Hotels near Blue Star Studio, Nice

We intended to only stay here for its proximity to the airport, as we would be taking a flight to Rome the next day. It also was right next door to Nice’s botanical garden and it’s miniscule Asian museum which we could visit right after we checked in. Unfortunately, that one day expanded to seven because we had everything stolen out of our car ( by gypsies, per the Carabinieri) by the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, including my wife’s portable oxygen concentrator, which we were unable to replace in time to get on the plane to Rome ( airlines will not allow you to fly without one after you have had a doctor certify that you need to use it while flying on the plane ). So instead of spending the next 12 days or so seeing Caserta, Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast, etc., we spent more than half of that time just trying to still find a place to purchase a replacement concentrator. It did give us more time to see what this hotel was about. We had two somewhat different rooms, as we kept on extending our stay one or two days at a time and eventually had to switch because the room was booked by someone else. Both rooms had an almost college dorm feel, but that wasn’t bad, just a little minimalist. We got a larger room and it was plenty big, which we needed. It was reasonably bright, with big windows. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was also fairly big and the shower worked well. The second room was very similar, but a little smaller, yet still perfectly adequate for our needs. The TV was a decent size and quality in both rooms. The hotel was newish and in good shape. The staff was young, competent and professional. Mostly friendly, with one jarring episode that temporarily left a bad taste in our mouths. The next day he was fine. Sometimes, you just catch someone at their worst. The location is great for the airport, less so to see the tourist sites. You can take the tram which stops frequently very close to the hotel is cheap and takes maybe 10 minutes to go downtown. A taxi will cost 12-15 euros. What’s the bottom line? It was a perfectly fine stay. No major defects. Certainly if you need a place a to stay overnight before taking a flight out of the airport, this should suit your needs, particularly the large rooms for families, who might enjoy the breakfast ( we did not indulge – we are cheap ). I would probably stay at the Hotel Cote D’Azur, which was better situated for tourism purposes. Just a quick word about Nice. While Nice has a number of places to see, none are overwhelming, including the very good, but much smaller Chagall museum. In fact, the cathedral, the Matisse museum, and the Musée du Palais Lascaris are actually underwhelming. Yet I highly recommend visiting Nice, as it is one of the most pleasant and relaxing places we have ever visited. The walk along the water and the views from up high are lovely. The hotel is located one block away from the beach and right in front of a Tramway station, which is very good, since you probably will have to take the tramway (or walk around 20-30 min) to get into the restaurants and the old town. This tramway line is the one that gets into the airport and on the turistical points. Trip offered a category of room that, according to the hotel staff, does not exist on the hotel (triple bed). I was traveling with a friend and we didn't want to share the same bed. First, staff didn't want to change our room saying they were complete. After insisting, they found another room with 2 beds, but the AC didn't work fine on this new room. After the check-in, the staff member forgot to give my passport back. When I asked for it, he said that ”he wanted to keep seeing my picture because I was very pretty” 🙄. Unecessary, embarassing and not funny at all. Rooms are comfortable enough and correct for a budget hotel.

We had booked this hotel for a concert. Excellent choice : close to the stadium , close to the tram to go to the center before the concert , close to the convenience (broadcake , bank etc) parking (free)is a real more The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. I recommend this place and one thing is safe , we will come back if he has a good concert at the Allianz !

Overall is quite clean and good service

Nice hotel, rooms are small but adequate (recommend it for couples or solo), breakfast is basic but good enough. The old town, marina and promenade are all easily accessible (couple minutes of walk), and the area around the hotel is filled with restaurants, bars etc. This might be the only downside, it was very noisy in the party ‘rush hour’ but if you are looking for night life, this hotel is right by the center of it. Overall a very positive experience.

THE ROOM: spacious and had not only a good bed but room enough to walk around and open a suitcase. There was a desk area by the window and a small sitting area with a bench by the head of the bed. The room was modern and clean and smelled lovely. It was theoretically quiet as it was facing towards the back of the building but the windows have to remain shut as some guests might come and smoke and chat on the terrace (it admittedly happened only once and until someone shouted at them to go to their room). The main problem was some rather loud and repetitive structural sound, was loud enough to wake me. At first I thought that the upstair neighbours were moving a piece of furniture every 2 minutes but it made little sense. I concluded that it was one of the elevators that had some sort of issue and emitted the sound of a dying whale from early in the morning until late into the night. THE STAFF: the staff was friendly and helpful. However, be aware that you will be charged 10 euros to get into your room if you arrive at the hotel before 15:00 and your room is ready. You will be charged 5 euros to leave a suitcase in storage after 10:00 on the day of your departure. You also have to book and pay for a maid to come and change your towels and empty your bin. The hotel was pleasant and affordable but I have never had to pay for these kind of services in any hotel I have stayed at.

Our room had a large balcony overlooking the marina and sea. Excellent location if you are looking for a home base for exploring the Côte d’Azur as it is near the train station and bus route. Very clean though-out the hotel. Cold breakfast with lots of choices in a bright, comfortable room looking out at the harbor. Helpful and pleasant English speaking staff. We were extremely happy with our six night stay.

The value of sustainability is exactly right there. There is everything you need but not too much of it.  Except from the promising perspective, there is enough of it. The view from the roof terrace is amazingly beautiful I saw the sunrise there. The free parking were our rescue for our broken car that needed a new battery. After a very good breakfast for nine euros we then collected new power and repaired the car. I would like to go back there at any time. Specially recommending is the first floor that is free of barrier. The hotel operators are very friendly and professional. Cleanliness, carefulness, sustainability and professionalism: These are the four stars I would give to this hotel.
