Shilin Hotels with Free Parking.

Clean room with nice atmosphere, communal terrace, great air con/heating, and lovely plants at the reception. Good location, a few minutes Didi ride from the Scenic Area. Sympathetic host. Only calm was the shower, the water was eather really hot or really cold, you couldn’t quite set it inbetween. And there is no elevator, but it’s only a few flights of stairs and the host alao helped with the luggages.

The rooms were really thoughtfully designed. We booked three family rooms for our large group, and they even provided disposable toilet seat covers. The towels and slippers were of good quality. The host couple, who relocated from Shenzhen, have created an environment and room details that truly rival a five-star hotel. The bedding was especially excellent – apparently, it was also brought from Shenzhen. The duvets were goose down, light and warm! The host couple were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived until we left. They even treated us to some Pu-erh tea. Their professional tea-brewing skills, combined with excellent tea and their hospitality, made us feel right at home! Book with confidence, the experience is fantastic! This was by far the BEST accommodation we stayed in China!! We booked two rooms because I'm travelling with my sister and her boyfriend. Both rooms were extremely clean, the best comfortable beds ever, hot shower, air con, all the toiletries were good quality and the staff were amazing!!!! They helped us out with everything!! Even though they don't speak English or any other language (like elsewhere in China), they were extremely helpful and we managed to communicate with the translator. We stayed two nights but we would have loved to stay longer which was not possible because visa's expiring soon. When we got there, they made us delicious noodles with beef and vegetables and my brother in law is still dreaming to get the same tasty noodles somewhere else in China 😊 We don't know the names of the hosts, maybe they are wife and husband (we are not sure) but surely this was the top accommodation and treatment we have received in China so we would like to thank you two again for everything you have done for us. We are sure your next guests will enjoy their stay at your place just the same as we did. Thank you from Sarah, Myriam and Fabio.

The service attitude of the hotel front desk staff is very good. The room is very spacious and has an unobstructed view. You can see the panoramic view of the stone forest. The light is very good and you can make tea. It is very comfortable to stay. It is worth recommending.

Great location that it is near a lot of food places, a store, and the Stone Forest. Even though I already visited Stone Forest on my visit to Kunming in 2018, this was still a good room in that I get my privacy. Hotel workers were nice in that they gave me more water and wanted to make my bed even though I didn't need it. I liked how it had a heater in there to keep me warm whenever the room got too cold. The thing that I was unsure of is how much freedom and accessibility I get in being able to cook things in the kitchen at times and I was confused about whether I was allowed to eat the food that the cook makes, or it is only for guests that order food and pay for it from him. Sometimes the cook is unpredictable in that I don't know when he comes to cook between the lunch and dinner hours. The front desk women were friendly and helpful in giving me information about certain things. I appreciate it when they loaned me a phone charger temporarily when mine broke until I can get a new replacement one. Thank You for that. The only thing I would have to say, is that it is too far from the city center from the train station in where I need to be in order to catch the train to Hekou and cross the border into Vietnam.

For foreign tourists who want to visit the Karst Stone scenic areas, ie Stone Forest, the hotel is just a short walk down the road. Breakfast is buffet style and good. Meals can also be purchased. Locationwise necessitates the use of a vehicle to get to the hotel. Trip.com needs to update the hotel's name on its site. The Hotel's name is not Shilinxuan Holiday Inn. The name or names on the signage is Sloane Place and Holiday Inn Bosheng Shilin.

The location is very convenient. Bus 90 goes directly from the train station to this hotel. It's a 50-meter walk through the building's lobby (we left from here, too, and walked back to the train station. We left the hotel and boarded the bus directly. No need to walk and look for stops). It's a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the Stone Forest ticket office. And from there, the shuttle to the Stone Forest is a 2-3-minute walk. If you're coming, like us, for a day trip to the Stone Forest, the room is nice and affordable. Cleanliness is definitely a drawback. It hasn't been renovated in a while. But for this price, you shouldn't expect super cleanliness.

Satisfied with good environment

The hygiene is impeccable, and the separation of dry and wet areas is quite good. The environment is also good and quite unique. There is almost no service. I wanted to check the screen projection at night but it wouldn't open for a long time. When I contacted my boss on Ctrip, the message was read but not replied. The shower instructions are unclear. It says hot on the left and cold on the right, but actually you have to turn it clockwise 20 degrees to get hot water. The room looks high-end at first glance, with large windows and a wide view, but in reality it is disappointing. When we arrived at the hotel at night, there was no bus stop nearby, so we could only take a taxi or ride a shared bike, which was generally inconvenient. If you are going to Shilin Scenic Area, I don't recommend staying here, but the horse meat downstairs is delicious, which is a plus for this place.

A nice simple hotel for anyone who is looking for a cheap and convenient place to stay. The place is somewhat away from the main road and the nights are really quiet, you can even hear the crickets! The check-in was fast and smooth and the lady at the reception professional and very friendly. The breakfast costs 15¥ and you can eat as much as you want.
