Service and location are very good

We were very disappointed with this hotel which was booked by our tour company. There was an odor when you walked in. The fabric shades didn't open properly on the one main window. The room was wallpapered in brown sateen fabric. Yuck. Had two very small windows in the main bedroom. Felt like we were in a cave. There were also two steps down to the bathroom level which is a little dangerous at night. The white duvets were stained. Breakfast featured barely cooked bacon and runny scrambled eggs. A few mixed fruit cups were prepared but largely the fruit station was whole apples, oranges, unripe bananas and kiwi. Would have been great to have strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple. Desk clerk was quite rude and non communicative when we tried to get someone to man the bar and serve us some drinks. Turns out the barman was working at their sister property a few blocks away. The location close to Ca d'oro vaporetto was the one positive factor to this hotel.

We booked this hotel for 2 days. I read that this hotel gave people of color the bad rooms. I wanted to cancel but they refused. When we arrived we got the bad room. The room was tiny and had a stink (septic smell), air conditioner wasn’t working, the hallway lights were broken. My husband had to use his phone flash light to use the key to get into the room. Horrible ! The nerve of them to give this room to anyone is mind blowing. Please stay way from room 211. Thanks for ruining our honeymoon nightThe nerve of the receptionist to say it’s the smell of the mold just let the AC blow it out. What AC? I asked to change room and she said it was full, maybe tomorrow well I can’t lady I have a full day tour. I want my refund asap. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel. Venice has many beautiful hotels or else you might get a nightmare room!

Terrible place to stay. The room had a bad odor and poor air circulation. The AC didn’t work, making the stay miserable. There was no complimentary water. At checkout, there were unexplained charges on the bill, and the staff couldn’t clarify what they were for. They also insisted we couldn't use a card to pay and only accepted cash, which was very odd. I would not stay here again..

The hotel, located in Campo S. Sophia on the grand canal was a 15 minute walk to the train station to the North or 15 minute walk South to Saint Mark’s square. There is a water bus stop located just outside the front door of the hotel as well as water access for water taxies. The room was clean and quiet. We had a slight view of the grand canal from our bathroom. The ceiling was at least 16 feet tall and the decor is what was described as Venetian. There is a nice garden with a sitting area and a view of the grand canal out front of the main entrance to the hotel. The hotel is a nice quiet spot just 200 feet down an ally from the main street. The hotel staff were polite. The continental breakfast had a small variety of items and was perfect to fuel up your morning start your say in Venice !

I had no issues with the location, staff, and service. The room however was attic space converted into a room, with numerous issues, like it was hot in the room and the airconditioning was largely useless, some closet doors wouldn’t close, no lift to the your floor forcing you to carry your luggage up a winding staircase. Fortunately for us it was comfortable outside, and we could open the windows. However the bottom line is I won’t be coming back here. :( Of course this is only one room, and one experience, so you have to factor in cost versus all the other factors.
