, but she thought we didn't understand Japanese and said some bad words to us.
Unfortunately, we are just not fluent in Japanese, but we can totally understand what she was saying. A pathetic woman manager ruined other staff's good service and hard work.

A small Japanese-style hotel hidden in the mountains of Nara Prefecture, no matter where you come from, you can find the same feeling of home here. It can be comparable to the kaiseki cuisine of Michelin restaurants, so that you can taste the Japanese food that is completely different from the previous impression. After the cooking director carefully developed and according to the season, The food made by the guests' tastes is amazing! 👍👍👍 The hotel also has translations for guests from different countries, and the translation and communication levels are professional! Guests can also visit the crafts workshops in the villages around the hotel. Every craftsman and their craftsman spirit is awesome! The village is surrounded by a large area of original fir trees. If you have the strength, you can also go close to nature, explore the monasteries and waterfalls. In short, I am very happy to stay, I hope that in different seasons we can go to the field Neold Hotel to have a different style! .

It was a hotel with a gorgeous view from the room. I was disappointed that the wide-edge chair had almost no backrest, but thanks to that, I was able to see the night view from Mt. Wakakusa, one of Japan's top three night views, while lying on the bed facing the window. I took two rooms with my daughter's couple and tried to use our room as a meeting place, but the Japanese-Western rooms had hard tatami mats and the chairs had no backrests, so we ended up meeting in the lobby. The sofa around the fireplace was the special seat, but there were little games on the other sofas that everyone could enjoy. Self-service free coffee comes in hot and iced varieties, and others include iced tea and apple juice. At night, you can roast marshmallows over the fireplace and eat them as s'mores between crackers. On the free stargazing tour starting at 9:00 p.m., you can enjoy a 180-degree night view from the top of the mountain. We had dinner starting at 6:30, but even though the food was not slow and the waiters were not slow, we were running out of time (we had to hurry and finish at 8:45), so if you want to sign up for a tour, you should start by 6:00. Recommended. Each room had a view bath for 50 minutes, which was plenty. When hot water overflows from the bathtub, hot water is automatically supplied. There is a shower booth, but the water temperature is not stable and the shower is extremely water-saving, so it was a little difficult to use. In addition to shampoos, we have everything from cleansing to face wash and moisturizing. There is also a sink in the changing area, so you can remove your makeup there. This may not be an individual private bath, so... Towels, bath towels, co**** cloth for washing the body, and water were set in each basket. There were plenty of electrical outlets in the room in easy-to-use locations. 1 outlet and 1 typeA USB port per bed. There are 2 packs of coffee per person, 3 packs of each of 2 types of tea, and 1 bottle of water per person. The food was also luxurious and delicious for me.

Not at the best location, however probably the greatest experience with the hotel. Though I stayed for one night only, but I enjoyed every moment in the hotel from the lobby, room and even the hot bath. From the attached photos, you can probably feel how beautiful this hotel is.

Stayed two nights in the Standard queen. The view was amazing, the bed was comfy, bath room warm and cozy. But it isn't the biggest room, might be a squeeze with two adults luggage. Nara isn't big so location-wise you are close by the sights with most hotels, but this one really has a terrace bordering the park and the deer does just hang out right there. The breakfast was nice, but when I checked in I just got western-style breakfast-tickets without the choice of Japanese-style, and the second morning when I asked to get the Japanese-style I was told they were out of them, so maybe ensure at the automatic check-in that you get the breakfast you want.

The hotel is in the forest, and you can walk along the mountain road to the hotel (it would be inconvenient to walk in to get your luggage, you can take a taxi to the door of the hotel). The scenery is so beautiful, leaving the noisy tourist area and getting close to nature. Dinner is kaiseki, in a private restaurant room, a great experience! When checking in, the time for dinner and breakfast will be arranged, and the time of the private bath room will be confirmed, and the service staff will come to the room to call. The breakfast has traditional tea and rice, delicious 😋The room is traditional Japanese style, not low-key luxury design. The environment is awesome!

From the moment we arrived at Mikasa in the hills above Nara, we knew that this was going to be a special place to stay. The staff had arrived out front to greet us and assist us with our luggage. Our name was up on the board of arrivals, and after handing over our passports, we were quickly ushered into their main seating area off the lobby for some Ocha and a view of Nara below. My assumption is that they were doing that additional check-in procedures and verifying the room was ready during this time, so it was a nice touch to be able to relax while waiting. The ladies in our group were then given their choice of Yukata. For whatever reason, the men's were already in the room. We were then shown the facilities on our way to the rooms and given the information as to how the bathing worked. It was a lot of information to digest, but not unreasonable. The rooms were larger than expected, with the traditional tatami matting and our own private onsen on the porch. The room had HVAC, which was nice as it was quite chilly outside and it kept the room the perfect temperature. Not long after we arrived, it was time for the traditional Japanese dinner. We arrived slightly early to our reserved time but were delighted to find that our own private dining room had already been set up for our dining experience. We could not believe the amount which had already been laid out for us. It was a delightful mix of colors and aromas, and provided a precursor for the several courses which were to follow. The food was amazing. Even when there were dishes that were not to our liking (due to palette, not quality) , we dud enjoy the presentation. Although there was a bell to ring for service, our host always seemed to know when we were finishing and was ready with the next course. It was quite the experience and would recommend to anyone to ensure you get the traditional dining options. From there, we retired back to the rooms to get ready for the onsen, which was open for longer hours than expected. I believe they closed at midnight and opened back up at 05:30am. Some opted to get up early to enjoy the relative privacy of an early morning soak before breakfast. We again went the traditional route for breakfast, and while it was a bit more adventurous than we were used to, it embraced the mornings offerings of seafood, savory proteins, and intriguing fruits. The quantity of food was comparable to the dinner the previous evening, which is to say, a lot of it. After that, it was time to check-out as we had elected for just a 1 night stay, though we would all have liked to stay another night. The best part was, for check-out, they would take you bags and drop them at the Ryokan's information center allowing guests to spend their day in Nara without the hassle of dealing with luggage. Definitely a 5-star touch. Please note that there was some confusion about the location of the info booth as both times we were pointed to different spots on the map, neither of whi

Booking because it was a new and clean hotel to see the advertisement in the story of Instagram. Location is good. The building and room are as impressive as the photos on the homepage. I wanted a bus mat and a bus mat if I raised something. I was happy with the free mini bar, but I wish there were a little more snacks. Dinner is good to look good but the taste is normal. There was no volume and I felt the speed of delivery because I had to eat immediately. Breakfast is buffet style except for the main 4 items. It was better than breakfast at a business hotel, but there was no impression like this. The staff was very young and had a lot of unfamiliar times. This time, I was able to stay at 10800 yen per person with 2 meals in the goto campaign, so I think it was enough to consider the price. It's subtle if you return to the usual fee...

GGuest UserWe've just come back from a wonderful holiday in Japan and had our first ryoken experience with Kotonoydo Musashino. Their website really helps you select the apartment that's most appropriate for you. We had selected the Yamabuki room. This is actually a little house that is set a little apart from the main building but this means that you've got great privacy and quiet. As part of the booking, you can select a dinner plan - definately the highlight for us! More on this later. If you have any dietary requirement, let them know. They can certainly accomodate you. On arrival, ladies are offered a choice of yukata. Men - you have yukata in the room. You will be asked if you would like to have breakfast served in your room or (and I would recommend this) if you'd like to have breakfast in the park opposite the Ryoken. You're shown the facilities and of course, the Onsen, before being shown to your room. This ryoken only had one shared bath type (seperate for males and females) but some rooms have their own private baths too - so select the room type that you're looking for. You are staying in Ryoken, you are not staying in a high-end Western hotel - and that's WHY you're choosing a Ryoken like this. Its all about the experience. You'll be served proper Matcha tea on arrival in your room before getting into your yukata. Make use of the Onsen (pay attention to bathing etiquette!). And then comes the meal. Your room attendant will come and serve your kaiseki meal, course by course - savour and enjoy! Our attendant (Miya-san) did a great job and together we muddled through my rudimentary Japanese and her English. After dinner, go back to the Onsen and relax while your room attendant changes the room for sleeping, laying out the beds and sheets for you. Now - is sleeping on a tatami mat the most comfortable experience? No - but it is an experience! In the morning, head back to the Onsen for a great 'wake-up' before going to reception to collect your breakfast bento box and head over to the park. We had the entire park to ourselves, except for a few deer, with a wonderful view down into Nara. We only stayed one night but you could certainly use this Ryoken as a base if your spending more time to explore Nara. Great hospitality and great memories! Highly recommended.
GGuest UserThis guest house is located at the entrance of Mt. Wakakusa. ● Room The room only has large towels, toothbrushes, hair dryers, hangers, beds and windows. There is no TV, hand towels, yukata, etc. The downside is that the floor is creaking just a little walk, so even if there are people walking upstairs or corridors, you can see it. Also, there is no place to eat nearby in the morning or at night, so let's eat or buy it in front of the station. ● Common section There is a tea set and a dining space in the common section. There is one shared washroom, one toilet 2, and one shower booth 3 each 々 shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. Since the number of rooms is small, I could use it comfortably without wearing it with other people. ● Transportation Transportation costs about 1200 yen by taxi from Kintetsu Nara Station. If you have time for the bus, there is a 100 yen bus so you can get there nearby. It will take less than 30 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Nara Station.
