Arriving is a nightmare there was no sign pointing to our room number on the floor. If u are arriving by car they should give you instructions on how to find the secret entrance

Closest hotel to the office I was working out of. Hey, if you have done your research on Sa Francisco, you will know it is not the safest place to be in. I wouldn't knock the hotel for that. Regardless, they make the best of it. The receptionist was nice, room was not the largest. I would put expense ride-share into your itinerary. Marriott, so get your Elite Night stay.

The room was very neat and quiet. The bathroom was really lovely. Real tile and real glass doors! We were in town due to our son’s medical procedure and the hotel was very conveniently located. It’s a wonderful old building with wonderful updates!

First solo trip and was very pleased with my entire experience. Safety is always a concern of mine and having to use a key card to get to your level in the elevator was a nice touch. Definitely planning to come back soon! Also having access to mels kitchen made is simple to grab a quick dinner with out having to step foot outside of the hotel.

We have two rooms reserved at $260 each. We arrived May 13 at 9 am. The front desk assigned me a first floor room facing a wall. I asked for a different room and she muttered about something and then assigned me a room on the fifth floor again facing a wall. The rooms are incredibly small for the price. The outside location is quite rundown. No wonder they lock the front door even in the morning. We ended up entering from the restaurant downstairs. Don’t use this hotel !!!! This Courtyard Marriott gives the rest of the brand a bad reputation!!

TL;DR this Courtyard has a decent location, safe, clean, and get the basic stuff done right. Just don’t expect a nice view from your window as you probably facing the building next door. My detailed reviews: 1) Location: it’s a bit sketchy as it’s in the corner of Tenderloin, but honestly it’s not that bad. I walked to a convenient store nearby at night and it was okay. Also there’s a Starbucks across, a number of bus stops including bus 38 that will take you to the center or to Land’s End easily. Overall it’s decent. 2) Lobby/Reception: when coming first time, you need to ring-in so the front desk will unlock the door for you. When entering the lobby, it reminded me of independent boutique hotel which is very cool. Reception is fast and efficient, associates are friendly and helpful. Not much elite benefits but that is expected, so it’s all good. You also need to tap-in your key to access the elevator. 3) Room: At 23-24sqm is cramp BUT it’s very well done I’d say. There’s not many in-room amenities, but I do appreciate enough storage to keep my stuff organized, decent lighting, comfy bed, the aircon works well, and the interrior looks nice for a Courtyard brand. It feels chic enough but not overwhelming. The bathroom is fully functional, although the shower pressure could’ve been stronger. I don’t have any view from my room, it’s facing to another building but I do have enough sunlight that coming through it. 4) Other aspects: There’s no onsite restaurant, Mel’s Kitchen that connected next door is operate independently so you can’t charge to your room to get Bonvoy points. I did try having dinner there, service is slow but understandable seems they only have 2 staffs that doing most of the things. Food is okay, but nothing special. Service in the hotel also decent, the hotel honor my daily housekeeping request, and the housekeepers did their wonderful job. Overall, it’s a decent stay for 3-nights. I’ll probably comeback if I have other chance to visit the area.
