The Bay Hotel & Suites

The breakfast is very rich, almost full. There is parking lot. The view of the hotel is very good, a typical resort hotel. There will be band performances in the evening. There are more European and American guests in the hotel, and it seems that we have two Asian faces in the two days we stayed. We set the cheapest room type, and I feel that the hardware conditions are pretty good, with a kettle and sea view. The hotel is far from the town and 16 kilometers away from the airport. A car must be rented (a taxi may cost more than a car rental)! This may also be the reason. The hotel includes breakfast and dinner. We set a price of RMB 860 per night. Chinese meals are also provided (charged separately). Away from the town, the hotel is very quiet, the scenery is good, and many stars can be seen at night. If it is a car rental holiday, it is highly recommended!
Klelia Beach Hotel by Zante Plaza

Firstly, most of the staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic esp. the bar/wait staff. Very friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. Unfortunately, we found one of the receptionists to be less so. Felt that she would continuously go back on what she had previously said, and would make little comments on why things had not been done or provided. Was asked if we really needed extra pillows when the room was booked for three people and only had pillows provided for two. Also, when asking for more toilet roll as housekeeping hadn’t provided any, was told toilet roll was expensive and how much would we be willing to pay. Felt like she was trying to be funny when it just came across as rude. The rooms themselves were not as we expected them to be. Were placed in the annex (which was fine) but the rooms were not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. We had two rooms; one with two people and one with three. The rooms are not meant to accommodate three people as they are very small. The third ‘bed’ was a pull out drawer from the double bed which was not suitable for an adult. Even though the room had been clearly booked for three people, there were only pillows, cups and other items for two. The bathrooms in the rooms gave absolutely no privacy as in one room only had frosted glass walls facing into the room, one of which had saloon style doors with a big gap between them. The showers themselves had no doors and were instead more like wet rooms which made the entire bathroom wet and slippery when having a shower. We were informed when we checked in that the hotel had recently been refurbished but saw no evidence of this in the rooms. The mirrors had duct tape on, one shower leaked into the room, there was a screw missing from the balcony among others. Whist staying at the hotel, there was unfortunately a fire in the field next to the hotel only a stones throw away from the pool. Despite many people informing the receptionist (the same one as above) that she should activate the fire alarm to evacuate the building (due to the fire being so close and the presence of smoke) she did not do so and even stated that she didn’t know how to. The alarm was eventually activated by another member of staff. This was a big concern as many of the occupants of the hotel were young families and caused us to have serious doubts regarding the quality of health and safety at the hotel. Thankfully the fire was attended to extremely quickly by the local fire department following a call by a local and no injuries sustained. I do have to say that we were very impressed by Jet2Holidays as three of their representatives came to the hotel and answered any questions people had whilst ensuring everyone was ok during the incident. All in all, we were not impressed by the hotel and would not choose to stay there again. However, the food and drink provided was excellent with a good selection everyday, and the evening entertainment was really good.

There are not many varieties of breakfast, but at least there are fried eggs, boiled eggs, bread, coffee, cereals and juices, which can meet the basic needs of the Chinese people. I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, there was no room left, I could only wait for someone to check out, but the hotel said that I could go to the restaurant for breakfast, but it was more humane. The location of the hotel is in the mountains, so you must consider renting a car when you come to live, otherwise you will feel that it is difficult to move.

It’s a great hotel with a great environment and a beautiful swimming pool. The owner’s two little daughters had a great time playing with my little cotton-padded jacket. They slept in the hotel until they woke up naturally, had breakfast, drank coffee, and leisurely strolled and walked around the hotel. You can see the sea in 5 minutes and have a wide view. We flew back to Athens in the evening, and the child wanted to stay in the hotel to swim and play with new friends, so we negotiated with the hotel to check out in the evening and pay part of the room fee. The day was very relaxing, and the child was very satisfied with this arrangement [laughing R]
Plaza Pallas

This is our 2nd visit to this hotel since our last visit it has had a refurbishment including the pool and it looks fantastic. The room we stayed in was on the second floor with great views over the pool the room was big ,we had twin beds which were very comfortable and same goes for the pillows, it had a settee in and a big stool , fridge, tea and coffee making facilities in the room . They was space to hang your clothes , tv and the bathroom was big with a walk-in shower . The cleaners were in every day and are a credit to this hotel they did a very good job towels were changed every other day and our beds were changed twice while we was there we stayed 9 days . We was half board and all our meals were at the Olive tree Garden restaurant the staff there was fantastic they greeted you on arrival at the restaurant handed you the menu and drinks menu they always asked how we was and very polite and helpful the meals were hot and very good you got a 3 course dinner so thank you to the chefs for great meals and the restaurant staff for table service . The breakfast was at olive garden too as it’s part of the hotel that was also very nice . The bar that is with this hotel is the Sambucca bar with also great service and very welcoming, the cocktails are very nice and strong not that I drunk them every time as I like mythos too the staff are very friendly and made you feel at home great staff and management . The pool area is lovely and it also had 3 four poster Sun beds which are 20euros a day which are worth it they are very comfortable and relaxing and king size if not bigger we used these twice while we was there as towards the end of our holiday as sun beds had towels on early in morning and some were not used until later on in afternoon so some days we walk to the beach or go on walks along Tsilivi to the Jolly Roger pub and the main stage bar . We would definitely recommend the plaza Pallas and we will be going back again as you could not wish for better staff or management they were all excellent and a credit to the hotel and also it is central to all bars and restaurants and shops and only 10 minutes walk from the beach so thank you plaza Pallas we had a great holiday see you next time
Spiros Family Apts

As a young female solo-traveler looking to have a relaxing vacation and enjoy the beauty of Zakynthos, I felt comfortable and at home in Spiros Family Apartments. The beds were comfortable and the air ventilation kept the room dry and cool on humid days. The hosts were lovely, treating me like family. I think a true testament to their hospitality is in how comfortable I felt during one-on-one interactions. My week in Zakynthos was part of a culinary and yoga tour. It was well organized and I got to sample a a wide range of Greek cuisine and learned quite a bit of cooking from Effie (host mother). Her homemade breakfast was delicious. At each meal, the family was very generous, always offering me more food, even when I was stuffed! Andriana (host daughter) led my yoga classes, which were easily some of the best I have ever taken! Highly recommend taking a cooking and/or yoga class while staying here. Antonio (host father) was my lead guide for excursions (to Zakynthos Town, olive oil production press museum, viewpoints, boat trips, etc). He went out of his way to organize the itineraries based on the weather and even added a few extra stops along the way. Each day was the perfect balance of activities and rest. I left Zakynthos feeling like I got a relaxing vacation but also learned a lot about Greek culture and saw some beautiful places around the island. Could not have asked for a better experience.
