I was staying at the Holiday Inn for a business trip. Overall, it was a good stay. I had one of the higher up corner rooms which had a fantastic view up the street and to the West so I got to see the sunset (07 room). I was in an accessible room so the bathroom was quite large and had a tub. Double queen with extra chair and ottoman and a tiny narrow desk that barely fit my laptop. There was a microwave, mini-fridge, safe that fit my laptop, and a k-cup coffee maker. I did not like the wardrobe as the space for hanging was very short meaning that my dresses and long clothes got folded up at the bottom, plus it was on the lower level (for accessibility I believe). Breakfast was included and had the standard variety (eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, etc.). I tried once but on other days we had breakfast at work. There is a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood. It didn't bother me since I was up when it started (7 am) and the windows blocked enough of the noise so that it wasn't too bad. I noticed it a bit more in the afternoon when I was trying to work. The area is alright but it is fairly close to Chinatown (5-10 min walk) so I could see the need to be careful late at night if on your own. The staff was very friendly, somewhat to the point of being too friendly for New England me, but overall very nice and helpful. Everything was extremely clean and in working order - although it took me a bit to figure out the lights. Short walk to the National Gallery and Mall. About a 15-20 minute walk to Union Station.

What an absolutely amazing stay in the nations capital. My room was incredibly clean and it was even quiet, considering that there was a rooftop bar with live music. I slept well. And, I’m really grateful that they are in such close proximity to a Walgreens, which is right on the corner. I travel often and often forget a thing or two or just need simple things like bottles of water (I drink half a gallon to a gallon per day). But I want to give a big huge shout out to the staff particularly Jessica, Michael and Chris. I was traveling with someone with dementia. We were in town for the Alzheimer’s Association ball. And, they truly treated my travel companion with kid gloves! The staff were considerate to her needs and patient with her every step of the way. I even accidentally left my jacket in the hotel room trying to take care of my friend and Jessica call me later on that day to let me know that she found it and that she would personally ship it out. This jacket is very personal and special to me and has quite a bit of sentimental value so I’m so incredibly grateful that I didn’t lose it and that it’s on the way back to me. This was a great stay, a great hotel! You feel safe in a big city and the café downstairs has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life!

Wonderful location and precious old-time ambience in this beautiful historic inn. Decor is quirky and artistically planned. No elevator, so be prepared to haul luggage upstairs. Our room on top floor had a lovely Victorian-feel bathroom with loads of natural light through skylight. Unfortunately, reception staff seemed less interested in general hospitality and weary guests' well-being. Our check-in was met with being billed the full amount for four nights' stay, even though our accommodation cost had already been covered by an organisation based in Boston, MA. Not the most welcoming way to start one's stay in DC. The extravagant, unauthorised bank transaction was only reversed after my husband had made several threats of reporting fraud with our bank back in South Africa. After that episode had thankfully been successfully settled, reception staff members were efficient and friendly. Hopefully, owners/managers /stakeholders will realise that this establishment comes at a steep price and that paying guests deserve dignified service, respect, and honesty throughout.

The Generator checked all the boxes and I felt safe sharing my room. The red line is only minutes away and there are multiple buses that can take you wherever you need to be! I stayed at this brand new hotel at the University of Maryland and had a wonderful time. It is conveniently located to visit the university, but it is also very simple to go to DC using the Metro, which I did. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The WiFi is strong enough for video calls and work. The staff was very kind, including the cleaning staff.

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. The shower had good pressure but it did take a while for the water to warm up. The hotel is located in a comfortable neighborhood and an easy walk to the Metro subway. We found several restaurants nearby with various choices of food. Overall we felt that we got a pretty nice room for the price.

Kimpton Glover Park Hotel has it all figured out—close proximity to the best of what downtown DC has to offer yet a refreshingly quiet location in a walkable, residential zone of Glover Park. Perched on a hill in Upper Northwest, the contemporary-meets-down-to-earth venue pays homage to nearby Rock Creek Park with décor details like hues of green, stenciled plants and historical images and maps. Urban intrigue complements quiet comfort in this Kimpton gem that is kid-friendly and health-conscious, too.

Rooms are large and extremely comfortable. Bathroom was small but highly functional. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. The reviews were good but when we decided to try the American breakfast we were disappointed. Toast came out cold. Potatoes had no taste. Eggs were fine. Bacon was probably the best part and that was ok. Coffee was terrible. We didn’t return.

My husband and I arranged for a room block for many of our guests to stay at this hotel for our wedding. Leading up to the wedding and during the wedding weekend, the staff were very communicative and hospitable - helping us keep track of which guests were staying there, the distribution of welcome bags, and coordinating transportation to and from our wedding. Our guests had a great stay at the hotel and really appreciated the reasonable price and proximity to many restaurants and shops in Bethesda.

I made my reservations on line through the Choice Website and check-in was quick and easy. Once in my room I found it to be clean and the bed comfortable and well mad. The bathroom in my room was one of the smallest that I have encountered with this chain. The room overall as I sad was clean but it was beginning to show it's age. It front cover of my HVAC Unit was loose and quiet loud but after a little work I was able to secure it enough to stop the noise. The breakfast area features the usual waffles, eggs, a meat, with fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice and coffee. The breakfast area can get very crowded but for the most part the attendant keep it clean and well stocked. This hotel features a Free shuttle to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station which is a little over a mile away. With free parking at the hotel this shuttle is a very nice feature that we took advantage of several times during our stay. When we arrived back at the Metro Station, we simply called the hotel for pickup and in about 10 minute our shuttle arrived. Over all I was very satisfied with my stay and will stay here again when I am in the D.C./NOVA area.

GGuest UserOn Monday, May 30, Memorial Day, I purchased two day passes to the Ven's Rooftop pool. It was great weather and the DC public pools were, for the most part, closed. Rather than spend 2k+ on a pool membership in the region (cannot afford that), my son and I have set a goal to hit as many hotel rooftop pools that offer daypasses. The Ven was a nice experience. So, I could totally recommend the one-off visit to the pool and to check out the views of DC. Totally fun to see the Dupont circle Metro stop glass roof (being repaired) and a number of other cool buildings. Always a plus-- my son didn't bring any devices, so he read books and lounged by the pool. It's not really a great lap swimming pool there at the Ven. But, I once had someone teach me how to ”Aqua-jog” and no one there made me feel like I was an idiot for doing that. The package supposedly includes the hotel's gym. But that's in the basement of the hotel. It felt like it was a little understaffed at the hotel and I didn't feel comfortable asking for access. Anyway, I was there for the pool. I also was not offered my ”canned cocktail of choice.” I could have demanded it, but the very sweet gentleman tending the pool food bar/drinks was on his third day, and was a little befuddled that I didn't have a room number to charge things to. HOWEVER, I will admit, I tipped the gentleman and he helped us manuever getting two loungers. THAT WAS WORTH IT. He was super helpful. It was crowded and I was not excited about spending the day there sitting on benches. I asked and 20 minutes later he helped us make it work. THANK YOU. So, for a one-off-- totally worth it! Will I pay a monthly membership fee. Maybe not. Unless people somehow hook me up very clearly with that air hockey table...

GGuest UserThe hotel is huge and one of the more affordable one around DC. The aircon in the room is a little noisy but the operation guy came and says that’s the way it is. I asked for kettle to boil water and it came quite quickly though. There’s a usd20 surcharge per room per night but you can offset by meals in the hotel. The front desk also provides bottled water FOC upon request. Overall an ok stay.

小贝亲Close to Washington's main attractions, just north of the Lincoln Memorial, 15 minutes walk, within the Georgetown campus, the rooms are small, the facilities are neat, although the bunks, but It will not be a few days, and it will be there. There is a parking lot nearby to park, and it costs 21 US dollars a day. It is acceptable in a place like Washington. There is no breakfast in the hotel. Two streets are the Watergate Hotel and the office building. There are coffee shops and fast food restaurants in the sinking garden where you can have breakfast. It is also convenient.

AAnonymous UserI came to DC during the short vacation. I mainly wanted to check out the museums in the city, so I mainly searched for a hotel with a better location. The hotel is only a 7-minute walk from the White House. There are pharmacies, coffee shops, bars and restaurants around the hotel. The museums in DC close at 5 or 6 pm. You can eat and stroll around the main street around the hotel in the evening. The street next to the hotel is quite lively. Parking in DC is not very convenient, so I park my car on the street and go shopping, or drive to nearby scenic spots. As long as I leave the city center, it feels like it is easier to park. This time I went to the zoo and didn't buy a parking ticket specifically. It was easier to find a parking space if I drove there in the morning. The hotel lobby has its own restaurant, as well as a multi-functional hall, conference hall, and gym. The hotel should have been renovated. I personally feel that the room is relatively small and the window is also small. Their sink and bathroom toilet are separate, which is a good point. There is an ice machine in the building. I bought a drink and went back to the hotel. It was better to chill it and eat it with a late night snack.

GGuest UserThe staff is amazing. It was raining one night while walking to dinner and the front desk gave me her own personal umbrella to use. Our flight was cancelled and booking an extra night stay was very easy and the staff was so accommodating. The rooms were great too. There is no view, but the layout of the rooms are pretty great and quiet. The ”06” rooms are the best in the hotel and I would request this room on any floor. The location is a block from metro stations. Also walking distance to white house and many restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserHotel stay was nice, easy check in, valet was not orginized safely and had us stopping in the middle of the road to get out and offload luggage. There was not a designated, safe area for valet to handle the vehicles. Elevator smelled like sweaty workers and had poor air circulation, the hall way smelt like ****(not always a bad thing, just not at that time and place), and the most disappointing thing was the horrible service upstairs at the ”resturaunt and bar.” Service was non-existent and they were not busy in the slightest, the music was all ”hard” rap music cursing that was not appropriate at that time considering there were still families present. My wife and I sat there for 30 minutes before I had to ask the bartender to make us a drink and I had to pay the bill at the hostess stand since our waiter never came at any point.

GGuest UserThis was my first stay in a capsule. I admit that I thought one would enter from the side instead of the end, not that this seemed to be a problem. I like the idea of being ensconced in a cocoon but I realise this isn’t for everyone. In dorm room situations I always prefer a lower bunk, the upper bunks can be more awkward. Unsurprisingly, the same applies here. Anyway, I put the pillow down the far end and climbed in head first. You ‘seal’ your capsule by pulling down the blind at the end. I am not claustrophobic in any way but found I had to keep the blind open for ventilation. There did appear to be ways to adjust the temperature but due to a busy travel schedule I didn’t get a chance to ask staff about this. This hotel uses Goki, this app that lets you scan yourself into the building and the rooms instead of typing in a room code. It has other functions as well. It is worth getting the Goki app as the door codes are changed periodically for security reasons but Goki should always scan you in once you’ve set it up. I thought that $5 for the laundry was a little much and I’m not sure how they ascertained who had paid and who hadn’t since you just walked in. Laundry detergent was included in the $5 charge and when I asked where I would find it they said it would be set out but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I had to track down a staff member. I’m glad to have finally checked ‘sleep in a capsule’ off the list.
