"Staff very unhelpful when I asked for a room change due to noise levels at stairway door which was next to room. Door was getting slammed shut from 5:30am onwards and as the room was opposite the supply room for the cleaners I was constantly having to ask them to keep the noise down as I was trying to work from my room. Also the type of room was unsuitable as it was an accessible room and staff were unwilling to change it for me. Maybe some staff training is required to help dealing with guests concerns rather than just shrugging shoulders."

"The first experience of entering the room was my 2 year old toddler reaching under the bed and pulling out 2 loose, dirty socks that had clearly been left by the previous guest(s) and hadn't been caught by the cleaner. The availability of storage within the room is simply not good enough. There was nowhere for us to unload our luggage to so we had to live from our cases, a handful of coat hangers hanging above a sofa bed isn't adequate. Expanding on this, there was nowhere to hang our coats. Plenty suitable locations for coat hooks but none available. It rains in Scotland, people will have wet coats, they need somewhere to be hung to dry. The bathroom, although recently renovated, has been renovated to a standard I could only describe as similar to a caravan. The whole bathroom felt cheap and just simply disappointing. Furthermore there was no place to have or hang a hand towel, even though there was space for one next to the sink, which just felt like it hadn't been thought through during the renovations. The toilet seat was 'cheap and nasty' and felt like it was going to break at any moment. The pressure coming from the shower was lacking (although liveable) and it would sporadically change temperature during normal use. Breakfast was of an acceptable standard, although on Saturday morning we had to prompt staff to refill things as and when required whereas on Sunday the staff seemed to be more proactive. I accept that Travelodge is meant to be budget friendly but I don't feel like we got the level of saving that would be necessary to offset the poor quality of service. Premier Inn in my experience is roughly comparable in cost while being vastly superior in quality. I won't be staying at a Travelodge again in the future unless its completely necessary."

"Prisoner Cell Block ‘W’. Awful. Stained. Uncomfortable. Not sure how students can be expected to stay here let alone private bookings. Most uncomfortable mattress ever - felt every spring. Stained carpet. Room smelled strongly of carpet deodoriser - dread to think what it was masking. Shared shower room with shower button that needs to be pressed every 10 seconds. Awful shared ‘living room’ - see the pic. Looking at others’ images there must be different standards in different flats"

"The room was beautifully designed, and I loved it. Due to inclement weather, we couldn't go out, and the restaurant downstairs was closed. The hotel staff and management were incredibly responsive, constantly bringing us food and asking if we needed any help. I was so touched! They even went out to the Chinese restaurant to get us fried rice and noodles! And they didn't charge us a penny! Thank you again! My daughter is attending college here, and I'd definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance!"
