"Pros: The lake view from the room is amazing. The breakfast is great, with many varieties and high quality, and is very attentive. Sauna and swimming pool are all available. Disadvantages: The room facilities are a bit old and not sturdy. The mattress is soft. Location: You need to take a train from Lucerne. All in all, it’s suitable for a weekend getaway and just lying around."

"The room with the terrace I chose had a fantastic, expansive view. I drove there, and a staff member helped me park at the hotel entrance without any extra parking fees. I arrived during peak check-in time, and after a short wait, the hotel served welcome champagne. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Since the terrace room was in a detached building, it was a bit of a walk, but the corridor had information about the hotel's history and many photos of Audrey Hepburn, which made me, an Audrey Hepburn fan, very happy. The room was quite clean, but the toiletries weren't very high-end; the quality was just average. The welcome snacks, macarons, were delicious, and there was even a handwritten card from the hotel staff. Although the content was somewhat formulaic, it's not easy to write such a long message by hand. The hotel highly recommends the spa, so I had to try it. The view from the infinity pool was truly amazing; I highly recommend it. There's also a small chapel nearby where Audrey Hepburn had her wedding, which I recommend checking out. Overall, I was very satisfied; it's what you'd expect from a high-end hotel. I would definitely go again if I have the chance. The food at the hotel restaurant was just average."

"Overall the hotel is good to stay and the lady boss is very friendly. But there are two things need to be improved. The bed is too high and the bed side is made of thin wood, the fabric which covers the wood is broken, which hurts the skin. We had two courses dinner in hotel which cost 70 CHF per person, one half-plate salad(chef specially made for us as we want to eat some vegetables)and one beef, the beef is very very salty. The food quality wasn’t match with the price. During our more than one month travel in Europe, this meal is one of the most expensive but taste the worst."

"The Taverne 1879 restaurant is part of the Bürgenstock Resort, above Lake Lucerne. You can reach the Bürgenstock by car, but it is much more interesting to take the catamaran ferry from Lucerne across Lake Lucerne to Kehrsiten and from there take a funicular up the very steep stretch of about 500 meters. Once you get to the top, you will find a beautifully designed complex with several buildings that belong to the resort and encourage you to take a walk. For lunch, we went to the Taverne 1879, a very well-kept building in the Alpine style with a wonderful view of the alpine pastures and mountains. Ordering and paying for the food is done with a cell phone and a QR code assigned to each table, which worked wonderfully. The quality of the cuisine met expectations. Like the house, the service is very well-kept, friendly and courteous. Combined with a short hike on the Bürgenstock and a coffee in the resort itself at the end, this was a day trip for us, a unique experience, although all in all quite expensive."
