This is a nice traditional English pub with restaurant. because they are also a B and B they have a cosy eating area as well as a full restaurant. The service was excellent and the food good. The pub area is nice, and they have bar and also table service for drinks.

Went for Sunday Roast dinner. Dinner arrived all looked very well presented only to be fooled when actually started to eat !! Carrots were cold and so was the entire dinner down to the gravy in the jug . Young girl came to ask us if everything was ok we said it’s cold she replied oh sorry about that and walked off . My partner went to speak to someone at the bar re cold dinner his reply was oh there’s nobody here , then this man appeared and rather abruptly asked us at one point we complained , explained that the young girl was told when she asked if everything was ok . I told him if I’d have wanted cold food I would have ordered a salad . He then offered us free deserts which we declined. This would certainly not compensate for a cold dinner at the cost of £17-50 for one meal and £19.50 For my partners meal very disappointed . I’ve had hit and better chips from the sea front . Complete waste of money Don’t go and waste you money . .

We just called in on the off chance they had a spare table for Sunday lunch. My partner and I had a Sunday lunch each. The cost was £37 for the two plus drinks £45.00. When the meal came and we started to eat it we realised it was cold a young girl then came and asked us how the meal was we said it was cold. She replied oh very sorry to hear that and walked off. I then went to the bar and complained again to a young guy who again said sorry but offered no conclusion to the matter. Then an older guy came to us and asked us what was wrong and we told him the meal was cold. His reply abruptly was when did you realise it was cold? I replied when we started the meal. I ate the lamb and left the rest. He then offered us free desserts which we did not want. We then left very disappointed. Don’t waste your money

Comfortable and welcoming initially, we did expect our room to be serviced or at least rubbish bins emptied, but it was not touched, Evening meal choice was minimal and expensive, wines were all priced the same at £29 per bottle, breakfast was ok I had poached eggs on toast but the bread used was hard and tough to eat, would have preferred ordinary sliced bread, staff when we saw them were lovely especially the lady who booked us in and served us on the first night, this is not meant to be a criticism just little issues that the owner need to be aware off, as we are talking of a pub not a top rate hotel.

Super place , lovely spacious room , spotlessly clean , biscuits & chocolates were very much appreciated. Excellent breakfast ( great cooked Benedict & full English ) . Quiet location . Very friendly staff who are extremely accommodating . Would have no hesitation in recommending.

I've eaten out quite a lot over the last 4 weeks, and I have to say the food and excellent service at the The Wheatsheaf last night surpassed all of the other restaurants and Hotels where I have dined with various friends. The food was simply delicious, well presented and the service was brilliant. My friend and I both chose to have mains and dessert as part of the £10 deal. I had a vege burger which was the best ever! It had real salad with it; someone sliced fresh tomatoes, and grated carrots - they didn't just open a bag of supermarket leaves which I have been served time and again under the guise of salad. Served with a beautiful seeded toasted to perfection bun, and hand-cut chips that would give No1 a run for their money - Ate every single thing on my place - a first! Couldn't even look at dessert - but my friend had a homemade bread & butter pudding that was amazing. If I needed anything; I just looked up and the waiter was there; knew everything on the menu and the wine menu without having to go and check, and seemed to discreetly disappear when not required. This is an example to all restaurants and bars; people will not continue to pay £40 per head and leave dissatisfied; there was nothing cheap about this meal except the price and we left knowing that we will eat there on a regular basis. Thank you and well done to all the staff.

We stayed here for four nights in early December. There are just a few rooms above the pub and ours was Aqua. This was a decent size with a large ensuite. The room was mainly warm but there was a fan heater that did come in useful at times due to the very cold temperatures outside. There were some nice touches, including Border biscuits and bottled water in addition to the usual tea / coffee facilities in the room. The breakfasts were really good, being cooked to order with a long list of options. Cereals, yoghurt, berries, croissants and homemade bread were also provided. We ate our evening meals at the pub on two occasions and enjoyed the food. Mains in December are £10; a really good offer. We were made to feel welcome throughout our stay at the Wheatsheaf and would seriously consider it again as an option away from the coast, albeit only a ten minute drive to Sheringham.
