"This is not our first stay here and we have always found it to be a very nice stop off. Friendly staff, good breakfasts in a spotless eating area. This year the screen for entering my care registration was "not working" and I verbally gave my car registrations details to reception. Today I received a fine for parking illegally, although I had a confirmed booking. Lenny Henry never mentioned this could happen in the ads."

"This review is based on the premium double room. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels recently, and what I have to say about this one is, It is not exactly a high market place, but the staff are really friendly, showed me to my room themselves which was a nice touch, no lift mind, with two flights of stairs, but didnt bother me. I felt safe in the hotel with restricted night time access, with guests free to come and go as they pleased via key fob access, and the desk manned 24/7, which is nice, and you don’t feel like your being watched/monitor as you come and go like you can do in some places. There are usb ports in the bedside lamps which is useful, and a hairdryer in the draw. Hand and shower soap dispensers also. And a small tv, and thats it, so quite minimal, But the most important things, the room was nice and a good size, and the bed was very comfy, better than most I’ve stayed in. Also the bed was solid, didn’t move, squeak or bang around. Which is an underrated quality, especially for a king size bed in a couples room."

"This hotel is ideally situated the reception staff were very helpful and friendly the rooms are quite a good size but omg the cobwebs were horrendous and we had a problem with the ventilation unit we never slept the first night but reception sorted it out after that . You have to request to have your room cleaned . We were there six nights and asked after three days but didn’t get done till the touring day . There is no aircon but every room has a good fan in but we had to clean it it was very dirty think place needs a good clean but having said that we would stay again but take a feather duster . The restaurant next door is part of the premier inn we tried to eat a couple of nights but were told no food it was only 6-45 and the managers attitude wasn’t good for a manager she said they were too busy . There was a lovely young girl called ruby worked there if only the other staff were that nice ."

"This is a very British-style hotel, located just across the road from Taunton train station, but it's not noisy. Although it has a long history, it has been painted and protected extremely well. The breakfast is English-style, the portions are generous, and I personally like the taste. However, it is an old house after all, there is no elevator, and it is very inconvenient to have a lot of luggage. Moreover, faucets and showers are difficult to adjust, and the water temperature may be hot! However, the heating is really good, but it is also hot. The lady serving here is very beautiful and patient."

"Excellent location. Walking distance to Sainsbury’s, McDonalds and Starbucks. Room was clean and bed comfy. Stifling hot though and the desk fan was of minimal benefit given that the window opening is restricted."
