"I fell in love with Yining because of a guesthouse I visited. I originally planned to stay for two days, but ended up staying for many more. Every day I would stroll around the old town, then come back to the courtyard to chat and drink tea – it was so relaxing! The owner even personally grilled meat for us. "We stayed two nights at the Yilan • Central Asia-Europe-Africa Ring Youth Hostel in Yining and were happy with our stay. The hostel is well located, near the Blue Houses district, in an area slightly removed from the center but still convenient. We had a private room with a bathroom and toilet, bright and with nice windows, and we were pleased with it. The hostel has the feel of a typical youth hostel, with a simple and friendly atmosphere, and a fair amount of foot traffic. There aren't many services, but our contact person was always available when we had simple questions. A good place to stay for a few nights in Yining."

The owner was incredibly welcoming and gave us two plates of fruit upon check-in—they were especially delicious! The hotel provided disposable bath towels and hand towels, which were very convenient. Hot water was available right outside the door, and they even gave us a souvenir upon departure. They drove us to the bus station and helped us call to arrange a shared ride to Zhaosu. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it!"

"The hotel was quite nice, located in Yining city center, and a night's stay cost less than 200 yuan. The hotel had a dryer, so finally I could dry my clothes. When I first entered the hotel, it seemed very clean; finally, I was staying in a normal hotel. Then, only half an hour later, I discovered the air conditioning wasn't working. But it was already past midnight, and I couldn't afford to go through the hassle of changing hotels—too tiring. I felt other rooms might have the same problem; I saw several rooms with their doors open for ventilation. Then, when I left the next day, the elevator was broken. Luckily, the security guard helped me carry my suitcase down, but it was still quite a hassle. Sigh, the owner should really spend some money to properly repair the elevator."
