Hotels near Ao Thian Ok, Koh Tao

We loved this place, the hotel is not far from the pier, we actually walked with children and managed it even in the heat, literally about 5-10 minutes, just turn right out of the pier and walk straight to the end of the road, its tucked away right at the end, fabulous spot. The room we had was amazing, big comfy bed for us, bunk bed for the kids, raised seated area, huge balcony and great bathroom, fridge, tv with cable channels, water, tea coffee provided, hairdryer, towels and room kept clean daily. The pool was a great size, you get towels from reception. The staff are all lovely and on hand to help with anything you need, we had breakfast included which was really good, continental selection, food to order (you can choose 2 items off a menu) and good tea/coffee machine and they have proper big mugs! we ate at the restaurant for lunch and once for dinner too and both times the food was lovely and really good value for money. If we ever return to Koh Tao this is definitely where we will stay again, highly recommend.

Wonderful resort where we stayed in the family beach bungalow. Very nice accommodation. Everything was very clean and staff very friendly. Especially Tida who helped us 2 times in the restaurant was very helpful.

We originally booked a fan room above the dive shop. When we arrived and realized how hot that was going to be, we asked to be moved to the beach side bungalows with air conditioners. It was well worth the extra price per night. The difference in the bed comfort, the pillows, and the spaciousness of the room and bathroom was pretty dramatic. We had a king bed (two full beds pushed together) and it wasn't as uncomfortable as it sounds. We slept very well each night. The thick curtains completely blocked out most of the light and the air conditioner worked perfectly. We had a fridge and safe in the room and the resort provided 2 bottles of water every day when they cleaned the room. We had a view of the pool and beach. The morning dives leave from the beach right there at the resort making it very convenient to have multiple dives per day. The pricing was reasonable and similar to other resorts in the area, but this place had more of a feeling of camaraderie. We really enjoyed hanging out with the other divers and the employees. The resort is close enough to town to be within walking distance so we went out most every day for shopping/massages/lunch. The restaurant attached to the resort has an extensive menu that is well priced with inexpensive drink specials during happy hour. The pool table is free to use (not the case with other bars in town.) Have Coco make you a margarita and play a game of pool with you (ask him what his favorite shot is.) When it was time for us to leave, the receptionist sat down with us to give us travel tips and places to see for the rest of our time in Thailand. She was very friendly and helpful. We feel like we hit the jackpot with this resort. It had everything we needed, a dive center where I could complete my OW and AOW certifications, restaurant, bar, beach and pool. We will absolutely put this on our list of places to stay in the future when we travel to Thailand again.

In a very pleasant and quite busy location by the beach. Lots of ”life”, restaurants and activities offered in the immediate proximity of the resort. Our room was big and very comfortable with a pleasant terrace to enjoy the sunset. Great selection of dishes for breakfast... Overall an excellent choice for our first two nights in Koh Tao.

I requested a transfer from the pier to the hotel at the hotel. One way meet for free. There are guys on the pier with signs (name of the hotel). Pay 20 baht entrance to Koh Tao and you will be taken to the reception. I was greeted by friendly staff, they gave me the key to the room, they explained everything. We took a regular room with breakfast included. There are no shops nearby, so either take it with you, if possible, or eat at a restaurant (normal prices), or you can order a transfer of 150 baht per person one way to Sayri, there are shops there. The room is nice, clean, kettle, fridge. Breakfast is not a buffet, to choose from. Portions are good. We also dined at the restaurant, they cook and bring quickly. The staff is very attentive, always smiling. They bring everything quickly, if you need something, ask and help in everything. Thank you very much for such hospitality! We swam with masks, it was very beautiful, the sunset was right from the shore and there were a lot of fish. We saw small sharks swimming by. In the morning there was a low tide, you can enter the water on the left near the stones or on the right, also near the stones. A lot of emotions! Return transfer to the pier, 100 baht per person. The roads are very steep but the views are beautiful. We walked from the hotel to the other side of the island. Ascents, descents are steep, hard, but interesting. On the way back, we met 3 snakes in a small area. In the end, I want to say that I liked everything in the hotel, one delight!

Our room was in the jungle house, which was a little.further than I anticipated when booking, but actually turned out to be amazing. Quiet, beautiful location. Spacious room with a wonderful view. Friendly and helpful staff. Close enough to walk to the action around Sairee Beach. They also.provided a shuttle buggy to/from the beach. Would definitely stay again.

This one asks for permission to be an honest review (purely based on my own experience). strength 1.Good view, sunset view On the balcony of the room, this is really good. 2. Location: Convenient location near bars, restaurants, and food. 3. The accommodation is next to the beach. weakness 1. The room where you will stay The water flows very slowly. That is, you have to allow 1 hour for showering. 2. Shower gel, put in a 5-10 ml. bottle, that is, pour it all in one go. 3. This is a big problem. That is, the employees have very poor communication. (Being a Burmese person) who can't communicate in English and Thai. There is a problem with breakfast every day. ** Went during the renovation of the restaurant ** Must bring the coupon to the Bluewater restaurant. but!! Only gave 1 coupon, stayed 3 nights, only gave one night, very confused, had to argue with the restaurant every day. Until the last day, I didn't ask for food. Request a refund for breakfast 4. The shift went to rest. The first night I was able to sleep. Then the second night there was a sound of nails being hammered. The loud noise from 7:45 a.m. made me angry and had to wake up. In conclusion, go ask and tell them to renovate. That is, before renovating, customers should be informed. There should be a sign posted announcing what day and time the hotel will be renovated. There is a lack of communication. I mean, we're not okay at all. 6. Paid 8800.88 baht, slept 3 nights, didn't get peace. Total comfort. 7. After breakfast On the first day of staying, I woke up early and went down to eat breakfast. Ask the employee at the counter. I was told where to go to eat. I said walk 2 minutes and it's on the left and you'll get there. So I just walked as told. In summary, the restaurants are arranged in a row. Wrong entry, walked back to the hotel. Let me help you go. We went and asked him to eat for free. This one is not okay. Note: Whoever wants to go and take a break, go ahead. We review truthfully. We may be unlucky enough to encounter situations like this ourselves.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay here. The location of the hotel is amazing, on the beach along a very busy ***** of restaurants and beach bars which was great. However, the hotel itself was sadly a let down. The hotel keep whistling birds in cages just outside the hotel rooms so expect to be woken at all hours by birds whistling louder than we could believe. The room we were in was very basic to the point where the only plug socket was by the front door, so to dry my hair I had to stand at the front door with no mirror or chair… The shower was a fixed height (very low) so my partner had to be on his knees to wash his hair and I had to bend significantly despite not being very tall. The room was very dark with basically no natural light at all throughout the day. The bedding was just a thick blanket, that I imagine isn’t washed between guests, in between two loose sheets so the blanket kept coming out of the sheets. The toilet was very temperamental and wouldn’t always flush properly. One positive is that the air con was strong however to circulate the air we also had the fan on and this made an annoying screeching noise when it turned to a certain point, which again, woke us up during the night. We didn’t have breakfast because we had a look at what was on offer and decided to go elsewhere as there are lots of nice local places to eat. The staff also weren’t the most pleasant and even got our dates confused when we checked in. Sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location is nice and quiet, walking distance to other restaurants through the beach. The beach is very nice, clean and good for kids especially when the tide is low. Our Cabana was spacious, beautiful, although a bit dark. The water pressure was low and we didn’t have hot water. We asked them to fix it but it didn’t happen on time before our check-out. We stayed for two nights. The pool has a waterfall, and it looks a little run down. Nice view to the sea from the pool, though. The breakfast (included) was ok. Fruits, bread, but not many options for vegetarian/vegans in the menu. Dinners were good. Overall, a beautiful hotel, kind staff, great location, maintenance response could be better.

I absolutely cannot recommend the hotel. The hotel was probably closed for 4 years and reopened in December 2023. It is in very bad condition. The rooms are outdated, the facility is dirty and still under construction. Building materials are flying everywhere. We didn't have a cow at first. We booked the chalet/bungalow. We had to leave the chalet we had booked immediately upon arrival because the smell was very strong. The lady at the hotel said that the paint had been freshly painted the day before. Here I ask myself why this is even offered to guests. After waiting for over an hour we got a room in a low category, we were once again negatively surprised. The air conditioning didn't cool down properly, there was no refrigerator in the room, no safe, no hairdryer, no shower enclosure in the bathroom. The equipment is very old. The TV does not work. There are no cupboards in the room to store clothes. The single bed is right next to the double bed & not separate with a partition in the room as booked in the chalet. The hotel complex is also horrible. Everything is still under renovation. Unfortunately, this was not noted anywhere by booking. There are several construction workers walking around. There is building material everywhere. The facility itself is very littered. Just like the pool. The pool bar & restaurant empty. There are no pool towels. Just like the pool. The pool bar & restaurant empty. There are no pool towels. The breakfast was inedible. After we slept in the hotel for one night, we were once again negatively surprised after our trip. The room wasn't even cleaned. No fresh towels. After my complaint, a lady came who wanted to clean our room. Unfortunately that was too late as we had to leave again. The staff at the hotel are very nice, but they cannot help us with the above-mentioned deficiencies. This hotel corresponds to a maximum of a 1-2 star hotel & not a 4 star hotel as described in booking. The renovation would have to be completed before this could be offered to guests.
