Hotel Villa Flori

The hotel was really cute right on the water with access to a good car park. Absolutely loved the bar area and restaurant which were fantastic experiences overall. I would highly recommend the hotel for commuters. Reception staff were adequate if a little cold compared to some of the other hotels we stayed at in our journey but still good enough service to not put us off the experience. My only criticism was that the reception staff could've been a little friendlier but like I said previously they were fine overall. The room was ok, would have preferred a king size bed rather than 2 single beds stuck together but the view and cleanliness was excellent. We would potentially stay again if we were in the area.

We chose Villa Flori on price because other luxury properties at Lake Como on the lake and with lake views were very expensive. Villa Flori is a luxurious hotel just outside of Como on the road that leads north to Cernobbio and beyond. The hotel is situated between the road and the lake. You may not that other reviews talk about traffic noise as the road is very busy but be mindful this same road passes the Grand Tremezzo and the Victoria so those hotels have the same amount of noise. Its not the hotels fault is just the way the geography of the lake allowed a road to be built. The Villa Flori is near a ferry stop in fact just a 50 metre walk and also near a bust stop so transport options nearby are convenient. Its also just outside Cernobbio and its restaurants, shops, super market etc as that is all about a 10 minute walk away. The Hotel also has parking for a fee but reasonable considering where you are. The lobby is beautifully appointed and is kind of an entree in terms of views until you get to your room and they open the door. My room was a suite and had a huge bedroom, lobby and bathroom with a balcony with the most breath taking views of the south of Lake Como and Como the town in the distance. My sister had a corner suite with a massive terrace with sun loungers on it. It was beautiful to wake up each day to the lovely view. Breakfast is served in the breakfast salon on the lower ground floor and you sit out on a terrace enjoying the sun and the views. Their are hot and cold options which change everyday. You can also have breakfast delivered to your room for a nominal cost and there was always so much on the tray that I had snacks left over for the rest of the day. The bar here is wonderful. Its small and serves food and drink and the views if you sit outside are wonderful. The staff are very attentive and the food was delicious. Drinks are delivered with the usual olives, crisps and other snacks which Italian hotels do. We had room service on my sisters vast terrace one night and really enjoyed that especially the very interesting interpretation of Tiramisu. Villa Flori is an excellent base from which to explore Lake Como in comfort with everything you need and close to transport and to major attractions. I walked from the Villa to Como a couple of times and I have a walking stick. There is a path that is easy to navigate and you can see some lovely Villas along the way. It only takes about 30 minutes and you can sit and admire the view as there are seats about every 30 metres. If we were to visit Lake Como again we would definitely stay at Villa Flori.

Perfect location, stunning views. Expensive but room view was killer. The formal restaurant was the most overpriced restaurant we ate in during our two week trip. Don’t eat there, all attitude not by any means exceptional. Porter no where to be found at check in. Self parking which was very expensive. This is a place for 1%ers and they know it. The view was more than worth end expense.

My wife and I went to Italy for our honeymoon and started here at Hotel Villa Flori. We were absolutely blown away by the experience here, from the food, to the views, and most importantly, the staff. We felt like we were the only ones there, considering the team that each staff member would help us address and questions we had. One of the managers, Mattia, spent an extremely generous amount of time with us to ensure we saw all that Como had to offer. He meticulously walked us through recommendations, how to get fairy tickets, and anything else we needed help with. We could not recommend this hotel enough if you are visiting Como.

The hotel is stunningly beautiful, all the staff are were so friendly and accommodating. They helped recommend local restaurants and things to do around lake como. It was a great location to do everything. We can’t thank enough the man on reception who helped us find a taxi to the airport in the early hours of the morning of the 1st April without your help we would’ve missed our flight home. (Sorry we didn’t get his name). The food was impeccable and the rooms comfortable and clean. Thanks we will definitely be back again to visit in the future.

Hotel overall was great. Villa Flori is located a less than 5 minute walk from Tavernola Ferry Base. There is a ~30 minute walking path into Como. The walking route is pedestrian friendly and hugs the water along the way. Would be fine to walk as a family. Hotel has its own ferry dock that you can schedule any boat tours to pick up/drop off from. Restaurant was very high-end. Service was perfect. Price is reflective of the atmosphere and service. Breakfast had a variety of options, service was great. Options to sit indoors or outside. Boxes provided for takeaway instead of dining in, upon request. Breakfast 7am Room was clean and a decent size. Balcony view of the lake was superb. Rooms are typically for the age/boutique type vibe. Turndown service was a nice touch. Mattia at the front desk was wonderful. Knowledgeable, helpful and emailed us a bunch of recommendations. If you walk toward the Tavernola ferry and continue onwards there is a Pizza place across from Gran Mercado. Otherwise, food options are limited unless you walk into Como. Gran Mercado had a great selection of meats/cheeses/wine. Uber is non existent and Taxis are nearly impossible to find in Como. Ferry is decent option but not reliable. Front desk likely could have assisted with calling a taxi if needed.
