"There was a storm at the time - Leonardo and Marta were there. They told me that the internet and internal phones were down. I had to use my cell phone to contact reception. In the room, the internal phone didn't mention the reception contact number, which I believe is mandatory. I expected fruit and water in the room as a welcome gift - nothing. I asked for an upgrade - to change the room from land view to river view - and they refused. Breakfast improved since the last time I was there."

"I don’t really know where to start! This charming Hotel is extraordinary, if you love art beautiful things and a slightly quirky vibe this is the place for you! If you want modern high-end fittings, luxury bathrooms and a polished look then I suggest you stay somewhere else! The communication from Guilia was first class, contacting us before we even arrived via WhatsApp and keeping in contact the whole time with information about our stay. The gardens are beautiful and have a rustic countryside feel which is incredible being that it’s in a town. The local area is very accessible and the local restaurants are well with a visit. Whilst we were looking around, we bumped into the owner of the Hotel who although he didn’t speak English proudly showed us round and we managed to understand most of what he chatted to us about. He showed us his artwork that decorate the walls, he is a very talented artist and showed us all the beautiful things that he had collected from around the world that decorate the Hotel, there are some exquisite pieces and it was a joy to look around and wonderful that he shares this space with his guests. The original Chapel to the Olive farm was a real treat and I spent some quiet time in this lovely room. Breakfast was lovely and I particularly liked the way that breakfast was presented on an individual tray, it stopped me over indulging like I always do on a Hotel breakfast buffet and was delicious!"

"My wife and I went here for a three night golfing break. We booked via a specialist golf holiday company upon their recommendation. This review will focus on four areas, namely: Check-in & Accommodation Food Faldo Course Christy O'Connor course Check-in & Accommodation: The greeting at reception was pleasant and we were given a 2 bed apartment when we had booked a 1 bed apartment. However they told us that the apartment was not ready as we were a couple of hours early. They then said that if we paid 10 euros/hour we could access the apartment early???? It's a barefaced contradiction but we paid 20 Euros as we just wanted to settle in. The apartment was lovely. Well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The views out of the rear patio were spectacular. However it was a long, long way from the clubhouse where we were going to take our breakfasts and evening meals. We actually walked to the clubhouse and it took 25 minutes. Not a journey you want before breakfast and certainly not one you would take in the dark given the numerous underfoot obstacles en-route. The resort did offer a complimentary shuttle service which sounds great but in practice is rather "hit and miss." The drivers do their best but with a single shuttle in service at any one time you may wait a while. Not ideal at all. Food: We opted for half board thus taking breakfast and dinner in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is light and airy and the staff mostly friendly. I say mostly because they do have "Breakfast buffet police" admonishing anyone who dares to take a banana out with them. Be warned! The food was pretty mediocre to be honest. The dinner menu looks OK but it wasn't particularly good. The fish dishes were acceptable but the steak and pork dishes were overcooked. The breakfast was a mixed bag. There was decent fruit juice, a very good fresh fruit platter and a good selection of cold meats and cheeses and bread. However there wasn't the option of "eggs to order" and the chafing dishes of scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms were lukewarm and rather unappetising. Faldo course: Easy check-in and buggy collection. Good practice facilities with the exception of the chipping area that consisted of rough the length of which was not found anywhere on the course itself. Challenging course with tees to suit most golfers. The bunkers were a mess though after the heavy rain the area had experienced the previous week. It wasn't worth raking them as many were just mud baths. I thought they should have made them all GUR to prevent further damage and speed up the round. The greens were very soft and receptive but unfortunately pockmarked with unrepaired pitch marks. It really annoys me that people don't repair pitch marks but unfortunately at holiday golf courses it seems to be a major issue. Another issue with this course is the fact that the rounds are so slow. The group ahead were continually searching for balls and eventually we had to endure a five hour plus r"

"This is not a 4* hotel, it’s a 3 at best. We stayed in a junior suite with was supposed to be 2 bedrooms but in reality it was a 1 bedroom suite where the living room was turned into a bedroom. The only storage was a wardrobe, there was no draws anywhere (not even in the bedside) so unless you wanted everything in the wardrobe all your stuff is out on display which makes the room constantly looked cluttered. The shower ran from boiling hot to freezing cold which is dangerous for a child - we asked for it to be fixed but it never was so I expect this a known problem which they consider normal. Breakfast was not great - they were constantly things running out - juice, fruit, condiments etc and you had to ask at least 4 different people who were all generally rude, would disappear and reappear without what you asked for. To be fair the men cleaning the tables outside were always friendly and working hard to keep clean. The location is excellent if you want to easily walk to lots of restaurants and the beach is just over the road. There were no sun bed wars either which was a nice relief, we often went down late morning/early afternoon and could easily get a bed - most times right by the pool. The pool was chilly, even in mid August so definitely not heated. Overall if you are looking for a proper 4* hotel avoid or lower your expectations. Personally so would not visit again."

"Our stay at Vale Fuzeiros Nature Guesthouse was exactly what we expected it to be. Surrounded by trees filled with birds and a herbs garden, the guesthouse breaths nature. Clean and comfortable rooms with full privacy, even if the large (covered) terrace is shared with other guests. Very nice breakfast buffet which made us look forward to it every morning of the week, not to forget the excellent coffee! Although a dinner menu is presented by the guesthouse, there is a typical Portuguese restaurant at only 5' walking distance we love to recommend. The friendly guesthouse personnel gave us valuable tips for daytrips to places worth visiting in Algarve. The ideal trip for everyone who loves to bike and/or walk in nature and along the coastline, or just sit down and read a book, enjoy nature. As a stop during road trip or for longer stay."

"Our one night stay was excellent. We booked two rooms, one for my wife and I and the other for my son and his wife. The rooms were well fitted out and were very clean. The bathroom was perfect with a grab handle on the bath and a very easy to use shower attachment - my wife and I are both elderly and appreciate these things! From booking in - to booking out, the staff were friendly and helpful. We often visit Armacao de Pera and will definately choose Lindmar again and stay longer!"
