Clear and simple instructions for entry and hosts were very responsive.  We stayed in a top floor room, several flights of stairs up, which wouldn’t suit everyone but I’d readily stay again on our next visit to Merthyr.  Well done 👍🏻"

"The room and the hallway smelt a bit weird. We also had a constant beeping all night but apart from that it was a lovely place very different vibe to usual hotel and had everything u needed in the kitchen was a nice size especially for the two of us would be great for a family of 4. It was also a little difficult to find as it says next to the tiger inn you wouldn’t see the tiger in unless you were looking up as the sign isn’t in a clear place and no one in the town had heard of it ."

"Centrally located hotel, easily reached by foot within 5 mins from central train & bus stations. Friendly & helpful staff; spacious & clean double room, with a most comfortable bed. Although a phone and hair dryer were noted as being located in my room, I clearly noticed their absence. Luckily, I didn't require either during my stay. Tea/coffee making facilities were most welcome however. Good amount of wardrobe space, and my room was tastefully decorated in shades of green & cream (very relaxing tones, all in all). Fully functioning restaurant & bar on ground floor, and 2 suites on the 1st floor that cater to wedding receptions / conferences - again, highly appealing decor all throughout."

Lots of helpful info pre visit Lovely host James Ideal for exploring beacons etc Merthyr itself is like many post industrial towns ,tired and suffering from lack of investment in the centre . Some beautiful old buildings needing love. Out of town shopping complexes don’t help!"
