"The rooms were really spacious and the breakfast was delicious!! I would really recommend booking that if you‘re staying here. The only thing I have to criticize is that the gym is really small and it will quickly get crowded if multiple guests want to use it at once. There is only one multi use machine and treadmills, a bike and some weights which are way too heavy for most trainings. Overall we had a really great stay though!"

It provides guests with little reminders that life is sometimes enriched and enlivened by taking an opposite view, opinion or side and that this can be refreshing.
"This comment may be a bit long.
I come here for check in around 3:30pm, there are a group of elders checking in front me, I waited around 30minutes there. I think the reception is a responsible one but he can either speed up the progress, skip some of the elders questions, and also hotel to consider add one more staff there to support. The long waiting time of check-in delay my travel visit here.
The room is very clean, and also new. The place is a little far away by not that far from main city.
The room windows are all locked, it is a bit frustrated.
The hot water suspended, and when i called reception for 5 times, they finally pick my phone up saying technical issues into 8am , which i have to leave the hotel at 8:15am for my flight...
Finally, the breakfast is insanely good! You guys can have a try."

"To start with the good points the location is very convenient near the Cathedral and train station and a busy shopping street with plenty of restaurants just at the corner but it was very quiet at night. Also the breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The main disadvantage is that the hotel seems very old so modern things like having outlets for charging in the room were very limited. Of course no air conditioning in summer is normal here but no fan was provided like at some other hotels, I assume because of the lack of outlets for power. The room is very small and has not been well maintained or updated but the bed was comfortable and the WiFi worked well. The tv has some international channels for news. For the price and location I would stay again but probably I would try somewhere else."

"The hotel is very close to the Cologne Exhibition Hall, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there. The receptionist is very friendly. The room is clean and sanitary, and there is plenty of hot water. Disadvantages: Breakfast is a bit expensive at 28 euros; the quilt is too thin and too short (but not cold).
Summary: I will choose this place again when I attend the Cologne Exhibition next time."

Absolutely Cologne. The Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom is as Cologne as its city: authentic and hearty: seriously enchanting stunningly individual fun-loving and cosmopolitan. Cologne's way of life is very contagious and always a lot of fun. In the Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom in the very center of Cologne you can feel it taste it and simply let yourself be swept away.
"An ordinary economy hotel. I stayed here for one night. The location is excellent. It is very close to Cologne Cathedral. The underground parking lot is relatively large. The elevator can directly reach the hotel and the guest room. The room facilities are very ordinary. There is no bottled water. The bathroom door is difficult to close. The glass window is only more than 1 meter high above, and there is more than 1 meter below the wall, which makes the room very depressing.
When I checked in, I thought this hotel was so ordinary and I thought there must be few breakfast options. The next day, I went to the restaurant in the E building and got an unexpected reward. The breakfast was not bad. The croissants were very crispy, and there were ginger and lemons that I could cut myself to make ginger tea or lemon tea."

"Lyskirchen Köln is such a good choice even the locals and traveling Germans recommend it. The location is 5-7 minutes away from the Chocolate Museum and roughly 15 minutes from the cathedral and central station. You can easily walk to the restaurants (including a nice Thai place called Krua Thai) and bars and reach the Roman museum and Hohenzollern bridge without much effort. The rooms at Lyskirchen are comfortable but don't expect the typical extras associated with 4-star hotels. I was grateful for the swimming pool, which was spacious enough that kids don't bother you when you do short laps (most will be disappointed with the gym though). I highly recommend doing the online check-in because the front desk will tell you to perform it there anyway. Lyskirchen Köln has these really nice eco-friendly keycards too. The breakfast is typical intercontinental and limited (so if it's not included with the room the 25 euros isn't worth it). Overall, the hotel is still an excellent choice for a brief stop at Köln."

"My favourite hotel in the whole of my Europe Trip thus far… As expected of a Marriot-branded hotel, the rooms we stayed in are spotlessly clean. Hotel provides pretty good detox water in the lobby. However though, it’s not quite conveniently located with a 10+ minutes walk from the train station (unlike what was stated in its listing) and not centrally located near cologne’s main attractions."

The location was convenient, about a five-minute walk from the nearby bus stop. Tourist attractions like Cologne Cathedral and the Old Town are easily accessible by public transportation or taxi. Small supermarkets and small eateries are nearby, making daily groceries and meals convenient. The room was of moderate size, spacious enough for a single occupancy but a bit cramped for a double. The furniture and furnishings showed some signs of use, but were generally clean and tidy, and the bedding was perfectly soft, ensuring a pleasant sleep. The bathroom had a nice, dry/wet area with a reliable hot water supply. The toiletries were basic, but those with skincare needs are advised to bring their own. Regarding service, the front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were both prompt and helpful. They patiently answered questions about directions to attractions, but they didn't proactively offer any extra touches (such as local recommendations or extended luggage storage). Breakfast is a simple buffet with basic items like bread, ham, eggs, coffee, and juice. The taste is quite satisfactory and can satisfy your hunger, but those who seek a richer meal may find it a bit monotonous. GGuest UserHighly recommended! The room was excellent and very spacious. The bed was big enough for me and my child; since we booked for two adults and one child, they even provided an extra bed, so we had three beds in total! The location is fantastic. It's very close to the train station and Cologne Cathedral, just a 5-minute walk away, yet it's tucked away from the main hustle, which made us feel quite safe and secure. We took a stroll near the hotel and discovered a highly-rated restaurant. We tried some authentic German cuisine there, and it was quite good. Cologne is truly wonderful; we even got some photos just like Jay Chou's!
I highly recommend Trip.com! All our hotels for this Europe trip were booked through them, and it gave us great peace of mind. I compared their prices with several major platforms, and they truly offered the best rates. Highly, highly recommended!

GGuest UserThis hotel is very good. There's a supermarket across the street and the station is a 7-minute walk away, which is super convenient. It's a bit bigger and cleaner than the H+ room we stayed in before. The service is also good. The only regret is that the room doesn't come with water.

GGuest UserWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). It’s incredibly convenient if you’re traveling by train or planning to explore the old town on foot. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and major attractions in under 10 minutes.
💰 Excellent Value for Money
For such a prime central location, the room rate was very affordable. It’s rare to find a hotel this close to the station and city center at such a low price. The room was basic but clean, and included breakfast, which made it an even better deal.
🛏️ Room Tips
Rooms facing the street or train station might get a bit noisy, so I recommend asking for a quiet room facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper.

GGuest UserI booked the mixed 4-bed dorm as there were no other options in the city under €300/night. The location is very convenient and quiet, making it easy to get around by foot or public transport. The reception staff were extremely kind and helpful.
However, I didn’t feel fully comfortable sharing the room with three men, especially since there were no curtains for privacy on the beds. Cleanliness could be improved, as there was visible dust, the room wasn’t well lit, and the outlets and reading light at my bed didn’t work. The bathrooms also lacked ventilation and a bath mat, which caused humidity and puddles after showering.
For €74 per night, I expected more comfort and cleanliness. Still, this hostel has great potential if some improvements are made.

GGuest UserStay was ok but even for 3* I found various factors very upsetting;
#1. Stairwell main fire escape ALL doors were wedged open!! Is this legal?!
#2. Entering the room my first impression as a stained seemingly worn out carpet looking disgusting!!
#3. Using the toilet I found I could not close the door because the toilet IS IN THE WAY!!! *******!!!
#4. The safe for my keys, money and passport was BROKEN and impossible to use - no handle, no batteries. This gave me a worried feeling throughout my stay!!!
#5. THE TELEVISION DID NOT WORK - and it seems HASNT WORKED FOR WEEKS!! Outrageous and in breach of your contract.
#6. A small but simple point to correct - a missing bedside lamp shade.
#7. Finally just a point of service with the lady serving breakfast noisily clipclooping about in her shoes as well as being surly and noisy with serving and clearing breakfast

Then the more we got a feeling of the area & the room & its amenities we took a step back and realised it's not bad at all. It certainly isn't the Ritz, but you sometimes have to take a step back and accept for what the price we paid in a major city with a brilliant location. It's a very good deal. Room. The cleaner was very nice she came in every day for the basic jobs, comfortable bed, lovely, big pillows, hair dryer shower good pressure and comfortable for our size etc etc. We chose the breakfast which we knew it was going to be continental style, Ok for the 3 days but limited and same each morning. Muhammad, the general manager, is such a likeable guy. Everything we asked, he sorted.thanks, mate. The guys in the breakfast hall are all helpful & polite. Remember, those who are looking for a major hotel it's not that, but we see our trips around citys as just needing a base. we spend most of the days out once we've left the room.
