"We stayed at this guesthouse on our second night on the island. Since we were driving there, we called ahead to ask about parking. As soon as we entered the alley, an auntie came towards us, looking at us intently. We realized she was the guesthouse owner there to greet us, worried we wouldn't be able to find the place. After arriving, we put our things down and went out to explore. We returned very late that night, and the auntie asked what time we were getting up for breakfast and prepared it for us. The next morning, when we came downstairs, she brought us food; the fried dough sticks were freshly fried and very fragrant. After breakfast, as we were about to leave, I saw some tangerines on the auntie's table and really wanted one, so I asked her. To my surprise, she immediately put several from her basket in my bag for us to eat on the way. In the afternoon, after we finished exploring and came back to get our luggage, my husband got a bit of heatstroke because of the heat. I asked the auntie where we could buy some Huoxiang Zhengqi Water (a traditional Chinese medicine for heatstroke). She immediately got up, went and got a box for us, and even poured water over it because it tasted awful. The guesthouse owner brought out a lot of bottled water for us to take on the road. When we left, the elderly couple helped us with our things and saw us off. I casually complimented the dried shrimp drying by the door, and we were about to drive away when the auntie came in, got a bag, and filled a large bag for me to take home and eat, even telling me how best to cook them. This trip to Shengsi, staying at a guesthouse, felt like visiting relatives during a holiday. Although it was only for one night, the guesthouse owner really took care of us like a child. Because we were in a rush, I didn't even take pictures of the room, only a quick photo of the auntie seeing us off in the car as a memento. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Shengsi. Thank you again."
