Casa di Cornaro ★★★
"The hotel is very close to the pier. The store service is very good, and I notified in advance how to take the key into the room. So although it was very late to the hotel, everything went smoothly into the room. The room is modernly decorated, very clean and comfortable, that is, the bed has a platform to climb up and down. Stayed for one night and was quite satisfied."
Ella Rocrita ★★★★
"We stayed at Ella Rocrita from 23rd–30th July 2026 as a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 4) in a Junior Sea View Suite on an all-inclusive basis. Overall, we had a fantastic, relaxing holiday and would happily recommend the resort to families. The Highlights The standout feature for us was the food. We’ve stayed at a lot of all-inclusive resorts over the years, and this was probably the best buffet we’ve experienced. The quality, freshness and variety were consistently excellent throughout the week. Another huge positive was the availability of sunbeds. There was no need for the usual early morning race to reserve loungers, and with several pools spread around the resort it never felt overcrowded. The all-inclusive drinks were also a pleasant surprise, with a good selection of premium branded spirits rather than the usual local alternatives. Our children absolutely loved the pools. There was plenty of variety with different depths, which allowed them to build their confidence in the water throughout the week. The main beach pool had a particularly nice atmosphere, with a DJ playing chilled Ibiza-style music during the day, giving it a relaxed holiday vibe without being overwhelming. Our Junior Sea View Suite was comfortable and well maintained. Any minor issues we had were dealt with quickly, and the coffee pods were replenished daily, which was a nice touch. The kids’ club also deserves a mention. Sessions were available morning, afternoon or all day. We chose to send our girls for a few afternoons, and they genuinely wanted to go back each day—which says everything. A Few Downsides The resort is quite large, so be prepared for plenty of walking. It’s mostly downhill towards the beach and uphill back to reception, which may be worth bearing in mind if you have young children or mobility issues. The bar and pool staff work incredibly hard and always remained friendly, but they could really do with a few more team members during busy periods. The lifeguards were perhaps a little overzealous at times. We completely understand banning large inflatables and lilo-style floats, but preventing our 6 and 4-year-old from using simple flotation rings seemed a little unnecessary. If you’d like to eat in the à la carte restaurants, book them as soon as you arrive. Availability is limited and they fill up quickly. Finally, we experienced several overnight power cuts during our stay. Obviously this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but when the power returned all the lights in the room came back on, which wasn’t ideal with two young children asleep. Overall Despite a few minor niggles, we had a wonderful family holiday. The excellent food, quality facilities, relaxed atmosphere and child-friendly pools made for a genuinely enjoyable and restful week. We’d certainly consider returning."
Ella Rocrita ★★★★
"Absolute joke of a hotel. We booked to stay for 29th July 2025. As of February 25, we started to see worrying signs of people who had booked for May, having their trips cancelled as the hotel wasn't going to be ready. I contacted the hotel reservations to be told the hotel will be fully open by the start of July. I again contacted them in April to be told yes, everything will still be ready for July. Today, 21 May 2025, I have received an email from my booking company saying the hotel is closed until 2026 and they are offering me a different hotel which looks nowhere near as good. Absolutely disgraceful, leaving it so late that we will struggle to find a new hotel to accommodate all our family at such short notice."
Castri Village Hotel ★★★
"Overall the facilities were okay, rooms were nice enough however there were multiple logistical issues that made the experience poor. On the first night we arrived late and we were told keys were laid out for us. We took those keys as we were told and made our way to our rooms. Unfortunately in the middle of the night numerous members of our group had woken up to find strangers in there room claiming it was there’s. There was no communication as to the mix up after realising the issue was the travel agents booking from the day before which was not our intended arrival date. Despite this, there was no communication that we were a no show and so we were told the keys left out were ours. This left us terrified and feeling unsafe in our own rooms due to the accessibility of two keys. This was a terrible security issue as two keys were left out leading to this mix up. Furthermore, two members of the group suddenly had faeces coming out of the bathroom drain in the middle leading to clothes and equipment being covered. Room change happened however, the conditions were still unfavourable as there was a foul aroma however, after having strangers in your room and excrement coming out of the pipes, it makes the experience generally unappealing. After this experience it would have been appreciated if we were compensated accordingly, unfortunately this was not the case and we were still asked for a €5 tax for each night."
Lithos Traditional Guest Houses ★★★★★
"Staying at Lithos Traditional Houses was an unforgettable experience that perfectly blended comfort, authenticity, and Cretan charm. The property is beautifully designed, with traditional stone architecture and warm rustic details that make you feel immersed in the island’s history and culture. At the same time, all the modern amenities are there to ensure total relaxation and convenience. The houses are spotlessly clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated, offering both privacy and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Waking up to the sight of the mountains and the tranquility of the village was truly special. What really sets Lithos apart, though, is the hospitality. The hosts are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely eager to make your stay memorable. From offering local tips and recommendations to small touches that made us feel at home, their care and kindness elevated the whole experience. The location is also excellent—peaceful and authentic, yet within easy reach of beaches, hiking trails, and traditional tavernas. It’s the perfect base whether you want to explore the island or simply unwind and enjoy the serene atmosphere. In short, Lithos Traditional Houses captures the very best of Crete: tradition, beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return."
Terra Minoika Boutique Resort ★★★★
"Terra Minoika is a jewel. We do not believe any other boutique resort on Crete could be so special for the view, kindness, proximity to lovely beaches, Minoan ruins, historic monastery and the incredible details found in the artistry and art objects that envelope the resort. We wish we had planned to stay at Terra Minoika for our entire Cretan holiday as the slow pace and natural beauty, simple tavernas with lovely food (and again, the kindness and welcome of the owners) is our idea of perfection."
GM Luxury Suites & Spa ★★★★
Hiona Holiday Hotel ★★★
"Lovely and wounderful hotel in calm and pitoresque Palekastro. Close to both the town and the beach, very easy to get around in the area. Really appreciated the pool, breakfast and the room. We could ask Ana and the straff about anything and they helped warmly. The hotel and rooms are very clean and cosy. Will definitly stay here again next time."
Sitia Beach City Resort & Spa ★★★★★
"hotel + great location + staff seems nice + they do have a gym BUT coz its so small u need to make a reservation first and the gym equipment is only for very beginner, no heavy weights - too small for that many ppl we had a trouble finding just 2 sunbeds for our self, the main pool and beach was all full - only one bar open at the time by the pool area If you r at the beach u will either have to cross the bussy road or walk thru the beach so you are most likely to spill something on yourself - they say that if you leave your stuff on sunbeds for more than 30 mins without you being around, everything will be removed and the towels will be taken so they can charge you 30€ - the crew was always announcing thing in a french and then in english, when does it says that this is french favour hotel? room + air conditioner + 2 free bottles of water + u can open the door just with your hotel bracelet so u don't have to carry any card or key around - have to pay 15€ for safe to work - stains on bedsheets - so small than u will have a hard time to open bigger luggage on the floor - they change towels only once after 4 days beach + sea is great for swimming + mostly clean - on the pictures they are selling you wide beach with sand but in reality it's very small beach with many many rocks food + plenty of frensh fruit - variety of meat and desserts is lacking - plant taste so u get bored very easily We skipped 3 dinners coz there was just nothing appealing and went to restaurants close by drinks + the cocktails you pay for are great But there is much better place close by that charges 8-9€, in the hotel they change you from 8-12€ - juice is disgusting and too sweet - if I want water for free u either have to take their 0,3 cup with you or u need to have your own bottle they can fill up"
