"One of the brightest experiences of our journey is 2 days in Arima Onsen.
Our stay in the first minutes has painted our room: big, light and cozy.
The staff remembered especially: not just polite, but caring, I forgot my jacket in the cafe and a man standing at the stop came to give it to me. Thank you very much!
The hotel has its own cafe, where you can buy bakes and drink coffee, with a stunning terrace.
In the room there are all necessary: a recreation area, big windows, we were offered kimono and baskets so we could go in them to the onsen.
It was magnificent!
The hotel has no sources, but they are literally 30 seconds on foot, or the biggest public onsen in 7 minutes on foot (but with the unusual to go to the mountain in tabi sandals is a little uncomfortable but interesting). Hotly recommend, ideally from 2 nights to enjoy the full program and slow down the journey a little bit and think about life :)"

"Loved this nice little place. Excellent location right near the Nada station and bus 92.
My private room was larger than expected, great AC, opposite the showers and toilet. Most important the bed was very comfortable! There is a train passing by now and then. I didn’t bother and slept well. There are free earplugs available. If you can sleep in a train, you won’t have any problem to sleep here.
On the 1F a kitchen, relax and meetup area. Great to meet and talk with the other guests.
Staff was excellent, very welcoming, in English 🙃."

"A truly perfect hotel! I had expected it to be a bit old, but it wasn't at all. There are 8 private onsen (hot springs) available for booking, each with its own unique charm and fantastic views. It was incredibly relaxing! They even provide kimonos for guests to wear and take photos, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch."

Amazing
GGuest UserThis was our first stay, and we were greeted immediately upon arrival and received kind support throughout our stay, making us feel at ease. We enjoyed making marshmallow sandwiches over a campfire, riding on the swings, and watching the adorable sheep roaming freely on the grounds. Just outside the front door, we could see the sheep, and the children enjoyed feeding and petting them, giving them experiences they wouldn't normally have. The air conditioning in the guest rooms was comfortable, allowing us to relax in a warm space, enjoy the view outside, and sip wine. We would definitely like to stay again. Next time, I'd like to try the hot tub.
GGuest UserThe room is large and well-equipped. The gold bath in the room is a little small, but the public bath is OK. It is very comfortable with few people. The hotel's kaiseki cuisine is very unique.

Amazing
SsenputyThe kitchen is well-equipped, and having a washing machine in the room is a huge plus! It even comes with detergent, so you can do laundry anytime. There aren't many hangers though, so it's best to bring your own.
The fridge is a good size, and the freezer actually works! For dishes, there were chopsticks, forks, spoons, and four plates, plus a rice cooker! You could practically live here! Highly recommend.
The picture below is a meal I cooked at this hotel.
GGuest UserChorakuen Ryokan is a truly traditional Japanese inn, with all rooms featuring tatami mat flooring. The ryokan boasts excellent onsen baths, and both the Kinsen (Gold Spring) and Ginsen (Silver Spring) were a delight to soak in. They also provide Chinese-speaking staff, and every employee was incredibly polite, always greeting guests with a bow. The kaiseki dinner we had ordered was absolutely delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience!

Great
GGuest UserA heartwarming and thoughtful mountain hotel experience.
This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around.
The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless.
The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

Great
GG-AVWe had a great 1 night stay at this hotel!
This was a wonderful experience! Although we only spent 1 night here, as this was meant to be an overnight stop between cities in our travel road trip, this left such a good impression on us, that we would like to come back to Akashi just to stay in this hotel again.
The architecture and the hotel design is very cool, 50's kind of vibe, but it's new of course.
The hotel has a club lounge where we could unwind after the drive with complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcohol, and all was free and unlimited.
The room was super spacious and designed nicely, with a huge hot tube jacuzzi, and since we took the ocean view room, the view overlooking the ocean and bridge was just breath-taking 👌
The breakfast was just right, and they totally accommodated my meal requests and accomplished to have a very good result...
5 stars here and I would totally want to come back!
__WeChat27932****The hot spring is really big, and you can enjoy both the upstairs and downstairs pools for free. There's a shuttle bus to Sannomiya Station. The room views are absolutely stunning, perfect for couples. Breakfast was just okay, but overall, it's a great stay.
GGuest UserThe food is absolutely delicious. Breakfast is healthy and varied: miso soup, curry, rice, omelets, potato salad, sausages, boiled potatoes and broccoli, succulent fried tofu and dried tofu, fish for grilling on a mini-grill, red smoked fish, and cherry tomatoes. There are also tasty pastries like croissants and cinnamon rolls – they don't skimp on butter and jams. Plus, yogurts, sweet fruits in syrup, and muesli. For drinks, there's hot/cold coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, and iced water. The hot spring in the hotel is magnificent – both golden and silver springs, a jacuzzi, a cold pool, and cold rice tea after the onsen. They even sell sake in vending machines! You can buy souvenirs right in the hotel, and the prices are reasonable. It's a 4-minute walk from Arima Onsen station and 6 minutes to the bus stop (which goes directly to Kobe). The value for money is perfect, and the staff really go the extra mile. The kimonos are beautiful!

Very Good
GGuest UserThis is an inn, not hotel. Expect to share bathroom and toilet if the other room is booked and owner imposed a curfew between 11pm and 7am, no good for families, lone traveller maybe.
CCamilla TamI booked this place at the last minute as we wanted to extend our stay in Arima Onsen by one night and most hotels were fully-booked. I searched on *********** but couldn't find any suitable accomodation so thought to try Trip.com. This hotel came up only on this site and I was delighted to find it. At first I was concerned by the lack of reviews, but all the reviews were good and the room looked ideal for a family of four; 2 western beds and 2 tatami beds, with spacious living area and separate bathroom and toilet. It was really great value for money. The size of the room was very generous, and the facilities were great. We made use of the Onsen baths and the table tennis room during our stay. None of the staff spoke english but this wasn't an issue as they were all adept at using google translate. The location is also fine - it is situated between the town and the ropeway, so it is easy walking distance to each, which was very useful since they dont offer any shuttle service. All in all I would reccomend it for a short stay in Arima onsen as it is really good value for money.
