Hotel Satel

Hotel Satel ★★★

📍 Mnoheľova 826/5, Poprad

"Overnight stay for an early flight, the hotel has a huge reception which could do with some plants and flowers to make it feel a little more welcoming. Its location is very good and only a short walk to the main town and Forum shopping centre. The rooms are very basic, you have to ask for a kettle and cups for tea and they don’t provide any tea bags or milk. Breakfast, the hot plates and food even at 7am were only lukewarm however, there was a reasonable choice of other items so not a problem. Taxi to the airport 7 euros and only a 10 min drive."

📍 Brežný riadok 189/5, Poprad

"We did a quick overnight at Vila Mery on our way from Poprad to the High Tatras. The staff were so accommodating and pleasant. The breakfast was a lovely buffet of items. Families would enjoy time at this pension. The ample outdoor space has a children’s play structures. The pension is close to the local shopping forum and pedestrian shopping area. It is located on a very quiet street."

Hotel Europa ★★★★

📍 Jiřího Wolkera 464/11, Poprad

""Stumbling upon Hotel Európa café while waiting at Poprad station was like stepping back into a Golden Era. Between the classy, historic surroundings and the impeccable service, I truly felt like royalty. Their cakes and coffee are the ultimate way to turn a simple travel delay into a high-society experience. If you’re in Poprad, don’t just pass through—stop here for a taste of the aristocracy!""

Hotel AquaCity Riverside ★★★

📍 Športová 1397/1, Spišská Sobota, Poprad

"This hotel is convenient for aquacity visitors. Other than that you wouldnt pick this place as is. Its a refurbished stadium tribune. Reception staff were incredibly nice and the small restaurant is also very nice with nice homey buffet food. Considering it was a buffet, it was actually the best i ever had, nothing was overcooked, soggy or cold. Pros are: good convenience for aquacity, free aquacity passes within accomodation, kind and helpful staff, buffet style dining so you dont have to wait for a la carte, bathrooms are very nice - well used tiny space, location just off the motorway. Cons: expensive if you dont want to use free aquacity passes, not sound proof, you can hear literally everything that happens around you, the rooms are tiny, even though we were given a larger room according to the receptionist. Hotel AquaCity Seasons ★★★★
"First Impression and Rooms The hotel presented three double rooms with noticeably varied layouts: one had a sofa, another a balcony, and the third, though lacking both, featured a larger bathroom. While the rooms were aesthetically pleasing, the experience was marred by excessive heat. Despite turning off the heating, the air conditioning maintained a frustratingly high temperature of 26–28°C, making it challenging to cool the rooms below 22°C. Additionally, the air conditioning system was excessively noisy, even in quiet mode, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. Questionnaires and feedback forms were provided in the rooms, but no pens or pencils were available to complete them. The in-room coffee was instant Nescafé, which felt underwhelming compared to the potential of offering Nespresso machines. On the positive side, room cleaning and towel service were provided daily, and the mattresses were comfortable. However, the beds often consisted of two separate mattresses pushed together rather than one large bed, which could affect comfort for some guests. Check-In and Check-Out The check-in and check-out processes were fairly smooth and efficient. The hotel offers an online check-in option, which seems convenient in theory. However, this feature is unavailable when booking more than one room. Even when using the online check-in, guests are required to upload pictures of their passports, but the hotel still requests physical passports upon arrival, making the online form feel redundant. Hotel Facilities The hotel provided a chip bracelet for access to the facilities, but the use of these fabric bands seemed questionable from a hygiene perspective, as they appeared to be recycled. The pool area was enjoyable, and while the equipment and surroundings were generally good, they did show signs of aging. The sauna selection was impressive, though there were strict rules for use, many of which were ignored by other guests. The hotel enforces a strict no slippers/flip-flops policy in the sauna, citing hygiene reasons. However, this felt somewhat inconsistent, as some guests had visible toenail fungal infections, which seemed even more unhygienic. Additionally, the floors around the facilities were slippery, and I observed several people falling, so caution is advised. Dining Experience Dining at the hotel was the biggest disappointment. Coffee, tea, and juices were not available during dinner, only at breakfast, despite the all-inclusive package. One evening, a free jug of tap water was placed on our table, but on the second night, we were charged €3 for the same tap water. This charge was justified as part of their policy, but we were not informed in advance that tap water would incur a charge, which felt misleading and unfair. On a positive note, the hotel offered some typical Slovakian dishes, which were flavorful, along with healthy options. However, the selection included commercially packed items like pâtés and soft cheese, which felt lazy"

"Stayed here 3 nights with my friend. The location couldn't be better. You will see this beautiful art deco styled historical building just after you exit the train station. The bus station is just about 100 m away, city center only 10 min by walk. Many thanks to all the helpful and kind staff. The room was spacious and very clean, so was all the hotel. The restaurant was great, all the food very tasty, I really recommend their cuisine, coffee etc. There is also a smoking room there. I would definitely come again. Many thanks I would improve the breakfast buffet. The variety could be better for a 4* hotel. Even though this region of Slovakia is not particularly hot, the climate is changing even here, so someone would miss air con in the room during summer."

Hotel AquaCity Riverside ★★★
"The hotel is inside the stadium tribune, which is quite an interesting fact. You have to look very close to see the entrance of the hotel, but the hotel is great. The rooms are modern, clean, cozy, warm and you have enough space for all you stuff (including ski equipment). The hotel is very well located, in a quite neighborhood but very close to the old town and the city center. You get free entrance to the Aquapark, which is a great bonus. The restaurant of the hotel is small, but nice decorated. The food is OK, always warm and you have enough diversity, so you have from where to chose. The staff is very professional, friendly, nice and willing to help. Another plus point of this hotel is the fact that you have easy access to the highway to go to the ski resorts."

"A great stay on my trip to Poland, and I wish it was longer!!! Excellent place which has a wonderful rooms and a great hosts. One night stay which was perfect when we had a peaceful sleep and then a good breakfast. The way they help you to enter the property was very good, after 2PM, they send you a code to a box outside to collect the key to the front door and your room. Very close to a large supermarket. Plenty of car parking inside the property. Would love to go back."
