"Title: Squeaky Clean and Good Storage, But Be Aware of Strict Cashless Fees and Missing Essentials Review: I recently stayed at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kobe Sannomiya. While the hardware of the hotel is good, certain policies and service gaps significantly impacted the comfort of my stay. On the positive side, the hygiene standards here are excellent. The room was spotless and very modern, which is always the most critical factor for me when traveling. I also want to express my appreciation for the luggage keeping arrangement. Being able to store my bags securely and easily both before check-in and after check-out was a huge help, allowing me to explore Kobe freely without the burden of heavy luggage. However, international travelers need to be aware of a major caveat: this is a strictly ”cashless” hotel. I attempted to pay with cash to avoid bank fees, but was refused. I was forced to use my VISA card, which meant I was hit with foreign transaction and exchange fees that amounted to roughly an extra 5% cost on my trip. I found this policy very rigid and frustrating for guests who prefer using cash. Furthermore, the in-room amenities and service were disappointing. Guests should know that the rooms are completely bare of essentials—there are no razors, toothbrushes, or toothpaste provided in the room. Realizing this late at night caused unnecessary trouble. Additionally, the housekeeping service lacked attention to detail; even though my Yukata (sleepwear) was clearly used and left out to be changed, the staff did not replace it with a fresh one. Overall, Sotetsu Fresa Inn offers a very clean environment, but the lack of basic in-room amenities and the strict payment policy make it difficult for me to fully recommend it to travelers trying to manage their budget and convenience."

"This single room was booked for a friend, and they were very satisfied. For praises and suggestions about the hotel, please refer to my previous review. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to attractions like Meriken Park, Kobe Port, Chinatown, Kyu-kyoryuchi (Old Foreign Settlement), Kitano Ijinkan-gai (Foreigner's Street), and the Sannomiya shopping street. You can also visit KOHYO Life Supermarket (see photo 4) which has many delicious items. The supermarket is located at the east exit of Sannomiya Station; you can spot its sign halfway up the tall building from a distance."

"The hotel boasts an excellent location right next to Sannomiya Station, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. The room was a bit cramped. There were English-speaking staff at the front desk, which made communication very easy. Check-in is at 2 PM and check-out is at 12 PM, which is more convenient than other Japanese hotels. The breakfast offered a wide variety and good quality. The hotel also has fantastic views; you can see the ocean to the south and the mountains to the north, which is beautiful. It's an excellent choice for sightseeing in Kobe."

"Facilities: The hotel is very new, and the room is quite spacious for Japan. It was very comfortable for a family of three staying in a twin room, and we could even push the two beds together. The bedding was also very comfortable. Environment: It's not far from Sannomiya Station, with a commercial street downstairs. It's about a seven to eight-minute walk to the station and not far from Meriken Park, roughly a fifteen-minute walk. We often strolled there after dinner. Breakfast was quite substantial, with a good variety of Western-style options, and it was delicious!"

"Due to a canceled flight from Osaka to Sapporo, Trip.com rebooked us for the next day, flying from Kobe, and we stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel. It's an old, established 5-star hotel, over 30 years old. There are two daily shuttle buses to and from Osaka Kansai Airport, which is very convenient. It's right above Shin-Kobe Station, and a 20-minute walk to Sannomiya. The hotel breakfast was just okay, but the ambiance and service were excellent. Because our flight was canceled, I had to cancel a whiskey distillery tour scheduled for the next afternoon, and the hotel staff kindly helped me call the distillery to arrange that. The price was about a third of what it would cost domestically, making it fantastic value for money."

"The room was extremely dark, making it feel a bit eerie, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. However, the tall, Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk was incredibly polite. The surrounding area is very convenient for shopping, with a FamilyMart convenience store right outside the door. It's also very close to Daimaru Department Store, and Kobe Port Tower is easily accessible."

"The hotel's location is great, very close to Sannomiya but not in the busiest area, so it's very quiet. We stayed for four nights. The first three nights were in a double room. Due to a change in our itinerary, we added an extra night. We thought the twin room might be more spacious, but it turned out to be the same size as the double room. With two single beds crammed in, the room felt very small and wasn't as convenient for moving around as the double room. We could open one 28-inch suitcase, but opening another 28-inch one wasn't as easy as in the double room. The hotel staff were friendly and enthusiastic, providing toothbrushes, towels, and slippers for the child. Besides the kids' items, the room's towels, slippers, toothbrushes, makeup remover pads, and combs were replaced daily, and two new bottles of water were provided. However, extra water couldn't be requested. The hotel also offers luggage storage, which is very convenient."
