"Wow, what a great place to unwind. This was an ancient villa that had so much history and charm. The staff can give great history of the home. To be clear, there are big, roomy suites, but we chose to stay in one of the smaller rooms upstairs. It was very quiet, great ac, good shower with hot water, comfortable beds, etc. however, we spent much more time in the sitting rooms or the porch. The staff will bend over backwards to be of any help. This isn’t a holiday inn or Hilton, it’s a place to unwind and relax and recharge. Highly recommended."

"The hotel bedding is too soft, the pillows and mattress are too soft, which led to a stiff neck the next day. The middle of the bed sank in while sleeping. The room space is a bit small, especially with a vertical metal bar in the middle of the desk/bar area, which makes the space feel even smaller when working on a computer or reading. Breakfast was decent, with vegetable salads, meats, and bread. The location is convenient, an 8-minute walk from Prato Centrale station. There's a small river next to the road in front of the hotel with a fitness trail, good for walks when the weather gets warmer."

"I would give Alessandro and the team at Villa Rucellai 6 stars if I could, we loved it here. The property is absolutely stunning and steeped in history, charm and character. This is as far away from a “chain hotel” experience as you could get and we loved it. Alessandro was a great host and full of stories and personality. The terrace is beautiful, especially at night as there isn’t too much light pollution. A great authentic, rustic Tuscan experience with easy access to Florence and Lucca. The villa is a couple of miles from the town of Prato (which is a gem of a place) which is easily walkable to the train. Thanks to the team at Villa Rucellai for making the start of our Tuscany adventure so memorable."
