la mella hotel thakhek
"The hotel and rooms are clean. The rooms are spacious and nice. There's a coffee shop and breakfast area downstairs. There aren't many restaurants for dinner near the hotel."

"You can walk to the hotel from the port and easily to go around in town.friendly staffs to help us for our morning breakfast to take our long journey!"
RIVERIA HOTEL
"I stayed here for one night on a 30-day self-driving road trip that included both far northern and southern Laos, to Vat Phou. The vehicle, a four-wheel drive Ford pickup truck was hired from and returned to Luang Prabang. This is a true three-star hotel that operates like a full-service five-star property. At a walk-in rate of 630,000 LAK this falls into the high range of my normal budget. However, the other nearby properties were unappealing or more expensive. If you want to save some cash, move away from the riverside. Otherwise, this is a very good, professionally run hotel. The room and bathroom were both clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The refrigerator, air conditioning, hot water, and wi-fi worked well. The bedding, towels, etc. were good. Breakfast was also included in a full-service restaurant that is also open for lunch and dinner. There is ample parking for folks who self-drive. I would have stayed here on my way back north through Thakhek but I chose another less expensive property that I will also review."
Chandala Hotel
"The hotel surpassed all my expectations! The staff was welcoming and accommodating right from the moment we checked in"
Thakhek Travel Lodge
"What was supposed to be a relaxing stay turned into a nightmare because of the utter incompetence, dishonesty, and aggressive behavior of the staff. The worst moment happened on our last day. My wife simply sat on one of their chairs — a visibly worn-out and unstable chair — which immediately broke under her, without any sudden movement or misuse. Instead of acknowledging the poor condition of their furniture, the staff blamed us and demanded we pay for it. But it didn’t stop there. They charged us over €50 for a cheap chair, and when we calmly refused to pay for something that clearly wasn’t our fault, three staff members physically surrounded us, raised their voices, and acted in a threatening, intimidating manner. It felt like an ambush. We were coerced into paying under pressure, fearing the situation could escalate even further. It was one of the most frightening and humiliating experiences we’ve ever had in a hotel. There was no attempt to listen, no respect, no professionalism — just fear tactics and aggressive behavior. This place is completely mismanaged, and what happened to us is beyond unacceptable — it’s a matter of personal safety and basic human decency. I strongly advise you to stay away from this hotel. There are plenty of places where guests are treated with respect. This is definitely not one of them."
Villa Thakhek
"Super nice staff, we spontaneously gave us a room for the night. Unfortunately, the washing basin was broken. It was partly dissolved out of the wall and hang down and was light. One staff member looked at all, but meant we could use it like that. Then it went well, we were just careful. Otherwise beautiful facilities and good breakfast "
Dongsay Hotel Thakhek
"Old customer, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good"
Mekong Hotel
"It's a large, older hotel, but its exterior is the best in the neighborhood. Breakfast is served made-to-order at a specialty restaurant in the adjacent building. The hallway is large and spacious with a river view, so you could even exercise there. The night market being right next door is a huge plus. Excellent value for money!"
