"As a history enthusiast, I took my mother to Shaoshan for the New Year's holiday, and it was truly a wonderful place! I found it very interesting and learned more about Chairman Mao's life. The hotel we stayed at was excellent—very clean and satisfactory, just as I've always been impressed with Lavande Hotels. The price was also very reasonable. The receptionist, Ms. Banxia, was very warm and attentive, and the driver was also very kind. Excellent service—a must-try! I definitely want to visit Shaoshan again. I hadn't done any research and missed some of the important attractions. Next time I'm more familiar with the area, I'll definitely book this hotel again! It's very convenient, being so close to the high-speed rail station and the scenic area!"

"This time I was satisfied with the homestay where Chairman Mao lived. I booked it on Ctrip. The owner called in advance to inquire about the arrival time. I took the high-speed rail to Shaoshan South Station and the owner picked me up in person. The room was clean and tidy. I had three meals in the store. I ate Mao's braised pork. The homestay was not far from the scenic spots. The distance was just right. The square memorial hall was not far away. I was satisfied with this trip."

"The location is excellent, right next to the scenic area of Chairman Mao's former residence. It's about a 7-10 minute walk to the scenic spots. The guesthouse itself is beautifully designed and has a cozy courtyard and clean rooms. From the second floor, you can even see the surrounding fish ponds and small bridges. The proprietress is very welcoming; she'll add you on WeChat a day in advance and arrange for a free pick-up from the high-speed rail station. She's also keen to help you plan your itinerary. A special mention goes to the delicious food cooked at the guesthouse. It's flavorful and hygienic, especially the stir-fried shredded potatoes and the 'farmer's three fresh' dish. If you don't feel like going out, you can easily enjoy all three meals right at the guesthouse."
