Nebula Hotel by Ine's ★★★
"Good amenities, friendly staff, good service"
Boutique Hotel 43 Amsterdam - Zaandam ★★
"The hotel is located in the windmill village, with free parking. It takes 20 minutes to take a train directly from here to Amsterdam, which is a very convenient choice. I feel very comfortable and convenient."
Zaan Hotel Amsterdam - Zaandam ★★★★
"I stayed here recently and had already prepaid for my stay. However, I was mistakenly charged for an extra night at checkout because the receptionist did not check that my booking had been paid in advance. I only realized after my bank notified me of the charge. I returned to the desk and the refund was processed, but this should not have happened in the first place. I appreciate that the issue was corrected, but I encourage the hotel to ensure staff carefully verify payments to avoid unnecessary stress for guests."
Van der Valk Hotel Volendam - Recently Renovated ★★★★
"For families it’s amazing. Big rooms, a pool where kids are welcome and the location is perfect. The hotel is old and luckily is undergoing a much needed renovation. It didn’t disturb us. The reception and booking staff where amazing. We have special needs kids and needed a nice and quiet room and the staff was able to provide it. The pop-up restaurant is nice but the quality of the food (for that price) could be better. Our waitress was really friendly, but not all restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. All-in-all it was a nice stay. "
Via Amsterdam ★★★
"I had an amazing stay at this hostel and truly enjoyed every moment. The place was very clean, well-organized, and the rooms were comfortable with everything a traveler might need. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, making it easy to meet other guests and feel at home. The staff were incredibly kind, always smiling, and ready to help with recommendations or any requests. The location was also perfect, close to public transportation, attractions, and local restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay."
Best Western Zaan Inn ★★★
"The restaurant is a bit old, not bad, but the staff at the counter actually told me they didn't have a kettle, which was ridiculous. I had to tell them I wanted to leave a star before they would provide one. 🥲🥲🥲"
Hotel Babylon Heerhugowaard - Alkmaar ★★★★
"We booked a room for 1 night travelling down from north Holland going back to Belgium. The picture used to advertise this place gives the impression of a hotel in an oasis of green and water when in fact it’s perched in an industrial estate, on main roads and a roundabout. It’s not a hotel but a motel that has in reality no special features, lobby area, apart bar or amenities. It is a modern collection of 2 buildings with a car park in between them, how it gets a 4 star rating is beyond me. We ate in the restaurant and that was good, with excellent staff service, good value for money. The breakfast was decent but the ‘cooked food’ abysmal, we arrived at 08.45, the scrambled egg has rubberized by then, the bacon getting cold and hard and heavens knows what happened to the fried eggs? The bedrooms are large but dark, brown walls, dark gray furniture and little natural light. The bed was very, very comfortable and we slept well. Bathroom also large, with an excellent shower. Something for everyone could be found on the TV. This place is good for arriving in the evening, eating in (or not) sleeping and departing and probably not much more. Have to say the staff we excellent and well motivated but it was very expensive and not worth the money we paid. "
Boutique Hotel Brasa Beemster ★★★★
"From the checking in process to checking out, this stay was great. The service from the lovely ladies was quick, friendly and professional. The lift for the suitcases was a bonus - stairs were spirally which would have made it hard. The room (we had the Comfort Double) was small but functional for our short stay. Bed was cosy, the room was clean, bathroom a nice size. Free parking right outside was a bonus. Being an older building we found the doors a bit heavy to open but that’s the only minor issue. Would happily stay again."
