PLEASE READ - WORST ACCOMMODATION EVER! I WISH I could give this place no stars. Their customer service is appauling! I am shocked with how we were treated and would rather stay anywhere else. My partner and I had booked to stay here for two nights. On the last day we checked out at 10am and asked if we could leave our bags behind the counter to come and collect later. The issue is, you cannot enter the building unless you have a key card, and as we were checked out we didn’t have one. But as this is standard there is always someone there to let you in. We returned when we were ready to leave and no one was there. We rung and rung the doorbell for 30 minutes… We tried to call their phone but… wait for it… they have NO working number. We proceeded to wait longer another half an hour and MISSED OUR FLIGHT. All our luggage, belongings and keys were in there. Once someone came down they said they were upstairs. We had to pay $200 to rebook our missed flights for the next day and asked if we could have a free night. The lady offered to pay but we said no. She gave us the key card and let us have a free night. We were approached later by another man who asked us to pay. we explained what happened and said we either stay here for free or will find somewhere else. We were HAPPY to go anywhere else if they didn’t want a free night. We were not staying there or forcing ourselves there. The man said he will see what he can do. The next day we checked out. The first girl (who’s fault it was to begin with) was there and said nothing. They later proceeded to CHARGE MY CARD!! we approached the manager and turns out the girl LIED!! and said we were just going to pay and that it wasn’t her fault. And the manager basically said we have to pay. she said she can check the security footage to see if our story is right, that we waited, and waited, and rung (We were on the phone with 105 as we were so desperate) and then confirm also the man talking to us. we gave her ALL the times. Yet we have heard nothing. it has been ages since our stay, no contact, no refund. AWFUL Not to mention unfriendly staff, awful quality rooms, awful place in general. Please spend your money somewhere else x

Strategically located in the middle of Auckland CDB. We can easily walked around the main attractions.including Auckland Tower, the wharf, Queen St. Love the room view too which face the tower directly. Cleanliness perspective however was really disappointing.. The room was really dusty, not for the hidden corner like under the sofa/bed/top of cabinet, but obvious area like the sofa, basin, etc.

Holiday Inn Express is one of my favorite hotels during my 2-week stay in New Zealand. It is located in the heart of Auckland’s cbd area and close to everything (shops, restaurants, bars, harbor). It is a 6-minute walk to the Sky Tower where you can pick up the Airport Express bus for $17 nzd. The hotel entrance is on a significant incline. The reception is on the 2nd floor which you can take either an elevator or escalator up. The cafeteria and small lounge are to the right of the reception desk. Breakfast was the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruits, muffins, and other pastries. Due to the high volume of clients the 2 coffee machines were usually low on milk to make certain coffee drinks. I love the room set up. The closet is across of the bathroom and had plenty of room for your luggage. The shower is enclosed in a glass cube with wave designs. A nightlight in the bathroom saved on electricity if you need a little light to move around the room. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked. The reception staff was kind to let me stay an extra hour past the check-out time for the room that I had with my tour. The room that I booked after the tour was ready early and I got to settle in at 11 am before my afternoon tour. Construction is happening around the hotel with the streets being torn up and a new building under construction next to the hotel. The hotel is well insulated that I couldn’t hear any of the construction.

My husband stayed here once by chance and now it has become the place he stays most weeks, Large, clean, quiet rooms, equipped with everything you could need, coffee machine, microwave, big screen tv, the comfiest bed and a huge bathroom with a good shower. But the best thing by far are the staff, from the friendly welcome and attentive service, you couldn’t ask for more, little touches like remembering your names, means a lot…. Have to give a special mention to Pawan, it’s just like a friend greeting you, a genuine friendly welcome back every time, makes you feel like you are home. Thanks Pawan!

The gym is not located on premise and was fairly difficult to find without gps. The equipment was also extremely old and in bad repair. The bacon was undercooked even compared to other NZ hotels, and the sausage made me physically ill. They may have been acceptable to locals but not to US travelers. I would suggest just having two trays of bacon. One for locals and one fully cooked.

In the month of January, myself and my friends stayed at the luxurious Sudima Hotel located in Auckland city. We had a warm welcome by the staff at the reception and each and everyone of them were happy to help in anyway possible. We were shown to our room by a kind hearted staff member on the 6th floor and WOW what an amazing view it had of the harbour bridge along with the city buildings. As for the room, it was very modern and well set up. The bathroom was perfect with ammenities provided. The beds were extra comfortable and the tv had a wide range of movies to select from. Whilst we were enjoying the view from the window, we were surprised with a welcome hamper consisting of vegan friendly snacks, refreshing coconut water along with skincare items such as face masks, shower bombs and sleep balms. This was a very thoughtful surprise and indeed we enjoyed it. We had a free breakfast at the East eats restaurant with a range of food to select from and it was amazing. All the food is vegan friendly and very delicious. The lobby has a lot of seating for anyone to enjoy. The beautiful architecture catches ones eye. Very modernised and unique in its own way. Definitely a place to stay! We would like to say a big Thank you to all the staff that helped us have a wonderful stay at the hotel. We definitely will be back. Had a lovely stay at these apartments made extra special by the very kind, thoughtful and super efficient Christina, who went out of her way to ensure we had an enjoyable holiday. This apartment complex has a very nice reception area with lifts to the many floors. There is also a restaurant/cafeteria which unfortunately wasn't open during our stay. Our apartment was fabulous and huge. We had an executive suite with lounge, dining area, kitchen and bedroom, 2 balconies plus a washer/drier which was most useful. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the cleaning team as they took it upon themselves to throw away our snacks and Covid test kits which were in a carrier bag on the opposite side of the kitchen.Christina was not on duty at this time as I believe it would have been sorted out professionally as the male receptionist (who replaced the test kits but not snacks) believed the cleaners over ourselves, who said that the bag was next to the bin. The location is very good with shops and cafes close by. The area is very much under construction at the moment but we could not hear the builders at all.

Overall, it was pretty good and very cost effective. Helpful staff. • Luggage storage room available. Laundry service avail on site (4 bucks for washing machine, 4 bucks for dryer & 2 bucks for washing powder), Ironing service was free of charge. • Toothbrush & Toothpaste were available upon purchase @ the reception. Hot water, box fan, kettle, small fridge, tea, coffee, sugar, clean towel, soap, shampoo were all avail. The first two nights I stayed, I had to use a shared bathroom, however, it was very clean. After that I extended my stay where I was moved to another room which included a bathroom. Also, perfect location as it is situated on the busiest street in the city centre where you'll find a lot of restaurants & shops nearby even supermarkets. * The down part was that it gets very noisy at night, you could hear the traffic & people on the street screaming. Plus, the mattress wasn't in its best shape.

TLDR: no aircon, constant power cuts, paper thin walls.. Where do I start. First off there’s no aircon so the rooms are hot and uncomfortable. There are ducted low speed fans which don’t do much. But the biggest problem is the fact the rooms are on what I believe to be motion sensors or some kind of timers so ALL power turns off every 25 seconds, this is not an exaggeration. This includes the lights, jug, the fan - everything. I stubbed my toes in the dark because the lights turned off while I was walking around, and they wouldn’t turn back on. Showering in the dark due the lights constantly on and off. Good luck making a coffee, showering, watching TV or anything without that being interrupted by constant power cuts which drive you mad. I booked the small room. They look small in the photos but even smaller in person and I felt like I was suffocating, the rooms are tiny so heat up like crazy. The smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Also the walls are paper thin so I could hear my neighbours conversations word for word.. even with ear plugs. If there was air con and sound proof walls, I could have put up with the extremely small space. Terrible experience. Don’t even bother with this place. The Abstract had a lot of potential as they have decorated it very nicely but they have let themselves down. It is also in a dangerous area of Auckland central so you will want to make sure you are back in your room by dark, lots of drunk homeless people around. After my first night of zero sleep due to the heat, stuffiness and neighbours chatting, I complained and had my room kindly upgraded to a larger one, but the same issues remained of constant power cuts and no air con in that room too. At least it was a bit cooler due to being larger and an extra window, also had no neighbours.. The customer service was pretty good. There is no parking on site so you have to park in a carpark building across the road. The food in the restaurant was average but has a beautiful outdoor dining area which was the highlight.
