Hotel Tres Anclas
7.7 (53 reviews)

Hotel Tres Anclas ★★★

📍 Carrer de la Valldigna, 11, Grau i Platja

"Hotel almost at the end of the coast, but it has its advantages - close to wild beaches, more activity to walk to the center and more peace in the area. The hotel is very clean, we could see how the ladies clean even the inside of the wardrobe in the room. I would change the bedspreads. Beautiful view from the balcony to the sea (we had such a room booked). Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment is the breakfast. Zero vegetables, always the same set, dry scrambled eggs, sausages. Always the same sweet pastries. On the third day we had had enough. Also limited dishes for dinner, satisfied about 60%... but nothing special either. Drinks are additionally payable. Overall, I would go back to the hotel, but without meals."

Hotel San Luis ★★★

📍 Passeig Marítim de Neptú, 5, Grau i Platja

"I have just returned after a weeks holiday at hotel san luis with my sister and my brother and his wife. I had a wonderful holiday and this was partly due to the hotel san luis. My room was fantastic, a very comfortable bed and every facility I needed, with air conditioning, that saved my life on more than one occasion! The food was outstanding, the quality and quantity was exceptional, the menus creative and exciting. Above all the staff were amazing, without exception they were friendly and charming and nothing was too much trouble. They worked hard and were ultra efficient and they made you feel relaxed and important whether it was early morning or very late at night. My brother and his wife have been going to hotel san luis for four years and I can understand why. Highly recommended. Thank you hotel San Luis."

Hotel Tres Anclas ★★★
"One negative point was the cleanliness of room 943. There were even sunflower seed shells next to the sofa bed in the apartment. The buffet was extremely limited. They serve churros, but by 9:00 AM they were out of chocolate. The savory breakfast consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausages. The rice dishes were very good, though (use packets of aioli, because the mortar and pestle mix is just garlic mayonnaise. So be mindful of egg allergens). The waitresses in the cafeteria were very friendly."

Las Dunas ★★★★
"Overall, we liked it. But if I look at certain things individually, there's room for improvement. The menu inside the restaurant is good in terms of price, but on one occasion they ran out of one of the ingredients (York ham). They didn't tell us, and we paid the price listed on the menu for the whole thing. When we noticed, we told the staff, and the response was neither efficient nor reasonable. "I don't make the menus." First, not making a menu doesn't mean the kitchen doesn't follow the ingredients list. Second, the mistake should be acknowledged immediately, and excuses about not having ham should not be made when it's listed on the menu. Third, a solution should be sought; the customer shouldn't be expected to provide one. And fourth, if a solution isn't offered, and the customer's suggestion is reasonable and makes perfect sense, there shouldn't be any murmuring from the kitchen. If an ingredient is missing, a better one is arranged. If that's not possible, an apology is offered, and a similar ingredient is added, but no inappropriate comments are ever made… it's important to emphasize that the customer wasn't at fault. On the other hand, there aren't enough sun loungers at the small pools. The pools aren't very clean. The morning café staff is professional and friendly. Some of the women have light hair, and another has dreadlocks. But the evening staff leaves something to be desired. There's a very nice cleaning lady who's always ready to help; she has very short hair. The reception staff are friendly, pleasant, and professional."

Hugo Beach Hotel ★★
"The hotel is small but quirky. We had a superior room which provided us with a roof terrace which had 2 sofas and was partly under cover. There were roller shutters as well as a toldo and a super efficient air conditioning unit. Unfortunately the advertised coffee making facility was not provided and we never got it during our 4 night stay either. There is no fridge in the room but a small one in the reception area for everybody to use. We were a bit disappointed that there was no small table included next to the armchair. That would have been useful. Also there were no shelves in the wardrobe. A double wardrobe with 4 clothes hangers but no shelves nor drawers is a bit puny. Entrance to the front door and your room is via a code which is an excellent idea. The hotel was very quiet even though it allowed dogs. The location is a short stroll from the harbour and beginning of the promenade and there are a number of restaurants and cafes, panerderias and a Más y Más close by. All in all a nice budget hotel. When you go to restaurants nearby ,note that they open quite late in the evening (7.30 at the earliest) and ask for prices up front. We ordered a bottle of house wine for a certain price only to be told after a while that only the more expensive one was available. That happened in 2 different restaurants The cafe at the corner does lovely tostadas for breakfast, it is just across the road. Several eateries in a side street leading to a plaza also more or less across the street from the hotel Superior room on top (4th) floor with high ceiling (lift stops at floor 3) is spacious with a lovely terrace If you bring your dog, you pay a deposit of €30 at the beginning of your stay, which will be returned provided your dog hasn't done any damage "

Hotel San Luis ★★★
"Tremendous little hotel right on the beach, overlooking the marina. Spotlessly clean, welcoming and has everything you could need for a pleasant stay. But the staff are what make it - extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful - nothing is too much trouble and they were very patient with my terrible attempts at Spanish! A bus stop right outside will take you to Gandia town, the train station, the shopping mall or wherever. Highly recommend it for solo travel. You will sleep like a log too, the beds are great! I got a nice big bathroom and a lovely terrace to sit out on, and there’s a fridge, plus you can get the bbc news channel. Thanks to the team, hope to see you again soon!"
