Hotel Postgalerie Speyer ★★★★
"Not particularly clean, there were crumbs (from bread or cake) next to the coffee cups in the room, grease stains, the bathroom was superficially OK, but everything was covered in limescale. Minibar empty, was not refilled even though reception was told! TV not usable, was only told at check-in, not when making the reservation. No bill received, no useful information, even the parking fee of €32 was not refunded. The receptionist was completely overwhelmed at check-in and out, he had great difficulty making himself understood. Price/performance ratio unbalanced. Our holiday was great, but not the hotel!"
Hotel Domhof ★★★★
"We liked the hotel. I had read a review about the bells of the cathedral being noisy but we didn't hear them. The rooms are around a large courtyard and we were away from the bells. Our room was nice and had A/C. there was also a lift so we didn't have to carry bags up any stairs. The room had a decent shower that you could walk into (not over a bath). Parking was free, if you could find a space in their car park. They also had a small underground car park for €12.50 a day. Breakfast was a mixture of hot and cold. They had a fresh orange juice machine as well as a coffee machine. They own the restaurant next door so if you have dinner there you can just put it on your bill. It's not the cheapest hotel in town but has a good location. There is a 24 hour reception and a courtyard where you can order drinks. I would happily stay there again."
Hotel Löwengarten ★★★★
"For better or worse, it feels like a city hotel. The breakfast was nothing special compared to other hotels. The view from the room was pretty good. I booked a queen bed, but it was a separate bed made up of two single beds joined together, so if I slept alone, I would either end up squeezing in the gap or only using one side. The downside is that there aren't many parking spaces. The designated parking lot fills up quickly, so I have to park on the street in a nearby parking lot."
GuestHouse Speyer ★★★
"A very practical base in Speyer, especially if you’re arriving by car. There’s ample parking, which already takes the pressure off, and the location works well: close enough to the centre for an easy stroll, yet equally convenient for the train station and main road connections. The guesthouse itself is simply furnished and feels more like a well-organised B&B than a classic hotel. Nothing flashy, but equally nothing to complain about. My room was straightforward and functional, with a hob and fridge – genuinely useful if you’re staying a little longer and fancy heating up some soup or preparing something simple. Having an organic supermarket next door is a small but welcome bonus. Reception was closed when I arrived and again later in the afternoon, but access via the safe and key system worked smoothly and without any drama. Breakfast was perfectly fine; a small warm option would have been nice, though there weren’t many guests and the setup clearly follows the B&B approach. All in all: no frills, but clean, practical and well located. I’d happily stay again for a short, uncomplicated trip."
ibis Styles Speyer ★★★
"The hotel chosen for business trips is very good! The breakfast is rich, the price is affordable, and the location is not difficult to find, although you need to drive out. Go to the nearby old town for about 15 minutes."
Hotel Residenz am Königsplatz ★★★★
Hotel Trutzpfaff ★★
"Excellent hosts. They kept checking when we would be arriving and when they found it would be late (we were delayed), they gave us detailed instructions as to how to access the onsite carpark, how to enter the building, get our key. Also enquired if we needed anything else. Room was clean and felt newish. But size wise it's on the smaller side but enough for 2 persons on a short stay or if you don't need a desk/sofa etc."
Hotel & Living am Wartturm - Hotel & Apartments ★★★
"I stayed for 45 days in 2 of their accommodations (not located in the Hotel) and it was truly an excellent experience. The place has a perfect location and the team was always very welcoming and helpful. And they accept pets! I highly recommend it!"
Hotel Speyer am Technik Museum ★★★
"The location is good. However, the room I was given smelled extremely of cigarettes. I asked for another room. That one didn't smell, however there were big silverfish in that room. When I left my used and dirty towel on the floor to get a new one (as the instructions in the room say), the same towel was folded and offered as "new". I got back late that night and only realised after already having taken a shower, so I ended up not being able to use a towel. The breakfast, on the other hand, was quite good."
