Passal Hostel

The staff at Passal Hostel were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are well equipped and overall everything looks very new and well maintained. The breakfast was also great. I can only recommend the hostel.

Our stay was pleasant at Paulo's hostel, he recommended many places to visit during our stay. The breakfast included as it is a hostel is excellent, the rooms have comfortable beds and air conditioning, the bathrooms are functional even if not too clean. At the end of our stay we asked to leave our luggage in the hostel until the evening, the service costs 5 euros per bag but there is no closed room to leave them in, they are left under the stairs within everyone's reach, having to pay for the service I I would have expected a more suitable place to store them but it wasn't a problem.

I have to share our stay at @hostelpassal, where Paulo & Anabela welcomed us like nephews from the continent. Even before arriving, we were finding everything so easy with the help of Paulo, who in addition to picking us up at the airport, also helped us rent a car, book activities and define a super complete itinerary with a map that he He made it himself (the best map of the island of S. Miguel, without a doubt!) The accommodation was always excellent, with a mega “Good Morning” and an excellent breakfast. We had the opportunity to get to know the other accommodations in the Passal group and I can only say that they are the best on the entire island 😍 The experience at Hostel Passal was so positive that to anyone visiting Ponta Delgada, regardless of nationality, I will always recommend this place for your stay. Paulo is fantastic and always available. The suite is in a different structure than the hostel so you have a lot of privacy. New apartment, Ikea style, well equipped but the bathroom has a terrible sewage smell. Perfect location but if you have a rental car it is difficult to find a place, you will be forced to walk a bit or put it on the pavement. Some details are lost: There was no toilet paper in the room, we had to request it. The bathroom bin was full, I asked and it was promptly emptied. The shower gel in the bathroom ran out after 1 day. I asked for a refill but when we returned after midnight it hadn't been added. I showered with dish soap. During a 6-night stay the towels were never changed or the apartment cleaned although cleaning was scheduled after 3-4 days. Breakfast is included (milk, American coffee, cereals, 2 slices of bread, 1 jam, 1 butter, 2 slices of ham and 1 of cheese). In my opinion, the same breakfast cannot be offered to those who stay in a hostel dormitory and to those who pay more than 100 euros per night. A difference should be made. Overall I would not return for the amount paid although the apartment was very comfortable and new.
