Posted on Nov 8, 2023|Double Room, 1 Queen Bed, Lake View
Guest UserThe hotel is a typical old-fashioned hotel with antique decoration and a small elevator. The view of Lake Lucerne is just outside the room window. The breakfast is good. Parking is not very convenient. You cannot park at the door of the hotel. There is a social parking lot opposite that charges a fee (temporary parking is free). There are two hotel-specific parking spaces, but they are often not available. However, there is a public parking lot 300 meters away from the hotel. After checking in, the front desk will inform you of the parking lot location and enter the license plate information, and you can park for free.

Manny365No kettle and the room was quite small, but the location is super central. It's really close to Lucerne's main attractions, so if location is a priority for you, this place is a good choice. Switzerland is notoriously expensive, and this area felt a bit rural for the price. I'd estimate a hotel of this caliber would probably cost around 200 RMB in China. There's no free parking, so you'll have to find a paid parking lot nearby.

Check out these photos of the hotel and the surrounding streets in the early morning, featuring typical European retro architecture with aged red bricks and green tiles. The best part is its proximity to the train station! Just a few steps from the train, you can drop off your luggage and completely free up your hands, avoiding the torture of dragging suitcases over the old town's cobblestone streets. The front desk service was also impeccable, both warm and professional.
However, even with such a perfect location and amazing service, there's one fatal flaw – no air conditioning! Who would have thought that Switzerland in late May would defy expectations and be as hot as an oven? Accustomed to powerful air conditioning in Asia, returning to the room at night felt like a complimentary 'Swiss eco-sauna' experience. Location gets full marks, service gets full marks, but for the temperature, we had to rely on our strong willpower for some 'physical cooling'.

Hotel was in a great location, room was clean and very nice, bed was comfortable, and view was nice. Our bathroom was across the hall from our bedroom-- which though a little strange --didn't cause us any issues as it was private and clean (and huge). The only critique I have would be about the self check-in. I understand the goals of having a streamlined check-in process, but we didn't recieve the email with instructions, and had no answer to an email of inquiry. It took me phoning the hotel's administration to get an answer, in which the woman was very helpful, but did take away some of our time in Lucerne. If there was a more straightforward process that did not involve using the machine at the front door, as well as having clearer instructions on checking out, the stay would have been perfect.

This is the first time I have written an evaluation. I have been back for 2 weeks. I still mentioned the pen for the purpose of hoping to give people suggestions and reference. The hotel is very good overall. Although the location is ten minutes walk from the train station, Lu itself is not big, so it is also fine. The hotel gave us a suite, two bedrooms, suitable for a family of three. The room was very elegant, especially clean. Although the weather was a bit hot, it seemed that it was okay to blow the fan at night. The scenery outside in the morning is very beautiful, very close to the ancient city wall, you can climb high and look far, very good. Breakfast is also delicious, it is a recommended hotel.
