"We were looking forward to spending December 31st in this châteaux lodge. We had booked a room on the top floor with a pleasant view of the rooftops. It was not our surprise to pass in front of the elevator and take a period staircase whose steps have not been restored. It would be wise to Please note that these rooms have difficult access. Comfortable room without welcome products apart from soap without bathrobes we asked for some, only one was available!!!!After getting ready for New Year's Eve dinner we go down this famous staircase madame stumbles very badly when we arrive at the reception no first aid kit a small dressing from the kitchen was offered to us which did not cover the wound and without antiseptic... to this day the knee remains crowned. As for dinner, he had the merit of having good timing but the dishes lacked panache for a Michelin star. When we left the next day after a decent breakfast we had given us a terrine of foie gras to keep in the refrigerator because we were traveling. It took the receptionist more than half an hour to find it... a real master is sorely needed or a mistress of the house."

"These are basic, bare, small rooms with the amenities of a bar of soap and liquid shower soap, suitable for a one-night stop. I was concerned about the noise of an extended family gathering in the courtyard outside our room, but the door sealed well, so no problem. The owners were kind enough to lend an electric kettle, but can be quite strict. You absolutely must not show up before 4 p.m., which we didn't discover until after we booked and prepaid. We would have stayed elsewhere if we knew. The neighbourhood is quite suburban and rather dreary for walking to town. If you have a car, I recommend parking halfway, at the cemetery, and then walking along pleasant lanes into the old city."

Hostellerie et la Parenthese Uzes ★★★
"Hostellerie Provençal is ideally situated in the centre of Uzes, right next to the charming old town centre. Parking is easy in Uzes and there are two large, open air parking lots about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. They are Parking des Cordeliers (recommended by the hotel) and Parking de La Gare, which is just round the corner from the first one. The hotel is a lovely building and although we arrived early, the charming gentleman on reception, who I take to be the owner, was happy to let us check in. Our room on the 3rd floor (there is a lift) was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. The en-suite was also very smart and, most importantly, the room had very good air conditioning. Although it was nice to have breakfast served at the table as opposed to the ubiquitous buffet, I would class it as fine without being exceptional. In hotels prior to and after this one, similarly priced breakfasts included fresh fruit salads, a choice of cheeses instead of just one piece, and a selection of cold meats or terrines, that you don’t get here. I think that they can do a little better. This is a lovely hotel in an ideal location run by charming people. It would certainly be our hotel of choice when next visiting Uzes but we would probably forego the breakfast."

"It’s not- NEVER ever a 5 star hotel It’s not that difficult to find unless you arrive out of the hours of their porterage…if you come out of porterage hours may the Lord help you…..you’d never find it….the access street has a no entry sign🙈 Arrival porter was great but had two days off…and that was it‼️‼️ The actual hotel is a good three star very well converted but the suite we had was only average…lacked conversion detail.. No sockets by bed…a shower that’s not fictional….they are trying to be 5 star….but for the price it’s not professional We got back at 3.00 pm room not attended to and again no staff on duty. Porter didn’t turn up on our departure day so we had to man handle a lot of luggage…..and all panic as the porter ( nice chap) is the valet didn’t arrive so no car from the garage 10 minutes away “ running” The receptionists were so pleasant on both days. Their restaurant is down the road …on a rainy night -no way-it was excellent but like this hotel not inexpensive…. It lacks a managers personality…. They just want your money( sorry but true) Relais you need to appraise this hotel …no sign of management ability…the spar was shut and they charge for the tiny plunge pool ….nice outdoors tiny pool but lacked service detail… you had to ask for everything It could be good but with management that know the business…. Would we go back … at that price with the services not a cat in hells chance. PITY …as Uzes is absolutely gorgeous town."
