Hotel Orient Palace ★★★★
"I had a wonderful stay at Orient Palace Hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sousse. From the moment I arrived, the welcome was incredibly warm and professional. The staff made me feel comfortable right away, always smiling and ready to help with anything I needed. The food was another highlight of my stay. There was a great variety every day, with both local Tunisian dishes and international options. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and very tasty. A special mention goes to the animation team — they were full of energy, friendly, and made the atmosphere really fun without being overwhelming. The hotel itself is well located, with easy access to the beach, and the overall ambiance is relaxing and pleasant. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back!"

Tui Blue Scheherazade Adults Only ★★★★
"We have just returned from 8 nights at this fabulous adults only AI hotel and only wish we had booked more time here! :-) As first timers to Tunisia any potential apprehension we (my wife!) had was unjustified. As many reviews before this one have stated, the standards at the Scheherazade are very high indeed, with the staff, food quality and beach location the highlights. The Head Chef (sorry, didn't catch his name) and his team of 74 (yes 74!) continually offer outstanding sustenance. We have stayed in many luxurious hotels around the world and the attention to detail and food quality is first class. There are many stations offering freshly cooked items by his team of sous chefs, desserts that look & taste delicious and ice-cream that actually tastes of it's flavour! We didn't have ONE poor restaurant experience, irrespective of breakfast, lunch or dinner for which we thank you ALL. All hotel staff here express a genuine desire to serve; the housekeeping team, the gardeners, the front desk team and the waiters / bar staff work tirelessly to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We didn't come across one grumps or abrupt member. Whilst it does of course take a huge team effort, there are a few 'shout outs' to restaurant team members who have an ability to make things special - Medhi, Mohammed (Monsieur Golli) , Shakir, Amine and my daily language lesson with Ravin (sorry if name misspelt) "Ayycheck". All supervised under the ever watchful eye of Maitre D, Wass-Nei (again, apologies if name misspelt) who welcomed us daily like we were family. We loved our post dinner beverage in the lobby bar with the ever so attentive & gentle Anis. How on earth he remembers everyone's drink is exceptional. (we hope your ear-ache / throat pain has eased now). The bar staff who look after the beach also have a photographic memory and will keep you suitably topped up whilst on your sun-lounger, of which there are plenty. There's no need to do the towel reservation at daft o'clock, although most of the pools ones had gone by the time we were up! If you're still reading this (!) then a couple of general observations to assist possible new comers / those looking to book (just do it!). Unusually, there is no in room mini-bar. There is a small fridge containing only water, however, for this standard of hotel, one typically finds a few soft drinks (like Coke / Fanta / Sprite etc), perhaps a couple beers, right up to a range of spirit optics. Sadly nothing here. Not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination, and we are not big drinkers at all, but it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy a tipple on our terrace in our robes before dinner! Basic tea & coffee / kettle etc. If you prefer fresh milk, then simply ask at the bar and they'll provide you with some. No flannels provided in the bathroom; bring your own if you use. Towelling robes and slippers are however provided which is a nice touch. Comfy bed, possibly a little on the harder side for s"

Hotel Royal Jinene Sousse ★★★★
"Firstly for the money we paid it was ok for a week. Lovely helpful staff throughout. Indoor heated swimming pool was good . Our room was spacious overlooking the pool and also part sea view from balcony. so pretty quiet. However we heard that guests in rooms overlooking the beach were woken early by cockerels. On arrival noticed cigarette smoke in lounge/bar/reception area. There are tables marked no smoking in lobby but you are still hit by smoke and have to go into the smoking bar to get drinks. The food was presented well but temperature of food was a concern, food barely warm but a microwave was available to heat our food. Breakfast there were omelettes/pancakes or fried eggs cooked to order which was good. The meals at lunch were very repetitive. Fizzy drinks at bar were flat but fizzy in dining room were bubbly. Our week coincided with Ramadan so restricted opening times of places outside but two shops up on the left were open and are a treasure trove. To sum up we had a good week, met friendly people and had a nice break for the money. The hotel has two parts, the other was having complete renovation which I believe was why areas in the grounds were a bit unkempt. However on our last date rubbish was being cleared and gardens were being tended to. Hopefully the Management will spend some time renovating this part once the renovation is complete end of April on the other part. Some tlc is all that's needed. We were advised by the lovely Guest relations lady that all feedback is being taken to Management who are wanting to improve so looking positive. If you want a cheap break (just over £220 one week AI) and don't expect 4* you can't go wrong. It is a third world country."

"Booked a sea view room, but found out it wasn't when I got to the room. The front desk said they didn't have sea view rooms. I called them upstairs, pointed to the end of the corridor and said that the sea was over there and that the room at the end of the corridor was a sea view room. They then said that there was someone in that room. Why are you still selling it when it’s full? The hygiene of breakfast is worrying. The hotel is too old and the hygiene is not good. There are bugs in the coffee. Whoever comes will regret it"

"Had 10 days here with family, had a nice time, lovely clean bungalow. Was worried about poor reviews but was better than we thought, meal times were not great really, food was nice if you could get any, big queues for breakfast pastries, omelettes or pancakes then there's no limit to piling up your plate, making everyone wait even longer, the problem I thought is that there is not enough staff anywhere, bar staff were all lovely, especially Jazzir, but he was fired for being too friendly with us, which is a massive shame. Nico and Pikacho were really funny, made our holiday fun, but Pikacho left for another hotel too, another shame. We were only a few of the only British people here, maybe it's a cultural thing but found the Arab ladies very rude and looked down there noses at you a lot. But overall it's a lovely hotel, cant see why people are saying it's dirty? We found it lovely, pools are lovely and clean, apart from only having 1 step ladder to get out of the biggest pool I've ever seen. At the end of the day, if you want chicken nuggets and chips then stay at home. We all had a great time, Sheffey in the hotel pool shop was also really kind and lovely. Don't always listen to people moaning about silly things. The pool, the heat, the sea, the staff. Made our holiday amazing"

"The worst holiday I’ve ever had. It was like staying next to a landfill site. Rubbish everywhere and cats and dogs all over the place. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful but that is probably the only thing that was nice about this place. Rooms were very dated and run down but were tidied every day. Food was absolutely disgusting and I didn’t eat anything for a week. Was looking for flights home after z3 days. Was very ill when I got back home from there. Never again!!! Felt very unsafe outside of the hotel at night too. Lots of dodgy people hanging around"
