Outer Banks Motel

We were told our room was "steps from the ocean". Not exactly true. They failed to tell us that the room was on the second story and not "6" steps from the ocean. I found the ceiling in the bathroom was falling down. I found broken slats on a blind. The return vent for the air conditioner was extremely dirty...not sure when it had been cleaned. And there was a note on the fridge to make sure we left the room as clean as when we found it and make sure we emptied all our trash in the dumpster. Plus next to that note was an envelope for tips for the maid. My tip is simple. Please see to it the room is in fact clean, including the return vent on the HVAC system. And maybe it would be a good idea to fix the ceiling in the bathroom, before it comes down on someone. When you pay Hilton Hotel prices for a place, you should give Hilton Hotel value.

Unit had excellent access to the beach which was critical as we were traveling with an elderly person. The commode was too low but maintenance happily and immediately installed a riser I purchased. Certainly not a fancy place to stay but it was clean and had the basics.

NO NO NO NO!!!!! I'm here now. Horrible! Nowhere near the beach - no internet, no TV (and according to the unhelpful girl in the office there is nothing she can do about it), in a stupid little "cabin" over a mile down the road from where they advertized I'd be staying, with nothing but a nasty creek behind it. DON'T STAY HERE!!!

Our family has stayed here many times over the last 9 yrs and this will be the last. Never had such a negative experience. Dirty/wet towel in the bathroom at checkin. We were not even sure the room had been cleaned. Air filter filthy,husband is an asthmatic had hard tme breathng.Grass was overgrown and got a tick.Reported to manager at check out,didn't have much to say except he would address issues with cleaning staff. Disappointing that the manager never apologized. I spent my hard earned on these subpar accommodations and staff don't even seem sympathetic to have offered less than favorable conditions.

Outer Banks Motel offers great little cottage style rooms with beach access. The office area staff were great. The room reminded me of a Cape Cod cottage. To get to the beach, you climbed over small sand dunes. Sand pretty much got everywhere and they supplied a broom to help keep your room a bit less sandy. Each "cottage" had a screened in porch, microwave, fridge, TV, AC etc. It was our responsibility to keep it clean and make our beds. It was close to places to go eat and a short ride to the ferry to Ocracoke Island. There was a salt water pool with chairs available as most Outer Banks beaches have strong undertows and rip currents. This was the priciest stay of our vacation but worth the splurge.

Absolutely shocking experience checked in to a young man at desk not at all friendly given a map To our accommodation. On arriving we sat on the porch with a drink and our little boy went in to explore to our horror he came out to us covered in **** with a box full of **** and drug paraphernalia in his hand asking what it was and that he picked the tub up and it fell all over him We called the front desk spoke to the same young lad who checked us in he actually had the nerve to ask us to drive it along with the rucksack that was next to it up to the hotel ERMMMM NO ITS ILLEGAL IN NC we where obly staying one night so my sons who are visiting from the uk could see the outer banks on our way home from Atlantic beach vacation We ended up having to wait 3 hours after hotel told us police where coming to collect with the manager We left to go for dinner at 9pm everything was closed that we could take our little one into we ended up with sandwiches at home after buying groceries from DG NO contact from manager no apology no nothing Utterly shocking truly truly disgraceful

This is not a nice place and the pictures don’t show you what you get. To top it off, the staff called to verify our arrival and said nothing about the storm or the chance of being stuck on the island. We arrived and left, a good thing or we would have been stuck in this terrible room for a few days. Perhaps the owners see this as a wa to keep the rooms full. We took some pictures so you can get an accurate representation of the room. Notice the lamp, the worn out bedding and the missing pieces of blinds on our “oceanside room” (Don’t expect a view with an oceanside room). If you decide to stay in This area check the weather - we are from another state and didn’t think to, the hotel didn’t say anything until we arrived. We also suggest another hotel, stay clear of this one.

Book a Stay at the OBX motel, wasn't sure what I was going to find. The place was amazing. A unique blend of old and new. New being high speed WiFi , Cable TV , microwave, mini fridge, K-cup coffee and AC was excellent. Old being the place is OLD I don't think you would be allowed to build so close to the waters edge today( I was in unit 106). The interior was clean, functional and in good repair. It s Old but not run down, it looked as though it was from the 1950 and not abused or perfectly restored. What I mean is some old motels have bathrooms with 20 layers of caulk around the tub, missing handles loose shower heads and patched together bits and pieces. This place look unused, like the day it was built in the 1950's, everything looked and functioned as new.

Unfortunately, customer service for long time loyal customers no longer exists. I have been going to this motel for years. My husband came down with cancer- to help him emotionally, I got him 2 toy Aussies (10 pounds each) My two 10 pounds dogs are registered. I have brought my two 10-pound dogs for 3 years. Now I am being told NO!!! But I can bring my 150 pound mastiff that is not registered as emotional support. When I call- I am advised - that is true- I can bring one 100-200 pounds dog- but can't bring my two 10 pound each toy Aussies- that are emotional support registered. I will seek legal counsel to direct me. Also- note on their website- they show 2 small dogs running on the beach. Misleading advertisement. This place is getting dumpy anyway- I guess things happen for a reason. Very upset that after so many years to be treaded so poorly.
