"The sofa in the room was full of stains, just like the public seating in a small diner. One day, I was out all day and came back at 5 PM to find the room hadn't been cleaned. When you press the 'down' button for the hotel elevator, both 'up' and 'down' lights illuminate simultaneously, so you never know if it's going up or down when it arrives. Guests stood at the front desk for a long time, but the staff didn't even bother to ask if they needed help, just busy with their own things. There was also a long hair left by the previous guest on the sink."

"I was super satisfied with my stay, it should have been a perfect five-star review, but check-out completely changed my mind. I was supposed to check out at noon, but because I had something to do, I couldn't. I called the front desk and they told me I needed to pay to extend my check-out until 6 PM. I asked the staff and they said it was 198 yuan (remember, 198 yuan). Around 5 PM, my friend came to pick me up, and when he went to the front desk to pay, the staff told him it was 300 yuan. How did the fee increase just because a different person was asked? It completely changed my perception of Hampton."
