3-Star Hotels in Honolulu

During check-in, the staff mocked my lack of English, laughing and making gestures at other staff members, which I found unpleasant. While all explanations were in English, the departure was in Japanese, so I assumed they understood everything. Upon check-out, I was surprised to see a payment of $1,347.40. After returning home, I called Trip.com and they handled the matter, refunding me $1,030.61. However, they had deducted a $316.79 service charge and other charges that were not included in my travel application. The hotel only sent me a receipt by email, with no apology. The staff member who checked me in and checked me out was the same, so I assumed they knew I didn't speak English before making the payment. It was a shame that my trip was so frustratingly disrupted by the hotel's front desk service.

The reception is on the second floor and there is no elevator up there, so you have to lift your suitcases yourself, but there is an elevator from the second floor onwards. The hotel's concept is to cherish and utilize old things unique to overseas destinations, so you will inevitably hear noises from other rooms (especially toilets and showers). If you don't like the retro feel, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from Ala Moana Center, and it's also possible to walk back from the farthest part of Waikiki. I think this hotel's convenience will be more appreciated by guests who plan to stroll around rather than swim in the ocean. I felt that the amount of the tip made a big difference in the level of care taken. On my last day, I only had one dollar bills and left several before leaving, but it seemed they thought I only had one dollar bills, so they didn't accept them, and the coffee capsules were never refilled. There were a few minor issues, but overall I was pleased with this hotel.

初めてのハワイ旅行で利用 雰囲気がホテルにはないローカルハワイの雰囲気を感じられる所で素敵でした。 ワイキキビーチ周囲の観光名所全部に行きやすく立地面最強です。部屋内のアメニティは2人で利用するには少し少なめですが持ってきてたので問題ないです。 ホテル内のビーチや併設のバーはとても雰囲気があり素敵です。室内も清潔感がありました。1階のフロント近くの部屋でしたが、併設のバーが近くにあることもあり夜外の人の話し声が聞こえるのは気になりました。ビーチチェアーを無料で貸し出しはありがたい。スタッフの人も気さくで丁寧でよかったです。 英語のみですがボディーラングエッジでなんとかなります

Strategically located with popular eateries down the corner, further up and you will hit hyatt and the beach. We had the tunnel view of the beach at the corridor too. The recept is polite and detailed, providing necessities such as toiletries upon request. There's complimentary breakfast too and the spread is decent and awesome - only shortcoming is the hard boiled eggs and strawberry tasting tad sour-ish. There's complimentary necessities to the beach too. The valet is great - polite and efficient. All good.

Except for the location near the airport I wouldn't recommend this hôtel. It's dirty and noisy. And when the breakfast is included in the price of room, you get coupon for the restaurant. The choice of food for breakfast is very small. And it's either coffee (a very very bad one) or water (a very very small bottle). And then you are allowed to eat in the restaurant and you have to take away and eat in your room as there is no other places to eat. This breakfast is a joke :(

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they’re a very deep sleeper. The road noise is impossible to sleep with. I’ll be complaining soon and seeking a part refund. Even with earplugs I couldn’t sleep enough. (There was also no bottled water. Even in countries with drinking tap water, hotel rooms get theirs from tanks so it’s not recommended.)

Every staff member I encountered at the hotel was kind and friendly. I asked them numerous questions over my 7-night stay, and they always answered thoroughly and satisfactorily. However, I'm not sure if I misunderstood, but I was told that room cleaning was daily. Yet, if I didn't specifically request room cleaning at the front desk in the morning, the room wouldn't be cleaned. When I inquired the morning after it wasn't cleaned, the answer was always that it was 'on the list.' Aside from that, everything else was perfect. It was a wonderful environment where I could relax peacefully for my entire 7-night stay.

We were a bit disappointed initially with the cleanliness as there was a stain on the bed sheet upon entering the room. Thankfully, housekeeping changed it within the hour. The place is located in a central location, close to the beachfront at Waikiki, with a partnership with beachfront stores for beach equipment, as well as GoPros, sunscreen, lotion etc. that can be borrowed, included in the resort rate. However, the age of the hotel is really starting to show, it is in need of not just a touch up but an overhaul where possible. To be fair, the price, especially that paid for during this period, was a fair representation especially compared to neighbouring downtown hotels, given you do receive much more space and a kitchenette with microwave in the case of the 1 bedroom suite. However, I would say that I would have enjoyed my stay far more if at least some work was put in to modernise the space. In particular, my bathtub had peeling paint, and the colours of the room need some work.

The hotel is quite old and the room wasn’t ready even at the check-in time, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself wasn’t very clean, but I guess it matches the price. On the bright side, the location is excellent and the security feels reliable. I also loved that you can see beautiful rainbows from the area—such a nice surprise! Overall, it’s not a bad choice if you just need a convenient place to stay.

It was a room with a view of the diamond head and the sea. I was a little worried about the height because I wanted a clear view of the sea, but I was satisfied with the Lanai overlooking the two without any problems. It is old as a whole, the bathtub is old, and it takes time to get hot water.
