KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL
4.5/5195 Reviews
Kyoto Station
The hotel has complete facilities, is clean and tidy, and has good service. The breakfast buffet is rich and delicious. It is a high-quality hotel. However, the location of the hotel is relatively remote. To access, you need to rely on the hotel's shuttle bus that runs every half an hour or take a taxi at your own expense. More inconvenient.
The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji

Kyoto Station
It's quiet and easy to spend because it's one station from Kyoto Station. The location is also near the station, and it's easy to understand that you can reach it in just a few minutes from the station. Parks, aquariums and railway museums are also nearby, so you can play with your children. There is a large communal bath, but personally, the hot water is lukewarm and unsatisfactory. I stayed in a standard twin room, but I was able to spend a relaxing time in a room that was perfectly large even if I spread a large suitcase. There are also 6 coin laundry units, which is appreciated for long-term stays. It seems that a group of school excursion students was staying there, and I was worried that I could hear a slapstick noise at a fairly late time. There is also a convenience store, so it's very convenient, but it was very disturbing because a group of school excursion students was shopping and it was very crowded, and I didn't know how to use the self-checkout and was making a fuss. It was. Isn't it shifting such shopping time or the school side manages it? Apart from that, I was able to spend comfortably without any problems.

Kawaramachi
Strategic location besides Karasuma Oike station and 5mins walk to Karasuma station if you need to take the Hankyu line. Quaint area with nearby 7-11 for your snack runs and Starbucks on the main road. Good security too with hotel card access. Note that there is a main and annex building (2 buildings for different rooms selection).

I’ve booked for two nights in this hotel. Everything is almost perfect in the first night. The location is good, nearby the train station, a 24hr familymart in 2min walkable distance. The non-contact check in requested by the hotel through email is smooth and im okay with this arrangement. The instructions in the email are clear enough and i had successfully found the hotel and got into the room. It did look like perfect but something terrible happened in the second night. I came back to the hotel at 8:49pm and found i could not enter the room because the password was wrong. I entered exactly the same password which did work at the first night. Ive tries so many times slowly and clearly to confirm its not my mistakes if i had enter wrong password. After many times of wrong entering, the electronic lock was locked for trying. I was so desperate and sending email to the hotel asking for help, as my phone had only internet service but no phone call. Of course there was no any reply even till now, which is extremely ridiculous. Then I walked to the familymart trying to ask for help. Luckily there was three locals in the shop and one of them could speak english, they helped me calling to the hotel number instructed in the email , saying that is a 24hr number for emergency need and no one answered :) Then we google the hotel and find another number, then a japanese local answered. After communication with the staff, the three locals go to the hotel with us( they were super super friendly and helpful, thank you very much), trying to unlock the door by following the steps told by the staff in the phone, yet the door was still locked. Then the staff asked we to wait for 10 mins and someone will come. The 3 locals waited with us( AGAIN, THEY WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY, i cant imagine how would it end up that night without their help) Then the staff came and took only 2 seconds unlocking the door, I watched with my eyes that he did not enter the password I was given but another one, he did exactly know what was the right password. What the f was happening? Why the Password was changed? Who did that? Ive paid for two night! After opening the door, the staff just continually saying sorry and not answering my question. EVEN TILL NOW, i dont get any reply from the hotel, explaining what happened that night, it is the most ridiculous and terrible experience i ever had in my life.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Staff fantastic, room modern with all usual Japanese up to date bathroom facilities. Just a 6 min walk from Kyoto central station so access to all other areas in Kyoto either by train, subway or bus very easy. Free extras were the afternoon tea, happy hour drinks and evening supper - rice with sauce and nibbles. A couple of the major Buddhist temples 5 ,10 and 20 mins walk also the Japanese railway museum. Loads of food choices at and around the station. Very clean and affordable.

Gion/Kiyomizu Temple
Don't know why but I fell in love with this hotel. Modern, clean, always with good music and smell, well furnished with wood, concrete, and plants, with a lovely bakery at the entrance, and a fantastic restaurant serving a delicious and abundant breakfast. The room was very well modernly furnished. They offer you many experiences, and even an electric bike to visit Kyoto (that I really enjoyed). The staff was very friendly, even if sometimes it was struggling to talk due to poor English knowledge. It is very close to Higashiyama and Gion, which you can reach by walking 15-20'. The rooftop bar serves excellent cocktails. Additionally, the price is low for the service and the quality offered! FANTASTIC!

Kyoto Station
Hands down the best hotel we stayed in throughout our 10 day trip in Japan. Super attentive and friendly staff, breathtaking architecture, and intuitive tech. And of course the convenient location and unbeatable price goes without saying. Really a must stay if you happen to go to Kyoto. We're already talking about making another trip to Kyoto and will definitely be staying there again!
Ala Hotel Kyoto

Kyoto Station
Nestled in the heart of Kyoto station, Ala Hotel Kyoto offers a serene oasis amidst the bustling cityscape, with easy access to myriad tourist attractions and culinary delights. Situated along a vibrant street adorned with delectable beef restaurants and adjacent to a 24-hour drug store boasting competitive prices on cosmetics and medications, the hotel's location promises both convenience and immersion in local culture. A relatively new establishment, Ala Hotel Kyoto boasts one of the finest outdoor onsens I've encountered on my travels. Perched on the 10th floor, the onsen is accompanied by a tranquil zen lounge, ideal for unwinding post-soak or awaiting laundry completion. Though laundry services are complimentary, guests should note that detergent is not provided. While complimentary snacks were notably absent, the expansive onsen facilities and serene ambiance compensated for the oversight. However, it's worth mentioning that the onsen's operating hours are relatively limited, closing at 11 pm nightly, with only two hair dryers available. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness—ample enough to accommodate three luggage pieces comfortably. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the bathtub affording breathtaking views of the hotel's surroundings, perfect for soaking in the beauty of sunrise or sunset. Complete with access to YouTube and Netflix, the room provided ample entertainment options. For a delightful treat, indulge in soft-serve ice cream from the cafe adjacent to the hotel—an ideal conclusion to a day of exploration. The bed exuded comfort, while the addition of a sofa near the entrance provided a convenient spot to unwind without soiling the bedding with outdoor attire. Overall, while Ala Hotel Kyoto may lack certain amenities, its spacious accommodations, strategic location, and reasonable pricing make it a standout choice for travelers seeking tranquility and convenience in equal measure.

I used double - m for one person, but when I entered the room one step, I thought, ”Is it not so large?” In fact, when I was arranging my luggage in the room and moving color 々, I realized that if I was alone, I would take a room that was quite easy to use. I didn't eat at night for one night, but all other places such as lounge and receptionist have a luxury feeling and luxury feeling, but I feel at home somewhere I felt it was a lodging facility to say ”I travel to live”.
