Perfect
RRainie_MaThis was my second time visiting Quanzhou, and choosing Lushu (录莳) was a decision all three of us absolutely loved. Even though it's technically a guesthouse, it definitely has more of a hotel vibe. The facilities and cleanliness are far superior to many other smaller guesthouses, offering a much more standardized experience. The hotel's design is quite artistic, and there's a rooftop where you can see the Kaiyuan Temple Pagoda. The best part, however, is its excellent location. It's just a one-minute walk to the entrance of West Street. While not directly *on* West Street, this is actually a huge plus because you can park right outside, and they even have their own parking garage. Last time I stayed *in* West Street, it looked convenient but you can't drive in. Staying here meant we avoided dragging our luggage through the heat, which was fantastic! Plus, it’s tucked away, so it’s surprisingly quiet despite being so central. The staff, both the young men and women, were wonderful. Sometimes we'd order takeout very early, and they'd go out of their way to open the gate for the delivery rider and bring it to our room. They were incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. Upon check-in, they provided a hand-drawn map, which was a lovely, thoughtful touch! I have to say, there are so many great places to eat and drink nearby, all within walking distance! This time, I fell in love with the unique specialty drinks at various coffee shops in Quanzhou. Perhaps because they are independent small businesses, each has its own distinct flavor, unlike the chain brands that dominate in a city like Shanghai, which often lack character. 'Haituo' (海獭), 'Mianyang' (绵羊), and 'VEE VEE' nearby are all excellent. This trip, I also tried 'Xiao Niang Re' (小娘惹) photography. I'd done 'Zanhua' (簪花) before, but 'Xiao Niang Re' was even prettier, haha! After the shoot, you can find a place for makeup removal and a scalp treatment. The 'Chafu' (茶麸) shop in Jiadi Lane (甲第巷) is really good! It saves you the trouble of doing it yourself, which can be exhausting. At Kaiyuan Temple, I spent 30 yuan to unlock a 'Black Wukong' (黑悟空) look – it felt quite surreal and was a fun new experience, haha. When you come to Quanzhou, you absolutely have to visit the seaside. Moon Bay Floating Stone Camp (月亮湾浮石营地) instantly transports you to Jeju Island. You can go to Luojia Temple (洛迦寺) first, which is about an hour from the hotel, then head to Moon Bay, also about an hour away. While you're at it, you can also fit in Chongwu Ancient City (崇武古城) and Huian Folk Culture Park (惠安风情园)! If you're tired when you get back, a massage is highly recommended. You can enjoy a foot soak while getting a shoulder and neck massage, along with some healthy tea. Each person gets their own private space, almost like a study room. Every visit to Quanzhou brings new surprises! I'll definitely be staying at Lushu again next time! 👍

ZZouzailushangdepipiThis hotel offers excellent service; the staff are all very warm and welcoming. The drinks, ice cream, and game console at the front desk were a must-have for the kids whenever we left or returned. The roasted sweet potatoes were also delicious – please prepare more! The room was very clean, with great attention to detail. The price increase during the Chinese New Year wasn't too outrageous, which was acceptable. Although the breakfast selection was limited, the ingredients were good, and I especially appreciated the separate sections for raw and cooked food. Quanzhou isn't large; a taxi ride to attractions near West Street usually takes less than 20 minutes. The accommodation was very quiet, which was a big plus.

GGuest UserI rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again. Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea. Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean. Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with. The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels. Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

FflubberGrand Honor Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Shishi, but it’s not quite the same level as a luxury hotel in a bigger city. Generally the hotel is clean, but it’s the little things that I noticed, ie when I checked in, there were some sweet wrappers next to the bowl of sweets that weren’t cleared away. That said, the sense of space is evident in the hotel lobby, lifts, corridors and most importantly, the hotel rooms. Rooms are very spacious and well-designed, although the closet area can definitely do with brighter lights. Most amenities are provided but what put me off is that many items that would have been free in other hotels at this price-range aren’t free at Grand Honor. There is a Chinese tea set on the table and usually the loose leaf tea is provided for free but it cost ¥15 per packet. Honestly it’s not a lot of money for us, but on the flip side, surely the hotel can provide a bag of tea leaves for their guests. There are the standard free single-use packet tea in the drawer so at least there’s that. In-room slippers are not to be taken out; they’d charge you if you do - and that’s fine, but the slippers are actually really uncomfortable to wear. The small plate of fruits (banana, plum and mandarin) given at 5pm every day is a nice touch. The hotel breakfast is probably the highlight. Set on the 22nd floor with panoramic views of the city, breakfast is very enjoyable. The food quality is pretty good, but a real surprise here is the sheer diversity of food. The bread selection alone has 5-6 choices (pastries, brioche, baguette, square toast, etc), the cooked food section is almost endless (and there’s cooked Chinese vegetables! 👏🏾) and then there’s the fruit selection at the end too. My only gripe is that the coffee machine is a bit slow, and there’s only one machine so there can be a wait for coffee. Location of the hotel is a little odd; good restaurants and the main mall is about 15 mins’ walk away. There aren’t many good shops to wander around nearby. Generally, this is a solid hotel for this price point. Excellent service with very fast food delivery (using the ubiquitous delivery robots) and friendly front desk staff.

MMaoxiaomao~Quanzhou West Lake Hotel boasts an excellent location right next to West Lake Park, offering great transport links. The 'Little White Car' stop right outside provides direct access to the ancient city's core. The hotel facilities are new and comprehensive, with spacious and bright rooms. Some room types even feature oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views of West Lake – truly a sight to behold. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, making check-in a breeze, and the intelligent robot delivery service is a convenient touch. The hotel's quiet environment makes it ideal for families or business travelers, and its high value for money makes it a fantastic choice for visiting Quanzhou.

ZZeederworldWe had a lovely one night stay Very helpful and friendly hosts who live in the adjoining building Location is perfect. In between West Street and Quanzhou Ancient City. About 20 to 30 mins walk to each direction. The ginger duck dinner (10 mins walk) and taro fritter right at the back street of this mishu (both recommended by the host) were one of the best food throughout our Fujian trip. We appreciated the host allowing us to freeze our food and helped us arrange a driver to send us to Xiamen the next day. It's door to door at RMB70 per pax (if sharing the cab with others). Cheaper than didi + train + didi and less time consuming. The room size is slightly on the smaller side but we don't mind as we were out all day. All the basic amenities needed are provided. Most important is its clean and comfortable. As I booked using non-Chinese no and can't read Chinese, I did not receive notifications from host right after my Trip.com booking . We depended on Baidu map to guess the location after the taxi dropped us at the main road. Be prepared to walk 2 mins into small/back lane and to enter an unlock gate to enter the compound of 2/3 residential building cluster. A bit confusing for us but we managed to locate the minshu after 5 mins. We wish we had more time for Quanzhou. Definitely worth at 2 nights. So much more to explore here.

Ssmz59Even though I only stayed for one day, it left a great impression on me. First, the location is excellent, very close to the West Gate of Kaiyuan Temple, just 200 meters away, and the surrounding transportation is very convenient. Second, it has a 'winding path to a secluded spot' feel; from the room, you can see the West Pagoda up close and the East Pagoda in the distance, offering tranquility despite being in a bustling area. Finally, the owner's service was exceptional, not only providing detailed travel tips but also ensuring the room was clean and comfortable. All in all, it's a homestay worth revisiting.

The rooms are spacious and bright, with plenty of natural light. The bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent, completely blocking out any outside noise.

KKatleenBI had an amazing stay at this hostel! My private room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. But what really made the experience special was the great atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making it easy to connect with other travelers. The common area downstairs is spacious, with a playful dog and cat roaming around, as well as games to enjoy. We ended up playing mahjong almost every night. The hostel also has a great location in the 1916 arts district, just a 15-minute walk from the old town. Highly recommended!

DDaimiI went to Quanzhou with my friends and booked a three-bedroom homestay. The location is good, the room is big and very quiet. The bathroom is not very good, a little small, and it is inconvenient for two people to use it at the same time, one to take a shower and the other to blow dry their hair. After all, it is a bit inconvenient to have the toilet sink and the shower together for three rooms. Overall it is not bad, I recommend it.
