Naxos Palace Hotel ★★★★

"Terrible place to stay! I know they had a busy season but being in October we expected way better than this! Staff was unfriendly and the rooms were dirty and had lots of bugs in it! The first room they offered us smelled so bad we asked for another on the spot! Checked under the bed because the rollers on the bed were not blocked so it moved all over the place! Ton of dirt and old socks under there! Did not feel comfortable sleeping and not safe! The food was terrible and i got sick although it may have been a coincidence but felt sick there the whole 3 Days! Asked for coffee in the morning and was told to wait cause machine was not plugged in yet when they were Open! If you walk into the little village it’s great food and that is where we went always! No sidewalks to walk there and streets are very norrow and dangerous! Not safe at night! Would never recommend this Hotel to anyone and it is in the middle of nowhere! Really not a Palace!!"

"Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Naxos. The staff were so friendly and made you feel so welcomed. The complementary breakfast is delicious and so filling. The room was always so clean and very affordable. My husband and I stayed four nights and five days and enjoyed every second of our stay. The place offers a one minute walk to the beach and the pool at the resort also offers a quaint and relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend and would stay again at Naxos Cave Suites. It's also only a ten minute drive into town/the port and a four minute drive to the airport."

"This place is fabulous! We really enjoyed Naxos - the island is lovely and has so much to do - and this was the perfect place to use as a base for any exploring we wanted to do. John checked us in and was a wealth of information about the island - where to go, what to see, what the best beaches are and where to eat - and he helped us get set up with a rental car. We stayed in the Icarus suite, which was very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with just about anything you could want (including a little sandwich maker to make a ham and cheese sandwich - just saying!) and we were able to whip up the perfect breakfast with yogurt, farm fresh eggs, bread, cheese, etc. We did get into the pool - a bit chilly, but had to do it because it was too inviting not too - and it felt great to lay on the lounges and dry off in the sun. Yes, there were people next door, but we could only hear murmurs and didn’t actually see them. At night it was quiet and perfect for sitting outside and looking at the stars. Finally, there were the cats. We had been gone from home a week by the time we got to Naxos, so we were missing our own cats. We were thrilled to have feline visitors. They weren’t intrusive, just like little furry vampires waiting to be invited in. A couple of them sniffed around the suite, but one ended up spending the nights with us and we were happy to have him. If we could have smuggled him home with us, we would have because he was quite a character. We would definitely stay here again."

The breakfast left no wishes open and the location next to the pool was relaxing. There were 4 of us and we all agreed that we would like to return one day. A lovely place to spend a vacation I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone"

Yes, location is not ideal but the hotels arrange taxis which are very reliable. Everything else is very good or excellent for the price in my view. "Beautiful location close to Naxos center but at sufficient distance to be totally quiet. The view from the restaurant and the pool is absolutely stunning. Rooms are beautifully decorated with good quality bedding. They are rather small and although advertised for 3 or even 4 people, I wouldn’t recommend to be more than 2. Staff is *very* friendly and makes you feel home immediately. The biggest surprise was the quality of food, both in breakfast as in the evening restaurant. Only the juiciest and sweetest tomates for your greek salad with the fruitiest olive oil. And the fish fillet we had one day was to die for. Wonderful!"
