Great
RRed VillaruelWe stayed at The Manila Hotel as a couple with one infant and had a very positive experience. The staff were extremely accommodating and attentive, the facilities felt grand and culturally rich rather than modern, and the location is central, great for nearby parks but challenging due to Manila traffic. The highlight was the breakfast, which was outstanding and easily the best complimentary hotel breakfast I’ve had.
GGuest UserOverall cleanliness was good, but some details weren't cleaned thoroughly enough.
1) Hair in the room 2) Floating debris in the kettle 3)
Btw, All the staff were very patient, and the food was quite good.
I'll come again next time, I really like it here.
JJA697896While the breakfast buffet was a notable highlight with its quality and variety, my overall stay was significantly hampered by procedural and service-related friction points.
Parking: A Major Inconvenience
The process for securing complimentary parking is excessively complicated and needs to be streamlined. For a 5-night stay, having to follow these steps every single day was truly exhausting and time-consuming:
Validate the ticket at the Front Desk for complimentary status.
Go to the Parking Cashier for a zero-value receipt.
Surrender this receipt at the parking exit.
This multi-step, daily requirement detracts significantly from the convenience expected of a hotel in this category, and I urge management to simplify it for long-term guests.
Front Desk & Check-In Issues
Service at the Front Desk also presented some challenges:
The check-in process was not smooth and took longer than expected.
I often had to wait for an extended period for the front desk to answer my phone calls, which was frustrating when trying to resolve issues or make simple requests.
Value for Money
The breakfast buffet, while excellent, is priced quite high, making it feel less like a value-add and more like an excessive cost for those paying in addition to their room rate.
Overall: The quality of the breakfast is great, but the cumbersome parking procedure and the inconsistent front desk service created daily friction that significantly impacted the overall comfort and convenience of my extended stay.
IitsreallyjaineStaying at City Garden Suites Manila turned out to be a great choice for exploring the historic side of Manila.
The location is very convenient — just a short distance from Rizal Park, Intramuros, and shopping areas like Robinsons Place Manila. It made moving around the city easy without long travel time.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, perfect for resting after a full day of walking around Manila. What stood out the most was the hospitality of the staff — they were friendly, accommodating, and always ready to help.
If you’re looking for a hotel that balances comfort, location, and affordability, this is definitely a good option when staying in Manila.
GGuest UserStayed at Rizal Park Hotel and it honestly felt like stepping into another era—very Somewhere in Time kind of vibe. The building itself has a lot of character, which makes sense since it used to be the old Army Navy Club (built in 1911), and you can feel that old-world charm throughout the property.
Location is a major advantage—right beside Rizal Park, near the US Embassy, and overlooking Manila Bay. Great for staycations, especially if you want that sunset view. Convenience stores are about a 5-minute walk away, and food delivery is easily accessible.
We booked a junior suite and it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was notably fresh-smelling, which stood out. Bed was comfortable, aircon was cold, and Wi-Fi was fast. The pool area was a highlight—relaxing with a great view of the bay, especially at sunset. The hotel also has a gym and sauna; we were able to use the sauna, which was a nice addition to the overall experience.
Most of the staff were friendly, often greeting us with smiles and good mornings/evenings, which made the stay more pleasant. Special mention to Ma'am Jenna from the amenities building—very friendly and accommodating. There were a few instances where some staff didn't greet, but overall service was still warm and welcoming.
That said, the building does show its age in some areas. There were occasional noises at night (likely ongoing maintenance or renovations), and some facilities feel dated—TV could definitely be upgraded to a smart TV. We also noticed some ceilings and walls with visible cracks and signs of mold, which could use better upkeep. Breakfast buffet was okay—decent, but not a standout.
Overall, still good bang for buck. Best suited for staycations or travelers who appreciate historic hotels with character rather than modern luxury. Would definitely come back.
GGuest UserStayed here 9 nights in a Deluxe Twin Room on the 14th floor and overall it was very good value for money (paid about 2131 AED for the stay).
👍 Highlights
Staff – Easily the best part of this hotel. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. That level of hospitality really stood out and made a big difference.
Cleanliness – The room was kept clean every day and housekeeping did a very good job maintaining it.
Breakfast buffet – Surprisingly good variety. They had fresh omelettes made to order, pancakes, waffles, sausages, bacon, cereals and other options. The flavors leaned more toward Western breakfast styles so it didn’t fully match my Indian palate, but it was still a solid breakfast with plenty to choose from. The Mongolian rice was actually excellent.
Location for convenience – The hotel is right in the Binondo / Chinatown area, with plenty of restaurants around. There’s also a Starbucks and a nice café just steps from the hotel, plus an Anytime Fitness nearby. For my work it was very convenient.
⚠️ Things That Could Improve
Check-in process – I arrived around 10am hoping for early check-in, but still had to wait until the standard 3pm check-in time, which was a bit frustrating after a long trip.
Facilities feel dated – Some things like the hair dryer, TV and especially the gym equipment feel quite old and could definitely use an upgrade.
AC issues – The air-conditioning was slightly unpredictable at night. Not a big issue but you could wake up at 4 AM sweating🫢
Room service food – Not great. I ordered a chocolate lava cake that looked nice with two scoops of ice cream but the cake itself was quite bitter.
Minibar – Completely empty, which was surprising especially since the hotel takes a 10,000 peso deposit at check-in.
📍 Area
There are lots of food options nearby and the location is convenient, but the area can feel a bit rough late at night, so I preferred staying indoors after dark.
Final Thoughts
Overall I’d say about 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4, mainly because the staff were genuinely excellent and the stay was good value for money.
Would I stay here again?
Yes — for the value and the staff. I’d just probably skip room service next time.

GGuest UserGreat experience and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and it was fun to see the fish in the aquarium during the day. The water park and biodome were highlights for us.
CClaire BoyleJust quite run down, so didn’t appear super clean.
Really central location for the old part of the walled city but local bar was right outside and quite noisy. Though it did not run too late.
