This hotel was perfect for my trip.
[Room]
- Spacious
- The sink was large. I was able to spread out all my amenities. The large mirror and magnifying mirror made applying makeup easy.
- Excellent shower pressure.
- The toilet flushed smoothly.
- The bathroom had a large luggage storage area with over 10 hangers. I brought folding hangers but didn't use them. I was able to easily fit three inflatable swim rings and a suitcase.
- There were plenty of chests of drawers, so I was able to store all my clothes.
- There was a large mirror behind the sofa, making it easy to get ready.
- There were also multiple outlets on the side beds, so charging my phone was easy.
- Two adults and a small child could sleep comfortably on the king bed. There was also a sofa bed, but we didn't use it.
- The housekeeper always cleaned the room well, and there was no sand from the beach.
- Plenty of towels and tissues.
- The coffee machine, paper cups, and drinking glasses were always kept replenished.
[Pool/Beach]
- You can go directly to the beach from the pool. There were plenty of beach chairs reserved for the hotel, so it was easy to find a spot. You could leave your towel and luggage there, play in the pool, then play on the beach and then return to the pool empty-handed.
Duke's staff are always wandering around the poolside checking for orders, so you can order from the menu on the spot. You can even drink alcohol while swimming in the pool.
Floor rings are allowed in the pool.
Beach bags are provided in the rooms, so you can use them. They're large and sturdy, and I often saw people carrying them around town. I didn't need to bring my own. Water bottles are also provided.
There's a water dispenser by the pool.
[Overall Hotel]
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. I arrived at 12:30, but they allowed me to check in early without asking. My luggage was delivered to my room promptly, and after I told them where the safe was, they left the room saying, ”Enjoy!”, so I almost missed a tip.
While there aren't many Japanese people and none of the staff speaks Japanese perfectly, I was able to get by with just a few words.
Security is tight, as you can't get on the elevators without a hotel card.
Conveniently, there's a Hula Grill and Duke's just down the street from the lobby. For a late breakfast around 9:00, Hula Grill was open, and I was able to get a great beachfront seat without a reservation.
I got a cheap city view room on the first floor, but I was more than satisfied with the ocean view from the lanai.
The location is great, with the International Market Place right across the street. There are also plenty of shops downstairs. I forgot to buy souvenirs the day before my final day, so I popped into Honolulu Cookies, which is open until 10:00 PM, in my pajamas.
It's right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, so both the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki Beach Walk are within walking distance.
I was very satisfied, but as other reviews have said, it can be noisy at night. Street music can be heard until late every night. However, I enjoyed it because I thought, ”Everyone's so cheerful. It feels like I'm overseas.” There were days when I could hear something that sounded like opera, and it felt like I got a good deal.
It's strange that there are so few Japanese people there, considering the location and service are so good. There are almost no Japanese people there, so it feels like I'm abroad.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around. The front desk staff were very helpful, and check-in was quick. There are free activities available every day, and some paid excursions like island hopping. My only complaint is that it was a bit noisy at night.

The hotel is nice for the price of low $223 but they charge $45 per day of activity fees but I never used. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the central Waikiki area but is OK. The breakfast buffet is good and includes in the room package. The only problem is that they only have valet parking for $60 per day. It took them 45 minutes in the morning to get my car down on day 1 and we missed the tour. The other days were 10 to 15 minutes. I guess they don’t have enough parking so they have to double park and triple park. I tried to park at the adjacent Banyan lot but all full after 8pm. There are no other viable option other than valet parking in the hotel.

The room was very clean, and the pool was great for swimming and sunbathing. Stepping out of the hotel, you're right on Waikiki Beach's commercial street, making it convenient for dining and shopping. We stayed on the 9th floor, looking down at a rooftop. The downside was that the music from what seemed to be other hotels' bars nearby was quite loud late at night, which could affect light sleepers. The hotel breakfast was typical American, but offered average value for money. The hotel's parking lot uses a mezzanine style, so remember your spot when coming and going.

WowoxiaoshouThis hotel is quite good. It's a 20-minute drive from the airport, and the surrounding area has plenty of amenities. Waikiki Beach is about a 15-minute walk away, and you can go to the Hawaii Shopping Center in the other direction. The room facilities aren't complete, but overall it's clean and tidy, making for a comfortable stay. The balcony is especially large, offering beautiful beach views, and it's very relaxing to sit out there.

Guest UserThis hotel is located at the back of the Luxury row. It is convenient for the beach and also shops and bars. The room was large, the bed was comfortable. The balcony is quite small. Overall it is clean. There is a gym onsite but the pool is tiny. The front desk service is efficient and friendly. They provide complementary coffee and tea in the morning. They also provide complementary beach towels.

F415HSNI recently stayed at this hotel in the Penthouse and, overall, had a pleasant stay. However, there were several areas where the guest experience could be improved.
Pros:
* The location is convenient, with Waikiki Beach approximately a 15-minute walk away.
* There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, although I would recommend making reservations in advance as many are very popular.
* There are numerous ABC Stores nearby, making it easy to pick up snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and other essentials.
* A special mention goes to Ralph, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions or recommendations. He quickly became our go-to person whenever we needed assistance and is a real credit to the hotel.
Cons:
* Upon arrival, we were not offered the welcome drink that other guests appeared to receive. We checked in shortly after 3:00 pm, yet we saw guests arriving at around 9:30 pm the previous evening being offered welcome drinks. It was disappointing that this was not provided consistently.
* We were never informed that the hotel offers complimentary beach umbrellas and chairs on a first come, first served basis. We ended up purchasing our own before accidentally overhearing another member of staff explain this benefit during another guest’s check-in.
* Similarly, we only discovered that the hotel offers a complimentary walking tour after overhearing a different staff member mention it to another guest. It would have been helpful if all guests were informed about the activities and amenities available during check-in.
* We booked the Penthouse expecting to fully enjoy the advertised 90-degree views. While the views themselves were excellent, the balcony was much smaller than expected and not really large enough to comfortably sit and enjoy them.
* The bathroom, particularly the bathtub, felt dated and would benefit from refurbishment.
* The room itself is showing its age and could do with a modern refresh.
* The breakfast room is exceptionally small considering the number of guests staying at the hotel. During busy periods it becomes crowded and difficult to find seating.
* One morning, a guest was allowed to bring a dog into the enclosed, air-conditioned breakfast room. To my understanding, this is not permitted under Hawaii law unless the animal is a legitimate service animal, and it made the dining experience uncomfortable.
* The Skyline floor cannot be accessed using the elevator on the far left, which was inconvenient and not clearly explained.
* At check-in, a $200 deposit was authorised along with an additional hold on my credit card. This extra charge was never explained by staff, and I only became aware of it after reviewing my credit card statement. Greater transparency regarding incidental holds would have been appreciated.
Overall, the hotel is in a good location with helpful staff, especially Ralph, and provides a comfortable base for exploring Waikiki. However, there were several inconsistencies in communication and a number of facilities that would benefit from updating. Better communication during check-in about available amenities, clearer explanations of credit card holds, and refurbishment of the rooms would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

BeachbuoynzThe hotel has over the last couple of years been refurbished by new owners. The pool area is now better maintained and has dedicated staff who are present at all times. The pool is large snd nicely situated. The point of difference is the shade provided by numerous umbrellas and some shade trees. There is also bar and food service to your deckchair. The rooms are midsized suitable for two people and have a good sized lanai. Beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows. Bathroom is compact with shower over bath. Room lighting is dimmable and kettle available upon request. A safe is provided. A criticism would be the small fridge, 6 cans, a milk and a couple of yoghurts is about it. This is the best budget end hotel in Waikiki but budget still unfortunately isn't cheap these days. Overall an enjoyable stay with pool crew being the icing on the cake.

Hands down, this hotel is all about location, convenience, and comfort.
If you want to be right in the middle of all the Waikīkī buzz, this is it. You’re just minutes from Waikīkī Beach and within easy walking distance to International Market Place, Royal Hawaiian Center, countless restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores. Everything is so accessible that you can explore easily on foot.
The rooms feel fresh and newly renovated, with a modern island-chic style. Clean, bright, and comfortable — not ultra-luxury, but definitely more than sufficient for a relaxing stay. Perfect if you want the essentials done well without paying for full resort-style extras.
You’re surrounded by food options — poke, shave ice, smoothie spots, breakfast cafés, and nicer dinner restaurants. Convenience stores are just steps away, making it easy to grab essentials without needing transport.
If you value prime location, walkability, renovated rooms, an outdoor pool, a gym, and solid value over ultra-luxe amenities, this hotel is a great choice.

XiatuziThe room was a bit dated, and the bed was quite high, but it had all the amenities. The view was absolutely amazing! Even though we weren't in the very front row, it didn't hinder our view of the ocean or Diamond Head at all. The front desk gave us a room on the second-highest floor. Parking at $35 a day was such a steal. It seems like this hotel is a designated hotel for Japanese tourists? All the signs were in Japanese, and there was even a cute Japanese shower instruction booklet!
