I specifically chose a hotel near an MRT station for the marathon. This hotel is near Jingmei MRT station, just a 3-minute walk away. There are signs on the first floor, and the hotel is on the third floor.
The counter on the third floor looked very elegant and upscale. Since I booked through Ctrip, I got the key and checked in immediately after confirming my ID. I stayed on the fourth floor, and the layout wasn't cold or impersonal when I stepped out of the elevator, but the air felt a bit stuffy.
You need a card to press the elevator buttons. The room door lock is a traditional key type, so be careful to double-lock it before going to sleep or leaving the room.
Regarding cleanliness, I found a leftover plastic straw sleeve; I hope they can improve on this aspect.
The room itself was standard, with everything you'd expect. The only issue was that the TV remote didn't work. I contacted the front desk to check, but it still didn't work. However, I could manually turn it on by pressing the power button on the back. I don't sleep with the TV on, so it didn't bother me. I suggest the hotel provide a spare power button.
There's a night market and convenience store within a 3-minute walk of the hotel, which is very convenient.
Overall, I'd give it a 90 out of 100. If I participate in another race next year, I'd consider staying here!

Pretty decent hotel with a unique shape. Round building so the room is kind of round too. Can see that the furniture has to be custom made to fit the shape of the room. Room boost 101 view though it is a distance away. Can also soak in the tub and get 101 view too. Quite a few complimentary snacks in the room so happy with that. Being in the university, hotel is academic themed which is a nice touch. Love the decor of the Italian restaurant which also serves as the breakfast venue. Food was pretty good as well. All in, a nice stay in a hotel that is located just across from the night market and mrt station.

Owing to the hotel’s proximity to the main dormitory of the Taiwan Railway Station in the past, the entire floor plan is based around vintage railroad components, evoking memories of the city and its visitors. With platform lights acting as room numbers, each floor corridor embodies a train cabin loaded with memories, showcasing famous trains like as the Chu-Kuang Express, Tze-Chiang Limited Express and Ordinary Train. With graphics inspired by train windows, seats and handrails, we bring the spirit of trains into the space, which is characterized by classic train cabin colors like blue, gray and dark green, accented with bright yellow.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They offer free use of a washing machine and dryer, which is a huge plus. While there's no official breakfast, they provide complimentary thick-cut toast and coffee, and it's all-you-can-eat, which is fantastic! They also have a designated parking lot for guests. The location is excellent, very close to public transportation and shopping areas, making it super convenient. The only downside is the soundproofing, but thankfully, the other guests were very considerate at night, so it didn't impact my sleep quality. The triple rooms and larger feel a bit small, but all the essential amenities are well-provided. It would be even better if they offered rooms that weren't bunk beds!

I'D SUGGEST EVERYONE TO AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!
Front desk is very efficient and friendly.
However, the owner of the business couldn't care less about his/her clients, as all equipments are old, and not maintained properly.
I had to change two rooms over one night, as the insulation was super bad, you could hear water dripping from the ceiling ( which didn't not stop within 20mins, you could hear every single water drip), this happened in two rooms. The aircon in the first room, which I stayed the night previously, was broken, and wouldn't turn off even after disconnecting electricity.
No humidifier was provided in each room I stayed, which was pretty horrible as it's very damp in Taiwan. They had some, but all provided for other clients, as I was told.

Booked a single room for my business trip to Taipei this time, and it was excellent value for money. The breakfast had a good variety and consistent quality. The room was clean and tidy, and there was a water dispenser right by room 618, which was super convenient for hot and cold water – the hot water even reached 100 degrees, perfect for instant noodles! The only downsides were the lack of a convenience store nearby and the less-than-ideal transportation; the nearest MRT station, Taipower Building, was a 10-15 minute walk, a bit far.

This was my first stay, and overall I had a great experience. Even though the hotel is a bit older, it's very well maintained. The front desk staff were friendly, and having a dedicated parking lot in Greater Taipei is a real bonus. The breakfast was simple but tasty.

The in-room hot spring was nice, and the water was hot enough. The hotel is a bit old and seems like it hasn't been renovated in a long time. They only provide two bottles of water in the room, and there were no slippers, toothbrushes, or shower caps. Breakfast was very mediocre.
Norway Forest Spa Motel is located on Baoqiao Road, Xindian District, close to the Science and Technology Park, Carrefour, Examination Institutes, various universities, and the mansion business district. There are also Maokong Gondola, Zoo, Bitan, Wulai and Shenkeng. Famous scenic spots, such as Shuangbei, Keelung, Yilan, and Taoyuan, can be directly reached through various traffic roads around them. It is quite convenient and easy to find, just like the back garden of Taipei. The whole museum presents a bright and steady texture with a modern architectural style, and also provides an environment of leisure themes and visual entertainment. It is hoped that with minimalism with luxury and modern with fashion, it will bring you a different new experience from a new angle. In addition to preserving the privacy and fun of the motel, it also takes into account the needs of family leisure and business investigations. The paddling pool, leisure, fun, stress relief, and entertainment are all complete, providing you with unforgettable new enjoyments with hearty service.

Aside from a slight smell of smoke—despite being advertised as a smoke-free environment, the smell of smoke was still overwhelming!—everything else was really good. The breakfast was decent, with vegetables and fruit. I really liked the large bathroom in the room, and they even provided snacks and instant noodles, which was great value!

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention.
HHillary ShihEverything is good except they have specific floor accesibility for the elevator. Therefore need to spare out some time. Also, their check in time is 5pm instead of regular 2 or 3pm, I didn’t notice it until I reach there at 4pm. Their socket have Type G power sockets, which are the same British standard three-rectangular-pin outlets as in the UK, Malaysia and Singapore. Very convenient 👍 Big tv screen as well and provided water bottle
GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right opposite the Y13 exit. First off, you'll need to climb stairs to reach the service counter as there's no elevator. The bathroom is en-suite, and they provide lockers. As for the bed setup, there's a small space at the head for personal items, and extra room at the foot of the bed for your luggage, backpack, and other belongings, which really helps create a more private feel. They offer a simple breakfast including toast, buns, shaomai, coffee, and tea.
GGuest UserThe hotel is bright, clean, and in a good location. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.
During check-in, the staff (a lady with a birthmark on her left cheek) spoke to me in a very condescending and rude tone, as though I owed her something. I also observed that she treated other guests in the same manner. If she is unhappy with her job, she should quit rather than leave hotel guests with such an unpleasant experience.
Upon checkout, I left my luggage at the hotel and was asked what time I would collect it. I informed her that I would return at 10 pm., but she insisted that I collect it before 10 pm. As my flight was at 2 am., this forced me to rush back earlier than planned and head to the airport much sooner than necessary.
SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card.
Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes.
The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.
AAnonymous UserGotten a basement room, the room is clean but kinda small to open up the luggage. Also because it's basement room, there is a constant musky smell emitting from the toilet and filled up the room pretty fast. Have request for a change of room but it is similar issue. Overall it's a comfortable stay near XMD but the room smell is pretty bad.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is great, and it's also close to Taipei Main Station. If you're taking the Airport MRT, I recommend exiting from Taipei Main Station A1, Exit 5. From there, you can walk straight to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes (including waiting for traffic lights).
The nearby MRT stations are NTU Hospital Station (3-minute walk) and Taipei Main Station (7-minute walk). There are also many bus stops, making transportation very convenient.
Regarding the check-in experience, the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and guest rooms for this hotel occupy floors 3-5. There are only two elevators, and since the building houses other businesses, waiting for an elevator can take a while.
The front desk staff were professional and efficient. Before check-in, there was about a minute-long 'rap' outlining the check-in policies.
The hotel bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. It seems to have been recently renovated, as it felt spacious and bright. Soundproofing was acceptable; I could still hear cleaning noises from outside and sounds from the adjacent room. I chose a room with a window this time, but the window couldn't be opened.
Amenities provided were limited to slippers and toilet paper. The shampoo and shower gel were a 2-in-1 product, with a light, pleasant scent and no strange odors.
Overall, it was a pretty good stay, even exceeding my expectations.
(Attached: hotel check-in instructions, a picture before check-out, and the nearest Airport MRT exit to the hotel.)
AAldo Lesmana Mukti PratamaThis hotel is located on the 7th floor of Asia Plaza Tower. Check-in starts at 4 PM, but you can leave your luggage earlier, which is very convenient. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station.
The room looks newly renovated and is clean, giving a fresh and comfortable feel. However, the amenities are quite limited, as there is no hair dryer provided. Overall, a good stay for its location and cleanliness.
GGuest UserThis hotel is super convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Taipei Main Station's M2 exit. You can easily walk to Ningxia Night Market and Ximending in about 20 minutes, and even Dihua Street if you're up for it. Popular spots like Fuhang Soy Milk and Shuangyue Food Company are also within walking distance, so you'll have no trouble finding great food and shopping from morning till night.
The guest rooms are located on the 5th to 7th floors of a multi-purpose building. While the double bed takes up most of the room, making it quite compact, there's a small indoor balcony-like space at the back. It has a compact table and chairs, perfect for eating takeout, and enough room to open your suitcase.
